I took my kids to see the movie in Imax 3d. This movie was visually stimulating, mentally stimulating, exciting, and with a good message. I never thought I'd be rooting for anyone other than the human side. I think that Pandora as a world was incredibly deep and developed as well as the Navi culture. I found it fascinating that they could link up to the rest of their planet. Glad it had a mostly happy ending, although it seemed to come at a great cost. Visual effects were amazing. Acting was amazing. All around a good film with a good message. We'll be buying the DVD as this is the best movie I've seen since I can remember. CAmeron did not disappoint!

I couldn't wait to see what ALL this ground breaking effects hubbub was all about! The CGI was not nearly as cheezy as I thought it would be. I was pleasantly surprised by the realism of the effects. The story line however was not that groundbreaking or Original. Of course going in you know that the draw is the effects and NOT the storyline.
No, I do not recommend this movie.

Visually stunning! The landscapes were so convincing, my friend wanted to wait through all the credits to see where it was filmed! The story was very moving and well told.
My major criticism was the lack of character development of the 'skypeople'. So much thought was put into the rest of the movie, it seems they got tired, took the easy way out and grabbed a corporate greed/military smash-everything-in-sight stereotype. That was disappointing.

This film was the most beautiful, extravagant, masterpiece i've ever seen in my life. It was an experience I will never forget and will certainly want to live again. The story, acting, and theme were superb. James Cameron is a brilliant man and I feel that everyone should see this peice of art so that they too can witness is inexplicable genius.

This movie was the best adventure I have experienced in a theater ever! If you go to see it don't settle for less than IMAX 3D. I have sopken to many people that have seen it both ways and they have all said that the IMAX 3D is the only way to see it if you want the full experience. High definition and beautiful. I will go see this one again!

All five adult Family members agreed: It was worth the wait and the cost. Awestruck was one opinion, speechless another, and just not wanting it to end rounded out the opinions. It is a must see again! The visuals were spectacular and IMAX 3D was a must see.

The special effects were spectacular, although the 3D didn't really add anything for me. It would have been just as breathtaking in a 2D IMAX format.
Storyline was predictable but well told. The characters were generally 2 dimensional, but the actors did a fantastic job with what they were given. The development behind the Na'vi culture and the world of Pandora was well thought out.
Cameron didn't pull punches when it comes to the atrocities of war. It portrayed both the honor and the horror, the futility as well as the necessity.

Saw this movie on 12/26 at my local IMax theater.
This was definitely an awsome experience. The rich colors of the graphics and the action, especially on that large of screen was mind blowing.
The films good versus evil theme was easily deduced but that does not detract from the flow of the scenes nor lessen the impact of the effects.
I definitely recomend this movie for shear entertainment value as I was glued to movie without my mind wandering away to another topic.

The special effects in this movie were incredible and to learn about the technology behind it before seeing the movie made it even more fascinating to watch.
The story line did not keep me engaged, but the effects were worth going. I will go to this movie over and over again, because I am sure I will discover something new with every viewing. Looking forward to seeing it again.

Definitely see it in Imax 3d if available to you.
There were many references to previous Cameron films. Sigourney Weaver, rising from her sleep-pod, had me looking for Jones the cat. This is not a criticism. It added to my enjoyment of the film.
While the quality of the film was excellent: 5/5. The underlying plot was more political than the genre warrants. Did the Zoe Saldana character have to ululate (the lulululu vocalization)? We all wanted her to be our avatar, not the avatar of middle-eastern jihadists warring against the west. We don't need propaganda inserted into our escapism, Mr. Cameron. A simple 5 second voice edit would have raised my rating a full star.
I reccomend the Imax movie.

I actually had to walk out briefly to get my equlibrium back... I became so dizzy with the realistic visual effects that I almost got sick. Other than that, I enjoyed the movie immensely and would recommend it highly to anyone. It is a definite must see for those who love movies and don't easily get motion sickness.

I went to see this movie with little expectations considering I have two young children who watch the cartoon. I cannot begin to explain the sensory overload this movie brings on. I was ablosutely amazed by the detail and how beautifiul Pandora was. James Cameron provides you with a three hour escape from the rat race of everyday life into a world full of harmony and beauty. He brings on an idea that there is an energy greater than us all that connects each and every one of us. This movie gives hope to the circle of life and meaning to our everyday lives. This is truely a movie to remember, both visually and spiritually.

I only heard about the budget spent on this movie, but I;ve gotta say: it's definitely worth it.
It's a great story line, excellently filmed with great music. The graphics are tremendous, especially in Imax 3-D. Whether you like sci-fi or not, this is a must-see movie.

This movie was insanely amazing, especially in IMAX3D. I had to buy my tickets in advance because everytime I went to the theatres the tickets were sold out. Now I understand why! The colors, the drama, the characters--especially Zoe Saldana--were awesome. I really felt like I was partaking a journey in another planet. James Cameron has yet to disappoint, and this is,by far, the highlight of his career. I can't wait to buy the DVD when it comes out!

This is the first time I have seen a full length movie in IMAX 3-d, and I have to admit it will be ard in the future to watch a "regular" movie again! And would be a wonderful experience when it is available on home DVD or regular television. YOU MUST SEE THIS AT THE THEATRE AND 3-D!!
Yes, the movie was somewhat predictable at times, but the fantastic experience where you feel you are actually sitting inside the movie was unbelievable.
So all in all, although the plot/storyline was ok, the total experience has left me mesmerized. Do not miss out on this experience.

Wonderful attention to detail and special affects. 3-D has certainly improved in technology since I last viewed a 3-D movie. Good science fiction story as well. I would seek out a real iMax screen, not the ones at the regular multiplexes. See it on a 6 story screen.

Watching this movie in 3D Imax was the best decision we made!!! it was a great movie, great story line and great graphics!!! enjoyed every moment...although the movie is long (2hr40min) it did not feel like we were there for that long....I highly recommend it!! definately buy your tickets in advance and get there early for good seating!!
