There were moments when Kristen and Taylor were trying too hard and the emotions seemed forced and unbelievable. However, both show huge improvement from the first movie. Kristen still has Bella blinking irradically like Bella has dry eye syndrome and it seems Taylor was forced to take off his shirt whenever the director could shove it in the script. The dialogue is often awkward, but the deviations from the book are not offensive and the special effects are good. Overall, an improvement, but a lot of room for more improvements in the script and acting before the third installment of the saga.

A movie that pulls the breath from your lungs the first time Jacob shreds his shirt, causes the entire theater to groan with unrequited desire when Jacob and Bella are thisclose to kissing, along with the CGI werewolves, stick close to the book script, and wonderful acting make this a MUST SEE movie - even if you haven't read the book.

Definitely a romance movie. The fact that vampires and werewolves play a role well, that's secondary. It's not a action packed vampire/werewolves blood bath.setting like Underworld. In fact the intimate scenes remind me of a Turner Classic Movie. A teenage love story. I got roped into taking a female friend because she reads the books. She was a bit disappointed because it left out many "critical" elements from the book.
No, I do not recommend this movie.

I was expecting another Twilight, a lame adaption of the book. Being a huge Twilight fan (and a boy) I thought the first movie was way too soft. This movie delivered and was the best translation from a book to a movie I have ever seen. One thing I especially liked was the way they did the eyes in this movie. In Twilight they were so dull I couldnt tell what color they were most of the time. In this movie they must have fixed their mistake because the eyes were amazing, especially the Volturis. Fanning did an amazing acting job. The only thing I hated was the fact the 3 main Volturi were supposed to be flakey to show their extreme age. As a Twilight fan I was not displeased at all and I dont know anyone who was.

I loved loved loved this movie! I am a huge Harry Potter fan as well and was so disappointed w/HP6 because I loved the book so much. So i was worried that I would feel the same w/New Moon.... not at all! I was so happy with how they put this movie together. There were changes but they were only when necessary (to pick up the pace of the story line). I just was so happy and so completely satisfied w/this movie! The Volturi was so awesome too!

I really liked the movie.
The film is very consistent with the book.
They sticked to the story and transmite the same emotios I felt when I was reading the novel.
Kristen Steward performance is great. I really belived the pain and the suffering.
The special effect to bring the wolves into live were very good too.

I thought the movie was better filmed, I loved the painting sceen and THE MAKE-UP artists were 100% better than those that worked on Twilight (especially Carlisle's make-up). I feel as though the relationship between Jacob and Bella was rushed during the movie. Truthfully the movie did seem rushed all the way through. Robert Pattinson seemed WAY to tense during the movie. I am so happy they stuck with Taylor Lautner I think he carried this movie!!

I went to see New Moon! on the second night of release. I would have to say starting out! The Book it 10 times better (but aren't they all) I really did enjoy the movie, except for all the screaming tweens. After awhile it quieted down and i was able to enjoy the movie. Bottom Line is i think they rushed through the movie, all the emotions, etc.... I think there could of been other parts they could of used - better than others. I felt like before u knew it the movie was over. (Love the ending cliffhanger)

I absolutely hated the book because it had no plot but the movie was amazing. Alternatively,I thought the first book was amazing and the first movie was terrible. There was no romance and the actors did not do a great job, or maybe it was just the producer. I can't wait to see New Moon again this weekend! :)

I absolutely loved the movie! I feel that the kept to the book extremely well, and the scene with the months passing and Bella sitting on the window was just heart wrenching. Clearly this movie isn't for critics it's for fans!!!! And the real fans loved it! I agree with a few reviews on the acting of the werewolves (except for Sam, everyone else made me go "yikes.."). There was some cheesyness (running in Alices vision in clothing from the 1930's.. another yikes..) but I saw it twice and it's definitely NOT the last time I'll be seeing it.

This movie was, in my opinion, perfect. It followed the book to a "T", and I believe the casting was spot-on with all the new characters introduced this time around, specifically Dakota Fanning as Jane. I think this movie could even be recommended to male audiences, as there is more action, and less "mush" than in Twilight. I can't wait to see what they come up with for Eclipse, the next book and hopefully film in the series...Eclipse will be even MORE action and things will start to get crazy!

41/2 stars for sure I thought they did very well with putting a 6 hour book into a 2 hour movie missed some of the connections but on the whole had me wanting more. New Moon was a total thrill to watch. I can't think of one difference from the book when going back over the movie, and I am so ecstatic that they kept it as true as they did. Attempting to cram all of that detail in and condense it into the time that they did was a monumental feat. Dare I say that my only issue with the movie was that it wasn't even longer - not because I felt that they did not do a good job of telling the story, but rather because I just didn't want to leave the theater after the movie had ended!

I, like many other people, prepurchased my tickets to New Moon just like I did for Twilight and prayed that this movie would be better. I was disappointed with the 1st movie while still in hopes that the next movies in the saga would be fantastic...New Moon did not disappoint!
I was AMAZED at the transformation of the wolves, completely impressed with Taylor Lautner's acting skills and highly excited with the way the film was shot. The pace of the film was set up very nicely and I did not feel like there was one spot that dragged on...to include Bella's first four months without Edward.
Overall this movie outshined Twilight in every aspect so I am expecting big things from the next two installments.

Wow! I'm not a fan of book to movie renditions - but this one changed my mind! The entire time I read the book I would go back and forth between Edward and Jacob. The movie successfully accomplished the same!

I was very pleased to see that the movie was pretty much on the dot with the book, that is always the problem with most movies. I enjoyed it greatly can't wait to see eclipse and hope they keep up the good work and stick with the story. I was very happy to see all the major points of the book in the movie. My husband didn't read the book and it made all sense to him, so I guess that is good, right?

I loved this movie so much. I went with a friend and thorughout the whole movie we were like 'don't talk to me. sh!' It was completely mesmerizing and it portrayed images from the book to perfection. On top of that, it was hilarious. Loved the funny moments, loved the fight scenes. Loved everything about it!! Very well done.

The movie turned out to be much better quality than Twilight, most likely due to a higher budget!! The movie was amazing is almost all aspects, the wolves were amazing, the vamps looked excellent, and the action was teeth clenching. A few things were changed and added, expected with books turned to movies, but some of the changes were just silly (like Bella riding on the stranger's bike). I am definitely going to see this one again!
