Rarely does one have REALLY high expectations for an event such as a movie and it meets those expectations. Avatar, especially in IMAX 3D, did, and then some. THIS is a movie that you HAVE to see on the Big Screen. NO 3D problems, BTW, that is part of the genius of this work.

Though the story isn't anything spectacular, the visuals are. Cameron has created such a vivid world, you become so immersed in it, the improbabilities fly out the window and you wish with all your heart you could have your own avatar. Ignore the obvious liberal, "go green" undertones, and you're in for an intense and remarkable movie experience. I will be seeing it in theaters a second time.

I loved this movie. You must see it in IMAX 3d anything else is a waste of time. James Cameron, Terminator, T2, POTC: Curse of the Black Pearl.... has gone above and beyond anyone's imagination. I am going to see Avatar again because I know that I missed alot. The total emersion was overwhelming, I laughed, I cried but what is more I saw and understood. When I was leaving the theater with my friend, a man was on the phone with his friend, he said "Dude, I just say Avatar, it changed my life" I turned to him and said "I totally agree" and so did my friend. It is the Star Wars [circa 1977] of this time.

I went in really unsure of this movie, I mean the director of titanic making a sci-fi fantasy film? But Avatar blew away my expectations. It is worth every penny to see it in 3D, I have never experienced a movie that deeply before. Great movie that almost anyone would enjoy.

First... I'm SO glad I went to see Avatar. I had seen a couple of 'host-type' folks on TV, standing in front of the camera, talking about how this film would NEVER make it's $300 million budget. WELLLLLLLL... I hope the WORLD gives this film a chance. It's a REMARKABLE example of state-of-the-art digital... AND it's in 3D. I thought the story was great, the characters believable and the 'experience' (especially in IMAX 3D) very 'real.' I've already sent an email to all my friends... and posted a message like this on my FaceBook page... telling everyone that they MUST SEE AVATAR!!! I'm SO excited about the what those folks have done. WELL worth it. Thanks to everyone involved. I had a BLAST!!!

This movie has taken the movie watching experience to a new level. Great work, this is by far the best technically advanced movie that I have ever seen.
I would strongly recommend that anyone planning to see this movie should only see the IMAX 3D version.
I just observed one thing though, there were many scenes where the characters were seeing pictures/photos on the fridge/refrigirator, the picture images were also appearing in 3D, whereas in real life, human eye can see every 3d obect in 3d but sees all 2d objects in 2d (for e.g. if you see a photo/picture, the image is only a 2d image).

Avatar, what can you say but incredible. An intimate look into two cultures and individuals caught up by outside forces that change the very core of their belief systems. Very Cool.
The Imax process is the equal to the amazing movie. The visual clarity and the 3d made the story very immersive. Topped off by the incredible sound system. I could hear things from a 360 with clarity not found in other movies.
This will be the Star Wars of this era. A big jump foward in cinematography.

This movie is a must see. The 3D graphics were subtle enough that it felt right, but impressive enough that it should be the only way to watch this film. Story-wise, while it's arguably a simple plot, the maturity with which is was written was impressive. While many equate it to Fern Gully in space, it's much more beautiful than that. Part of the elegance is that the story could come across with several conflicts without trying to make itself complicated. The acting was appropriate, the writing was way above par, and the CG is stunning. The attention to detail on this film is easily recognized and appreciated. Not once did the digital art feel fake or out of place. I highly recommend seeing this film, the 3D is a must.
