This was such an awesome movie experience. The movie was beautiful, the 3D superb, even the underlying message! I can not wait for the sequel ! There must be a sequel. I thought that I would grow tired with the length of the movie but I was only left wanting more! I would go see again! Superb Movie!

The plot was totally cliche and overused, but cameron did a good job of making it his own. The 3-d really makes this movie because it places you in the action and gives you a deeper connection with the characters allowing the overused plot to feel new and fun.

Avatar was absolutely incredible - definitely seeing it again but bringing earplugs.
Does the dB level have to be directly proportionate to the budget? Are the post guys losing their hearing? No wait, let me guess - it's the individual theaters that crank it up so loud? Either way, turn it down, please!
I do production sound on feature films (albeit, not in the league with Avatar... yet) but I value and need my hearing to make a living.
The low-end is fine but PLEASE take the high to mid-high frequency peaks and knock them down a good 12 to 15 dB. You're already compressing the heck out of the M&E, so it should be no problem to just set your ceiling a little lower.

This was the first movie I have ever seen in 3D Imax, and it was great experience!! I also must say that the movie was nothing like I thought it would be, and not as predictable as other movies. I was amazed!! I had a great time!

This was a very good movie. The life like movements of the Avatars and animation of the native population made the movie. It was wonderful to see stong female characters. Avatar's director used new vision to display saving life, history and love through turmoil. With the strong village approach to combating outside forces detemined to leave this world as dead as their home world, it was great to see the world pull together to survive.

Very well put together. Combining real actors on film with animated/generated characters has come a very long way over the years. The story line flows along. Though very predictable in several areas, it was very entertaining. The visual effects were outstanding. I recommend viewing in a 3-D IMAX theater if possible. Much of the movie takes advantage of 3-D.

Anybody who has heard of this movie knows the effects are outstanding. If you are going just for that have fun. If you are looking for a great story to go along with the visuals you might be disappointed. Though, if you like stale stories with huge plot holes and phrases like "we aren't in Kansas anymore" and "shock and awe" this may be the movie for you. Think Dances with Wolves with an annoying environmental message. Yes, the old "humans are the bad guy" story once again. Blech! It wasn't an entire loss for me. The popcorn was fresh and no one kicked my seat.

Watched the IMAX 3D version, this is the best visual effects movie ever, period!!! Not a single scene in the entire movie that I could obviously say was computer generated, looked all around natural, great graphics. Will be going for the second time soon :) My only small complaint is they could have chosen a little bit more commanding cast for certain characters.

WOW!!! This is a long movie - at least that's what I was told - but I couldn't believe it was as long as it was! Fast moving, exciting! I will tell you do not go to close to show time. It was snowing and we had to sit in the second row. Would have enjoyed much more if could have sat back more.

WOW if you want to see the human race after hundreds of years in the furture still SMOKING and looking for GASOLINE go see this movie.
Hundreds of years have pased but we still are a brutal and unfeeling race, great. Can you just think of the amout of watch dog agencys there will be in the furture. With all the tech in this movie I think we would have mined the ore out a different way, HEY just like we already do today with out distroying the land,

I watched this movie in an IMAX 3D setting. I think it is the best way to watch it because it is like you are in the movie. Kinda like you are within the Avatar itself. Makes it more real. Awesome!!

For me, no matter what other have said, or what any critics has talked about, I had to go see it for my self. Let me tell you how much I liked it. I have seen it 3 times. It is a spectacle ride through a world we could only dream off. A story that will take you in and even at the end, make you want more. Visually beautiful and great performance. Of course it doesn't start fast as they need to develop each characters story, but at the end it is all worth it. It was just like when I saw Star Wars for the first time as a little kid. Must see movie for 2009-10.

I had heard mixed reviews from people who focused on the political aspects of this movie...too bad that is all they got from it. This is Dancing with Wolves on steroids.

This movie will dazzle the eyes with the groundbreaking effects. And a storyline that can break your heart. It reveals mans nature to take what is not his at any cost. And shows how one can redeem him self of his mistakes in the eyes of the one he loves most. This movie was so good I had to see it twice, even driving 20 miles to see it. Something I hope will be in 3d when it comes out on DVD.

I just went to see Avatar for the second time and my son has seen it three times. We finally were able to get into an Imax 3D showing and the images and sound made the wait totally worth wild. This is a must see and probably in my top 5 best I have ever seen!

We saw Avatar first in the standard 'Real 3-D' and loved the experience so much that I decided to treat my husband to the 'iMax 3-D Experience.' The iMax tickets were $4 more a pop, and the line to get in was ridiculous - and in both our opinions the iMax 3-D version was not any more breathtaking or impressive than the standard 'Real 3-D' version. Save your money and your time and just see the plain old 3-D - but DEFINITELY SEE IT!

Walking out of the theater, I had the same feeling as I did after watching The Wizard of Oz for the first time. James Cameron has done it again on a completely different level. The hype was lived up to as this stunning masterpiece grabbed me through sight, sound and an exciting 3D experience. I will be sure to see this cinematic masterpiece again. I also had dreams about Navi. Interpret that as you will.

James Cameron may have taken his time to produce his new movie. I think this is a well spent time. Avatar usher in a new era in term on movie making. Beside the technological wonders this movie abound with, the story line is solid and compelling. The 3D experience is definitely a must to do. Can't wait to have a giant screen in my own home place and watch this movie again.

If you haven't seen Avatar, go see it. If you haven't seen Avatar in 3D, go see it. If you haven't seen Avatar in IMAX 3D, go see it, camp out in the theater and watch it again and again and again. It's just that good!

This movie was my first imax 3d and it was great. Better than i was hoping for. Would watch it again if IMax 3d was in my town or a lot closer. But seeing that i have to drive 1 1/2 hour to watch it. It was more than worth the trip.

Avatar is by far the most astounding movie experience of my life! Yes I have seen the story line before. But NEVER have I been more effected or moved by the movie experience than with Avatar. The I-MAX 3-D was more of what I've always wanted from a 3-D movie, and NEVER got before. We will go see this again! This movie HAS to seen, in the theater, at an I-MAX. Nuff said.

This is a must see in IMAX and really brought you right into the 3-D action. The presentation, graphics and plot made it seem just the right length. There are also some good social messages in it. Our group varied from 10 to 53 yrs. and ALL loved it.
