My first IMAX 3D experience and I was blown away !!! I wish I would have known how amazing it was . My only wish was that there was an intermission and not such a long line to get in . Also the glasses were very uncomfortable . Avatar was very interesting . Great effects and awesome premise . I was blown away by the creatures . Not sure if I would have enjoyed it at home though . But all in all a fun experience .

You have to see this IMAX 3D..!! You won't regret the experience! I do have to say, if you get nauseous easy, don't sit too close... =)
Although it is a story line that has been sort of repeated.. good vs. evil.. they put a new twist on it that makes this movie irresistible!
The CGI is closest to flawless as I've seen without it being over-cartoonish... I liked this movie a LOT!!

We saw this movie at the Quail Springs IMAX screening. The 3D effects were unbelievable. There was not a dull space in the movie. Time seemed to stand still while the movie engrossed us all. The almost 3 hours went by quickly. I had invited one of my best friends who does not appreciate scifi nor fantasy movies to come with us. Even she thoroughly enjoyed this movie. It is well worth the time, money and effort to see this movie.

Avatar isn't the kind of movie you go to, see and then just walk away from. It was an experience from start to finish. It's an entire world that will encompass you. It constantly delivers, with its ever growing plot and easy to relate to characters. It's dynamic and visually pleasing as well as complex and mysterious. I've already seen this movie twice, once the normal way and once in IMAX 3D. I have to admit it was hellaciously awesome in IMAX 3D. It's definitely how this movie was made to be seen, but get there early to grab a good seat!!!

I have loved going to and watching movies all my life. This one was exceptional the 3d made you feel like apart of the action and the special effects are visually incredible. although many elements wer recognizable from other films i have seen in recent years, it always interesting to see a new take on an old story. I cannot wait to get it home.

Movie had good special effects but story line was predictable and boring. How many times have we seen warriors fall in love with the enemy and then decides to fight his own people because he is in love with enemy...this plot has been played out so many times it is rediculous.

it may not be the PERFECT action movie but then again it might be. If you don't like action movies you'll still probably like it because it's so well made. Remarkably for Cameron it has a lot of heart and is actually ABOUT something. Personally I don't think anyone should not see it. And BTW it really is all it's cracked up to be in terms of revolutionizing the film viewing (and film making for the un-budget-restrained too I'm sure) experience.

This is a very overtly religious movie, and heavily aimed at indoctrination. Not recommended unless you are appreciative of nature worship and pagan religious ceremonies. I am not.
The special effects are spectacular, and the basic story line is fine, but the religious parts are so pervasive that it ruined it for me.

Easily one of the most visually stimulating movies I have ever seen. I never even looked at the cup holder to find my cherry cola, leading to a few mumbled sorry mans. I barely noticed the 160 min. run time. The use of IMAX and animation were perfectly executed to the point that a friend asked me where they found that many stick figures to play the blue people...

If you are looking for an original story plot don't go. But if you want a great visual and audio experience you have to go with the Avatar IMAX 3D Experience. I loved the visual experience that you simply can't get unless it's 3D and the huge IMAX screen put you right there. The story plot was ok with building conflict between the greedy corporation exploiting the territory of once friendly natives (the other race). Add in a Pocahontas and John Smith rescue and a love affair and you have your typical adventure movie but with fantastic visual and audio expression. Would see it again but only in IMAX 3D.

At least in IMAX 3d this was cinamatic briliance. A solid story in the sense what you experienced in this alien world is really part of the story. Only see this in 3D as it is an integral part of the story and experience. A little predictable but I found myself not caring. I really did not want this movie to end.

This movie has an awesome story and the Avatar concept is way cool.
However, the special effects in this movie (at least the IMAX 3D version) take things to a new level. For me this is as big a leap forward as when Star Wars launched back in May, 1977.
I highly recommend this film and you MUST see it in the theater in 3D!!!

I enjoyed the movie thoroughly. the graphics, the animation, and the effects; the thrilling sensation of flying and running in the delicate glowing forest in the night are so real.
The the plot is not completely fresh, but I find absolute originality in the ideas of floating mountains, the one-ness of the people, the creatures and the nature.
three hours of thrilling entertainment, two thumbs up.

I was drug to this movie not really interested in it, but I knew the kids would like to see it. Wow I don't have anything to compare this movie to. Beautiful story line and amazing images. I have never been a part of a 400 person audience that was truely captivated. A MUST SEE 10 stars!!!

Best looking film ever. Amazing experience in 3D. James Cameron has really perfected the use of 3D technology. A lot of people are complaining about an unoriginal story line, but it's not as bad as it sounds. Sure, the same type of story has been told, time and time again, but never to this scale and with such an amazing visual experience to accompany a still very invigorating story.

Graphics and videography wise, this movie is neat. The characters and environment, though CG, looks very real. The 3-D still needs a bit improvement, at some parts, the depth was good, in some it was superficial...but I can't compare cos havn't watch many 3D movies.
Story is complelling with dilemmas and messages and keeps you attached. (It is not a kiddie movie)
I enjoyed watching it and some of the people who went with me who are into movies were very fascinated and amazed by the quality of content, direction and acting. One of the best movies ever, one of them exclaimed after the movie.
Overall a 9 out of 10.

This movie was AMAZING. I am not a sci-fi kinda girl at all but i heard such great things about it that i decided to check it out for myself, and let me tell you it exceeded my expectations by a long shot. I highly recommend seeing the 3D IMAX experience version. It was a crazy intense movie. The 3D effect made you feel like you were in the movie watching as a bystander. I am going to see it a few more times in theather.. it was that good!
