Bridges dominates, scenery of the West captivates, the nihilism of No Country is cut by humor and wonderful dialogue. Don't worry about the Duke. The Dude makes this well worth savoring.
Rarely does one have REALLY high expectations for an event such as a movie and it meets those expectations. Avatar, especially in IMAX 3D, did, and then some. THIS is a movie that you HAVE to see on the Big Screen. NO 3D problems, BTW, that is part of the genius of this work.
I've NOT been a Watchmen novel fan but I expect most won't be. I found the graphics fascinating, some of the acting being pretty weak, others like Rorschach pretty interesting. I'd compare it in mood and darkness to Blade Runner and in complexity of back story and "what's the lesson" to The Matrix series. You want to see this one on the Big Screen, however.
