The combination of the WETA animation & special effects, the story line and 3D IMAX delivery totally drew me into this incredibly rich world. When the experience ended, I was as reluctant to break the bond as Jake Sully was to break his with the Na'vi. I'd like to see it again this week!

This is now my favorite movie. Saw it the 2nd time in IMAX, but I was more focused on the story the the effects. You miss a lot of detailed character developement the first time, and so I recommend this one twice.

If you are going to see this movie you MUST see it in IMAX theater! BUY YOUR TICKETS AHEAD OF TIME AND ARRIVE AT THE THEATER AT LEAST AN HOUR PRIOR TO GET PRIME SEATS!!!! So glad we bought our tix the day before online. We got there 45 minutes before movie start time and the line was out to the street. Seats are 1st come 1st seated. Ended up with seats in middle of theater on end of row. Seeing this 3-D and IMAX was an awesome experience. I can see why it is the most expensive movie ever made. James Cameron will definitely get several Oscars!!!

this qualifies just as an OMG movie! We went to see Avatar 3D last week and LOVED it!! My Son was sick so we had to wait to take him. So we went to 3D I-Max. HOLY Cow. (I'll use nice words) This movie is just fantastic! The Audio, The Visual, The Emotional, all just beyand expectations. One minute you are holding on to your stomach, falling of a mountain, next you are choking back tears, then you are holding back a yell of satisfaction,.... A true Roller Coaster ride of a movie. There is absolutely NO reason to see this in 2D. 3D or nothing. Or take it to the top and do the 3D, I-Max!!

The movie reminds me much of the best of The Matrix and Star Wars but with a holistic view. The IMAX 3-D view was eye-popping, the world structure reminiscent of Tolken's series with a good many layers. The one lagging question...what was the purpose of 6 legs for the animals? Just didn't seem to have a well-thought out use. Otherwise, beautifully done and well thought out. The very fact that they invented an entire new language is incredible! Well-acted- you gotta love Sigourney Weaver- this is a terrific movie with STRONG women! It's about time.

James Cameron is BACK! Not only is this movie a revalation as far as its cinematic innovation but it is also an enjoyable film with a strong, yet veiled social message and love story. I found myself totally engrossed in the movie, the characters and the world of Pandora. Also seeing it in IMAX 3D also didn't hurt either! I think it is best way to see this film!

What a great movie! We saw it in IMAX 3D...eyeglasses no problem. A good love story; a fantastic look; time flew by. Just the right amount of super 3D effects. I wanted to see it again...right then. I've only been impressed by two other movies like this before: "Star Wars" (the first one) and "Raiders of the Lost Ark". A must see for everyone.

This is one of the best movies that I have ever seen. The fantasy portion was beautifully executed and I wanted to reach out touch everything. I loved the spiritual nature of the story and hope that wisdom made it through to the general public. It's an old story but told in a completely new and original way - absolutely breathtaking. The music was lyrical and haunting at the same time. The villain was perfect - the conceptualization of the planet and it's lifeforms was just breathtaking. I guess I just can't say enough about this movie.

I really enjoyed this movie. The 3D effects were awesome and seeing it in IMAX is worth the price. Everyone has been saying the story line was so-so, but I don't agree, while it was basically the same old guy hero gets girl love story, there were some new twists and it kept me entertained until the end. I recommend seeing this in the IMAX 3D theater.

Although this movie deserves at least an A+ in visuals, especially in this format, I can only give it three stars. James cameron cannot write a script, the plot was awful as a result, and the acting was a failure as well.
Also, as a warning, the IMAX 3D can cause nausea. I did not vomit but felt nausea by the end of the movie.

We were enjoying the movie to the MAX, when it shut down, after some time it was determined to be a power failure, after nearly 2 hours, we were told the movie was done for the day, we were highly disappointed, as we had driven nearly 40 miles, our next opportunity to again drive 40 miles won't be until the end of January. Our tickets were refunded. There was a man behind us that said he'd had the same experience at another theatre.

This is the second time seeing Avatar. The first time in 3D then in Imax 3D. I was blown away by this movie in 3D. In Imax 3D I was again blown away with the stunning CGI graphics intertwinning with actors and the breathtaking visuals far overcame the simplistic though riviting plot. I amd palnning to by a Blue Ray disk player so that when Avatar comes out in Imax Blue Ray I will be ready!

OK--I admit the experience of this movie in IMAX, digital, 3-D is riveting. But really, where are the old-fashioned movie values (such as, a developed story and characters)? These things have never been important to James Cameron. In Titanic, he used a cliched love story and characters who ran true to type.This time, his hopes for another Titanic hit betray him to such a degree that his main characters (Jack/Jake??) and score smack not just of old Hollywood, but of old Cameron. Go see Avatar, but afterward, come home and rent Pan's Labyrinth to see true magical effects wedded with great storytelling.

From the beginning of the movie you are drawn into the story and kept there, pulls you in deeper and deeper as the story progresses.
Graphically stunning with vivid colors and 3D provides added yet not rammed down your throat value to the whole movie, such as the little bugs flying around in the jungle. IMAX always kicks major butt.
James Cameron has done it again.
Oh to be a tall blue alien with a synoptic pony tail living in a lush and beautiful world with amazing creatures. ;-)
