Avatar was beautiful, sad, enthralling....it hit the whole range of emotions, and I left the theater feeling great about how it ended. There is love, war, pain, grief, joy, excitement, and wonder, and in the end everyone in the theater was oddly connected to the humanity of these non-human creatures. Uplifting and sad at the same time. The beauty of Pandora is seen in the scenery, the special effects, the dialougue...pretty much every aspect of the movie, especially in contrast to the human-inhabited base camps. It was absolutely amazing, one of the best moies I have ever seen. And it was totally worth paying for the IMAX 3D version

This movie exceeded my wildest expectations in all possible ways. The visuals were so incredibly stunning that it felt like I was watching something real rather than a movie. The story-line was exceptional and inspiring. I would love to see this movie again and again. I would have went right out of one showing and into the next if there had been tickets available. I can not say enough about this movie and I encourage anyone and everyone to see it.

Avatar was truly a masterpiece. I'm so happy I watched it in the iMax 3D format..this is a must. The quality of the graphics, scenery as well as great characters, storyline and unbelievable world creation just make this a MUST SEE movie.

The plot is nothing you haven't seen before, but everything else is nothing you have. Much like the original Star Wars, this movie isn't cinema but spectacle. It's designed to amaze and enthrall, and it does a great job at that.

If you are one of the few people in the world who haven't seen Avitar, you must see it. If you are one of the people in the world who saw Avitar on a flat screen and not in 3D, you still haven't seen Avitar.
Yes, the story has been told before (think Dances with Wolves) but the 3D combined with the imaginative world that James Cameron has created is the real star. I started wondering what the Titanic ( the last movie that Cameron made) would have been like in 3D.
Even if you are not a sci-fi fan you will appreciate the technical beauty of this movie. For the young people who have grown up with color television and video games,maybe this is not such a big deal but I remember the advent of color TV. 3D is very cool and here to stay.

Unbelieveble special effects. The 3D experience was wonderful. We sat 2 rows up from the bottom so I was skeptical about viewing the screen up close but it was not at all a problem. I will be seeing it again in 2D cine' capri with my husband since the 3D bothers his eyes. It didn't seem like three hours of viewing since the storyline was so intense.

Loved the animation in Avatar and how the Avatar characters moved and spoke. Backdrops were simply breathtaking and the movie overall held my interest and eye the whole time. Wasn't quite sure of why this movie was offered in 3-D since there were hardly any moving affects. I think sometimes the war/fighting parts may have been dragged out too long (I'm not a war movie fan) and the storyline a bit over-simplified, but a great movie none-the-less.

Really had a good time. Went with friends on Monday 1/4/2009. Most people had to go back to work or to school, so we had no trouble getting very good seats. By the time the movie started it was still pretty full but not a sellout. The theater staff said it was the first showing that was not a sellout. I liked the experience and the message. In part the message was a bit blunt but still OK.

"Two-dimensional characters in 3D" should have been the tagline. The story is one we've all seen before and doesn't add anything new into the mix. The characters are rigid archetypes that don't seem to grow or develop in any way, except for the hero, who changes all the time.
Technically however the movie is stunning. The 3D is beautiful and masterfully handled by Cameron. We even get a few great performances from actors in supporting roles. Giovanni Ribisi and Stephen Lang do a lot with very little.
I'd recommend seeing it if only to show that 3D can be a cohesive part of a film instead of just an added gimmick to sell more expensive tickets.

This movie is indescribable. It has immediately become my favorite movie and I can honestly say that it has superseded any other film I have ever watched. This movie is epic, gorgeous, and incredible. I reacted physically, with chills, at climaxes in the story. At the end of the movie I felt exhausted, physically and mentally, as if I had underwent a mental and physical ordeal. This movie is a very special phenomenon. I predict that it will be recognized as the superlative movie of our time.
IMAX 3D added the level of immersion that this film deserves. I've watched in IMAX 3D three times and "regular 3D" twice and IMAX makes regular 3D feel lacking. This movie is meant to be watched big.

First time I saw this movie, I was amazed. The plot keeps you on the edge of your seat and the graphics are impossible to beat.
The second time I saw this, I had not so good seats yet it was enjoyed as much as the first, and I still went back for more.
This last time was the best. Middle of the theater with a perfect view of all the 3D graphics.
The plot is excellent, the acting is great, and omg I want my own Avatar!
Go see it. It's worth seeing more than once. Heck I plan on going back for more very soon. :)
Make sure you get to your IMAX 3D theater wayyyy in advance for the best possible seats. Oh and buy the tickets online so you won't be disappointed by the SOLD OUT sign.
