This is a must see movie for those who like
"feel good" movies with a message, people who are blown away by fantasy and special effects. Only be aware of children or adults who are extremely motion sensitive. The 3D is quite realistic.

OK, you have to watch this movie, on IMAX 3D you feel like inside the movie. I was so excited, in whole movie there is no boring moments, so you don't feel that 2,5 hours just left, and after you asking about AVATAR part II :)

Once you get past the discomfort of the 3D glasses (happened to me after the forest chase scene) the movie is breath-taking and involving.
The story line may be a bit predictable (and the lines dumbed-down a bit) but the movie can definitely invoke some emotions (if you will let it).
It is a rather long movie- so don't suck down that large soda too quickly as you will probably miss something when you get up go to the bathroom. :)

Visually, unexcelled. I saw it it Imax 3D and it was really neat. The story line was somewhat predictable and they were some obvious political statements made but very worthwhile.Sadly, the volume was so loud I had to stuff pieces of a napkin in my ears and they were still ringing after the movie.

This movie has a great story line and great effects and the 2 hr and 40 min just fly by. I recommend watching in a 3D format. I've been told it is a Cowboys and Indians story line and it is...but it is done really well. Enjoy, you won't be disappointed.

While the fan fare around this movie was itself revolutionary and set an incredibly high bar, the product did not disappoint.
The visuals in this movie were breath taking. The plot was something between "Fern Gully" and "Pocahontas" but still compelling.
A little drawn out in parts, especially early flying scenes.
Overall, a must see.

It was an unmatched cinematic experience...unfortunately the underlying politically correct message of "military is evil and nature/mother earth is the true god ruined it for me. I hate being preached to by self righteous progressives with an agenda when all I want to do is enjoy a movie. For those of you who can think for yourselves....you know what I'm talking about. Absolutely incredible! Can really understand why the movie cost so much to make! The story was fast-moving and even though it was 2 hours and 40 min, it didn't seem like it. IMAX and 3-D is the way to go!

I saw this movie in Imax 3D and it was fantastic. My wife wasn't sure about this movie after watching the previews and came with a "along for the ride" attitude. After it ended, these were her first words: "WOW, this was a lot better than i thought, those previews don't do it justice."
I would recommend AT LEAST an IMAX screen, the effects are great and you will want to see all of the detail. If you have an IMAX 3-D, this is my format of choice, not for all movies but movies like this one only don't come around often.
If you are unsure about this movie, give it a chance and go watch it. If you want to see this movie, then stop reading this and get to the theater.

I am so happy that I decided to see "Avatar" in Imax 3D. The movie was awesome and the special effects, imagery and imagination that went into creating this masterpiece was simply out of this world. I can not wait for the movie to come out on DVD so I can watch it over and over and over and over again.

I went with my 22 year old son. We are huge sci-fi buffs. We left this movie speechless. I'm sending my 82 year old father to see so he can be amazed at how movies have changed. I recommend everyone take the time to see this in the IMAX 3D experience.

This movie was excellent. The 3D is great and at times so subtle its genius and so spectaular you feel as if you could reach out and touch a tree.
It was sad for me though because the destruction and ignorance shown by the human race is evident and rings too true.
Hopefully if this is a metaphor for the future we take extensive care to pay attention to this movie.
James Cameron did an awesome job!

The visual experience is fantastic. I did get a headache which lasted untill the next morning. I was disturbed that a film so clearly pro-life/pro-nature should cause the theater crowd to cheer when humans were killed. *These people did not have to die. This was not a good thing.* Every human I know behaves superior to the characters in this movie. We as a race are better than this.

I watched it in IMAX. A long and tiring movie. Wearing the 3D glasses and watching so many things happening were fun for the first 30 minutes...then I wanted it finish fast as time dreaded on. I took the glasses off during some scenes to check on how it looked like w/o it, not all shots were made in 3D.
Plot was like a scientific version of "Dancing with Wolves"...all expected! Watching a production like this is worth once in a life time, no more!!! I actually felt dizzy and wanted to throw up after walking out!!! However, for the length and production budget, you will get your money worth...otherwise...I am not sure if it is good for small kids either...they may think different though...
