This movie was great. You can never get all the details that the book has. But it was portrayed well in the movie. All the characters we played well, I cant wait for Eclispe to come out, I hope its just as good.

This movie was waaay closer to the book than Twilight which I think is why I liked it more, that and it is awesome! I was suprised how they had exactly all the important stuff from the book and even added cute little 1 liners. The characters are more definied now and seem more comfortable in their characters and familiar I totally loved the movie! Can't wait to see it again.

new moon was my favorite book i don't think the writers or the director captured the intensity of this book. i loved the wolves scenes and volturi. but edward and bella there was a lot of passion lost, the vampires look ridiculous now. what's with all the make up and eyes, they looked better in the first movie! i hated the fact she would see edward, she would hear him in the book! i was soooo excited to see the movie and i really was disappointed. if you have read the harry potter books you will see the movies get a lot of what's in the book, the writers and directors get it. why not spend the money on these great books for that director!

My granddaughter and I saw the movie last night. We had been waiting for a year since seeing Twilight. New Moon was better since the direction was better. You got the feel of the characters more intimately. The visual effects done well. Also, New Moon was closer to the book than Twilight. Will get it on DVD when it comes out and waiting for the next in the series. Definitely a must see!

The depth of the characters was spectacular! They truly came to life, and were more than pictures on the screen, in New Moon. This was by far and away the better of the two movies so far in the series. I look forward to the next two with great anticipation!

I loved this movie. It captured many parts of the book, which to me says a whole lot.
I was a bit concerned about the wolf portrayal in the trailer, but after watching the movie I have changed my mind. You need to watch the movie.

I would suggest the next series be 3 hrs. 2 hrs is not enough time to cram everything from the story line in. Even though the movie was good, it could have been longer!

I was very impressed with Weitz's interpretation of New Moon, my daughter loves the movies like I love the books. This movie was so much better than Twilight directorial wise, although the scene with the Volutori added was a bit irritating as well as the sequence of Aro seeing Bella as a Vampire running in a dress?Just when would Bella wear a dress like that, very cheesy! All in all though visually well done, fun for my 9 year old, and cannot wait for the next 2 though how you make Breaking Dawn with a PG 13 rating without ruining the book is beyond me.

I was very upset with Twilight because they left so much out of the movie. So I was very surprised at how close to the story they stayed with this one. It was very good and I wouldn't mind watching it again. I hope the next one is just as good.

My expectations of this movie were pretty reasonable. It was my least favorite book. However, I don't think that the director used the cast to its full potential. Kristen Stewart reeks of drama, but it wasn't portrayed very well in this movie. Why keep her from belting out in this movie? She's awesome. Never once did I want to cry or tear up at her pain, like I did when reading the book. New Moon was certainly worth seeing if you are a fan of the saga. The movie needed to be longer as many important parts were left out. I hope that Eclipse will be longer and have the ability to capture the true essence of the book. If bad movies can last 2.5+ hours, how about making good movies like Eclipse and Breaking Dawn much longer? We will see...

This is movie was better than Twilight. Though I loved twilight better than New moon bookwise, I found the movie to be far more entertaining and very much to my standards. I still do not approve of Robert Pattinson playing Edward, but whatever. Kristen Stewart, unlike the first movie, showed more emotion during this film. Taylor Launter blew me away and I feel bad I disapproved of him before. Of course, I loved all the other Cullen. Michael Sheen is amazing as Aro! He was creepy and was just as I imagined him in the book. Dakota Fanning was alright, but I feel they could have gotten someone else for Jane. Overall, a great movie and I will buy this one on DVD. TEAM JASPER!

I loved Twilight and was concerned when they changed directors. My concern was unwarranted. As much as I loved Twilight, I felt that New Moon was better. Yes, they changed some things but in order to get as much as they could of the book into the movie, that was necessary. I can't wait for Eclipse and Breaking Dawn, not to mention the DVD's.

the movie was great but I don't recommend seeing it at a large crowded theater. We went on Saturday and everyone was screaming everytime Jake came on the screen. It was really annoying and you couldnt hear any of the movie. A lot of people were getting pretty angry. So maybe next time I'll wait a few weeks so I can actually enjoy it. <3

I enjoyed New Moon. I have not read the book, but my daughter has and didn't like the ending. I didn't like the ending myself, but since I know there is another move on the horizon, it made sense to end it there.

We went to the 12:01 am showing on 11/19/09 and waited in line for over 4 hours to make sure all 12 of us got good seats...which we did... and I have to say that NEW MOON was well worth the wait! EVERYONE in our group enjoyed the movie, even my 12 yo son who has never read any of the books. Im now counting down to Eclipse...6/30/10

So first let me throw out there that are a few changes from the book to movie. Of course! When is the movie ever as good as the book. I think the new director did a really good job with this one. There were a few key points of the book that I wish were touch more but overall the feel and tension was the same.
I would recommend this to all Twilight lovers and leave your boyfriends behind unless you want them to have some sensitivity training. lol
I have seen it twice already and gets better with each viewing so enjoy!!!
