This movie is amazing! There's never a dull moment. The IMAX 3D experience raises the bar on any other movie I will watch from here on. This is a must see- GO SEE IT NOW!! =)
P.S. it was sold out EVERYWHERE but we were able to get tickets at movietickets.com so I will def be utilizing this website from now on.

What a film! Absolutely PHENOMENAL entertainment. Most beautiful looking film ever created. Everything is just about perfect, with the exception of the story itself which is just cliched enough to warrant this as one of those CLASSIC movies we'll be watching decades from now. My expectations were about as high as can be for a movie, and unlike how high expectations usually lead to disappointments this still blew me away! Perhaps this is the most "feels like you're there" experience next to playing a video game, perhaps bridging that gap between what is "seen" and what can actually be literally EXPERIENCED in a cinema.

Visually beautiful movie. I saw it in IMAX 3D and it was absolutely beautiful - things popped off the screen. The story itself is well written. And believe me it is not just for kids.

This is the movie that all future sci-fi / fantasy / adventure movies will be judged by. The cinematic scope of Avatar is best appreciated in 3D IMAX... the depth of field is just incredible and the 3D is done with enough restraint to keep it from being excessive or distracting.
On a scale of 5, Avatar in 3D IMAX gets a 6!

A great flick even though the storyline was pretty simplistic. The effects are the movie and are well worth the price of admission. The story reminds me of Ferngully with a love story added. But what 15 years has done for the effects technology!!! I will probably even see it a second time in the theater, which I very seldom do.

The best word to describe this movie is WOW. It is so disappointing when movies show their best scenes in the previews. Avatar did just the opposite. The previews were good, but it didn't even come close to describing how wonderful this movie turned out to be. I would completely suggest seeing it on the IMAX and in 3-D. The movie did not seem computer generated at all like some movies have been. I would highly recommend anyone to see this movie. It was entertaining from start to finish!

This is by far the best movie I have seen in 2009. I really wasn't sure I wanted to see this movie, but all the great reviews drew me to the theater. I am so glad I went to see it. Absolutely the best Special effects I have ever seen, and very good story line. I saw the movie in IMAX 3D, which is worth the few dollars extra to see it this way. I highly recommend seeing it in IMAX. The movie didn't feel long at all, time just flew by. Go out and see it in the IMAX theater

This movie came highly rated, but I was still a bit unsure about seeing it since I'm not into "avatars." It exceeded ALL of my expectations and was a fantastic movie. I saw it in an IMAX theatre and highly recommend that option to anyone wanting to get the best viewing experience possible.

This is the best movie I have seen all year. We first went and saw it in 3D. Not even a week later we took all of our grandkids to I-Max to see it, again in 3D. Fantastic, awesome movie!!! Can't wait to buy it and hope it comes out for sale in 3D. I'm not to sure they can top this one with a sequel but I'd sure like to have more of this movie.

This movie is amazing. It has action, adventure, mystery, and a love story with characters having more depth than I ever expected. The technology created was absolutely breathtaking and astonishing. Pandora is a remarkable place that had every corner of it thought out and every aspect of it alive with meaning and purpose. The imagination and creativity to make this place is unbelievable. The actors, perfectly cast, were incredible. I am so thankful in this industry we still have the incredibly, awe inspiring, and gifted movie makers like James Cameron. He is one of the directors that I grew up watching and was inspired by and continue to be inspired by. He's just AMAZING...

This movie breaks new ground in cinema - I was trying to take in as much as I could because it is that visually stimulating. It must be seen on a digital IMAX screen to get the full scope of it's immensity. Hats off to James Cameron, WETA Digital, Richard Taylor, and all the rest of the film crew. What a truly spectacular experience. I have to watch it again!

Seen it twice and both times when the credits came up, I just sat there in disbelief. It was tough to blink trying to take in every bit of Cameron's magnificent world so my eyes kept tearing up. Its pretty tiring, but at the end of it all you really feel like you've travelled and gone on some fantastic adventure. In 2D, it is not nearly the same movie. So cough up the few extra bucks!

I saw Avatar originally in a normal theater and although I thought It was a really good movie, nothing could compare to the awesome 3D experience of I-max. This movie was tremendous in 3D. I had seen other "3-D" movies before, but they always left me feeling nauseous. Not Avatar. The planet of Pandora felt so alive and real in 3-d...It was nothing short of amazing to watch, I enjoyed the story and the characters were very memorable too!! My only complaint, My eyes kept tearing up because I was forgetting to blink!!! I was literally staring at the film because there was sooooo much visual stimulation !!! You gotta see this in Imax 3D, you won't be sorry!

Not for small kids. But, really worth the ticket price on Imax 3D. Please do not bother watching this on normal screen, make it a point to see it on IMAX 3D.
I purchased the ticket on movietickets.com, but when I went to the Rosedale center AMC theater at Roseville, they had no record of my purchase. Fortunately, I showed the order confirmation e-mail on my blackberry, and I was admitted.

This is the first movie that I have ever said " I want to see it again" as I was walking out of the theater. I know I must have missed many wonderful things-there is just so much to take in during the 2 hrs and 40 min.

First off, this review is of the IMAX 3D version. This movie is nothing short of amazing. The world Pandora Cameron has imagined is just beautifully depicted, and with the 3d effects, you feel immersed into the environment. I am not one to usually notice character acting, but I was extremely moved but the emotions portrayed by the main actress were amazing. The creatures are original and incredible. The

Avatar is one of the best movies ever made in my humble opinion. The story is very universal and unique at the same time. The creativity is brilliant. The alien people and creatures on Pandora are so realistic and so flawless in their appearance and movements that you forget that they are digitally created. Great work!
