I thought the movie was worth the extra for the Imax/3D. Even though it may have been a rehashed story it was told well & was entertaining. The time flew by. My 9yr old enjoyed the movie also.

Imax tottally sucked! Regular screen is totally better. Imax was distorted and unenjoyable to watch. Blue hippies standing in the why of progress. Throw in some Beatles tunes and you would have a newer version of Yellow Submarine. See the movie for some good effects and if there's nothing else to watch. The characters were uninteresting to say the least. The story line was lame and leftist leaning. The only reason people see this movie is for the 3d. Not worth the xtra $$$ for Icrap. Without the 3d movie was lame.

As everyone has already said, the graphics and special effects are "state of the art". Too bad that they could not come up with an original story to match. Instead, they use the same old tired leftist myths about the evil inhuman corporation (read, "capitalism", or "Western Civilization") despoiling an ecological paradise and destroying the local natives, who are peaceful, innocent, and "one with nature".. This is simply a retelling of "Dances With Wolves" but moved into the future on a distant planet.,

I talked my wife - no SciFi fan - into going. I don't know which of us liked it more. It was probably me, since I'm going to see it again, but she really enjoyed it also.
The 3D on IMAX was spectacular, the special effects absolutely amazing, the acting right on, and the story a good SciFi plot.
The story did remind me a little of "Battlefield Earth," except we are the Psychlos. That was the only downer. It brought to mind all the useless wars since Korea we've been involved in and how much damage we've done.
Go see it and go see it on IMAX.

Dances with Wolves x The Emerald Forest + Star Wars. Predictable and un-original plot is saved by lovely imagined world, complete with plants and animals that deserve star billing. The nifty 3D helped engage me, though I did find myself looking at my watch an hour shy of the boffo conclusion.

This was the 2nd time I saw it. I took my wife to see it. She was skeptical before we got there, thinking it was just another sci-fi movie. But after she thought it was amazing. I did to, even the 2nd time. I am going again next week with another friend of mine. I figure I can only see this on the big screen in 3D for a little while. So I'd better do it. Maybe someday they'll come out with it in 3D HD on blueray or something. One can only hope.

Wow! There really aren't enough superlatives to properly rate this movie. It is so head and shoulders above anything I have ever seen in my life that I can't believe it. Sure, there is a lot of hype. But when was the last time any movie you've ever seen exceeded your inflated expectations? Hasn't ever happened? Trust me on this--this is the one movie that will! I never wanted to leave this place and look forward to returning. It really is something. Run don't walk to the 3D IMAX theatre near you. And enjoy. 3 hours of bliss.

If you are one of the few people who hasn't seen this movie then go now. Really good for all - kids to adults. SEE IT IN 3-D! SEE IT IN IMAX if you can. Don't drink too much soda, it's a long movie!

Loved it. The story was compelling. The main actors were engaging and the effects were mesmerizing. I would not hesitate to recommend this film. It was truly an artistic accomplishment.

I give this movie 5 stars bc this movie has to be seen bc of the special effects and has to be IMAX 3D. It was ridiculas how incredible the special effects were. That being said, the story was below average. Hollywood really hates this country/ the human race and you'll see what I mean when watch this movie. Probably will never watch this movie on TV bc of how incredible it was in 3d/Imax.

This movie was amazing. The animation blows you away. I thought the Lord of the Rings animation was unbelievable and this was even better. Of course I didn't see Lord of the Rings in 3D...Go see it, it doesn't feel long at all. It keeps your attention and is enthralling! I will be purchasing it for my home. So glad I saw it in 3D first!

One of the best movies I've ever seen. Must admit, the trailers do this movie no justice and I was not liking the 2 hr 40 min length, but a friend talked me into going last night. Not only did this movie capture my full attention, the sheer beauty and technology blew me away. I don't say this often, but I would see this again (but only in 3D - it's worth it).

My boyfriend and I went to see Avatar last night. We had no idea what to expect because we had heard reviews from friends, family, and of course the media. We were BLOWN AWAY! We were so enthralled in the movie - it was the fastest 3 hours. We want to go back and see it again. We saw it in IMAX 3D and couldn't believe how realistic it was - you felt like a part of the movie. There was so much attention to detail! We left the theater and couldn't stop talking about the movie for the next 2 hours. I would suggest it to everyone. I'm about to call my mom to tell her she has to see it!

It was my 12 yr olds b-day so i took him and his 6 yr old brother to see it. It was so awesome. I had a geat time and so did the boys. They wanted to watch it again. On the way home all we talked about was when this comes out... We are buying it. 3-d and IMAX was well worth it.

I am a math teacher and I told all my students. If you not see this one you have to becuase it is one chance out of 10 years deal. If you have seen it in 2D or 3D you have to see it again in IMAX. So I leave everyone homework go to see AVATAR IMAX this weekend with the one you love!

We found this film to be a great film experience as well as a great 3D experience. We loved the new "world" we were introduced to. Although the story is predictable it was still very exciting visually. The 3D effects were very well done and not the least bit annoying. I highly recommend it for both men because the action is great and for women who will love the story. We would definitely see it again. Don't miss it!!!

Although the story line was something which we have seen/known before or most of the sequences were predictable. It was the execution and Visual Effects that takes the movie to a completely new level. A Trendsetter in one word. The Concept, Visual Effects, Graphics, models/ Creatures in the IMAX 3D makes the best combination. Would like to see it again.

This is an incredibly beautiful movie. I was a little hestitant about the length of the movie going in, but it felt like I was in the theater for 10 minutes and I was sad to see it come to an end. Enthralling with a great message. Take the whole family to see it!
