The movie was great!!! The effects in IMAX and 3D where superb, at times I did not think it was animated. I would not take any child under the age of 12 to it. This is really a move for adults for that it does follow the story line to a T. I do have only 1 problem and that is the move is far over priced.

I would definitely recommend going to an IMAX 3D theatre to experience this movie. I have seen all Christmas Carol movies, and for me this is how Charles Dickens would be best depicted his writings. Yes, it shows the dark side of being visited by ghosts, however for me this was the reality of the situation. The results and transformation of Ebenezer Scrooge are felt in the end, and for me this movie stayed true to Dickens writings and why it is complex for kids. Don't trust professional critics opinions on this movie. Robert Zemeckis, the director, has integrated technology with the perfect story into an experience that you will not forget.

"Chritmas Carol" is one of my favorite Christmas movies so I went expecting it to be not as good or to follow the original storyline being Disney. Boy was I pleasantly surprised! It followed the original storyline and the IMAX 3D effects made you feel as though you were in the story and could reach out and touch everything. I would see it again and again.

The movie was very good, but I have to agree with others. For my 5 year old, it was a little to scary. It was very difficult at times to understand the story line. Jim Carrey did an amazing job, as always. The colors and music was awesome. I would recommend the movie to 12 year olds and over. I enjoyed it!

Loved the Disney remake! My kids are ages 8 and 10 and they loved it too! Glad we splurged and saw it in IMAX 3D! The graphics and detailing in the movie are beyond words. And we all left the theater feeling good! Glad disney kept so close to Dickens true words. May be difficult for small children to understand, so you may want to explain before the movie that this movie is from long ago and people spoke differently then, and they'll have to pay close attention to get the message. LOVED IT LOVED IT LOVED IT! Mass texted all my friends with and without children after movie to recommend it highly!!

This was very good- This years Disney Christmas carol was good- but I was a little concerned about the small kids I had with me - that missed much of the overall theme of the movie due to the dark parts fo the movie and the British English language that was tricky to understand at all parts. Trusted since it was Disney that it would not have the darker side to the story.. I was wrong. I would see it again, but I would not take kids younger than 12 or 13. The music was unbelievable!! Can't wait to get the soundtrack

I thought overall this movie was put together very well. As always Jim Carrey gave a great performance. I thought that the 3-D effects could have been a bit better but I would definitely recommend and would see again!

This is a wonderful movie. It was my first experience with the IMAX 3D and I loved it. It stuck closely to the original story line and the effects were out of this world. Truely a must see movie and well worth seeing over and over again!

I loved the IMAX 3D. It felt like you were in the movie. However, I think some parts of the movie, like the horse chase, were really only there to show off the IMAX 3D technology. I also felt that it could be scary for kids (especially in the IMAX 3D). The horse chase with the black horses and red eyes is scary for me! And the scenes with the ghost of Christmas future are pretty scary too. All and all though I loved it.

This was a well written and wonderfully animated film. Remained very true to the original storyline while showing off the most technologically updated animation ever. We saw it in IMAX 3D and I have to say that I felt like I was part of the film. The realism in both depth of picture and sound is off the chart! If you have never seen an IMAX 3D film this is the perfect one to cut your teeth on. You will be blown away by the animation, the 3D and the incredible film, not to mention the talent of Jim Carrey.

I realize Disney is trying to change its image, but, " A Christmas Carol" by Charles Dickens has such warm, wonderful memories for me that this translation, although spectacular in its effects and format--left me cold.
There is so much more soul in the one with Alastair Sims, and other remakes which stuck to a script that deals with human emotions more than special effects.
Thanks Disney, but I'll stick with the traditional versions of a great classic. Gimmicks and advanced technology will never out trump a great script which includes fully developed characters with heart and pathos even if they are computer generated!

Jim Carry and Disney did it again. This movie was fantastic. The 3D effects were great. There were times in the film when the 3D effects really drew you in. The animaton was perfect. This movie has been done so many times it is hard to do it better than everyone. But they did. This is the best version I've seen. Yes even better than (Gulp) The Flintsone's Version.

Accurate to the book, good for all ages, though some sensitive younger children may be frightened by the loud noises, scary characters and surprises in this film. Jim Carey does an amazing job as several characters (not as "hammy" as we usually see him).
Though the animation technique is similar to "The Polar Express" this is far superior - eyes of characters have more life, for example. 3-D is perfect for this film - very effective! A must-see this season!!!

This was an amazing experience!! It stayed so very close to the classic story. Jim Carey was awesome and I was totally blown away when I stayed to read the credits. I never knew so many of the actors were crossover characters. I went expecting to come out thinking "ehh" but left saying "WOW!"

I had the privilege of taking my kids to the train tour for the movie this summer, so we were already so super excited to see the movie and all that we had seen during the tour. This is another great Disney adaptation. My kids could hardly sleep the night before knowing that they were going to see it (and at the IMAX was an extra surprise). A little more than we usually spend, but totally worth it. Not sure how we will not see movies at the IMAX in the future!

but my husband loved it. A day later and he is still talking about how good the story was as well as the graphics. My step son loved it and wants to go back for seconds. AWESOME remake of the classic flick in IMAX 3D!! Jim Carrey was fantastic and the special effects amazing! I took my 7 yr old ... and parts were a bit scary... so I don't think a younger child would do quite well.. much less truely understand... but we thoroughly enjoyed it!

We left the theatre wanting more. I felt that the 3d effects were limited to within the screen window. Nothing really jumped out at you as the previews led you to believe. Although the movie rendition was good and the 3d was otherwise good, I'm used to much bigger IMAX screen and was disappointed at the smaller screen size at the particular theatre we saw it at. The images may be frightening to the very young and the ending seemed to be crammed together.
No, I do not recommend this movie.

Overall the movie was good. Imax 3D experience really enhanced the movie. Jim Carrey did a terrific Scrooge. Recommend everyone to see this movie for the holidays.

This was an awesome movie, the acting and animation was great, the characters looked like themselves. The flying scenes took my breath away like I was on a roller coaster or in a smulator ride. Very well done
