Loved the animation in Avatar and how the Avatar characters moved and spoke. Backdrops were simply breathtaking and the movie overall held my interest and eye the whole time. Wasn't quite sure of why this movie was offered in 3-D since there were hardly any moving affects. I think sometimes the war/fighting parts may have been dragged out too long (I'm not a war movie fan) and the storyline a bit over-simplified, but a great movie none-the-less.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
