It was so great seeing the book visualized! This movie had me laughing, crying, amazed! The wolves were amazing. Kristen Stewart is amazing. Every scene during the Edward absense where they showed the depression had me in tears. Wish there were more vampires but we know how the story goes. I thought Rosalee looked weird not beautiful. Could have done without the cliffhanger at the end since we all know what happens.

For the first 2 books in the Twilight saga, I preferred Twilight. But as for the 2 movies, it is New Moon without a doubt. I loved the wolves.

I LOVED Twilight, and saw it many times. I was very excited to see New Moon because the visual effects were going to be so much more...and I was right. They captured the essence of the book very well, and Chris Weitz understood that need for the wolves to be VERY menacing and realistic, and he nailed it. I now can't wait for Eclipse. By the way, I'm 40 and all nine of my fellow movie mates were between 35-45, so we are not teenage Twi-Hards...it's just a good love story.

Overall this movie was very good. No disappointment with the whole Jacob with no shirt haha. The characters and main points in the book were hit on point. I would totally go see this movie again!

The movie was pretty good. I brought my two kids and they loved it. I thought the scene where Becca gets left could have been more real. There really wasn't any crying or real emotion showing that you would expect with someone leaving. With that much love and passion, I would have expected more. I thought the first movie had more passion. Overall, it was pretty good and I am waiting to see the next one.

As a big fan of the books (no, I'm not 14...) I was excited for Twilight to come out last year. Unfortunately I was really diappointed about it because the story was weird and the special effects looked like child-made.
Surprisingly New Moon is a lot better! The Special Effects are actually believable this time and although "Bella" is still really awkward and never smiles the movie is great!
The lack of Edward in the bigger part of the movie is also kind of refreshing as the scenes between him and Bella tend to be really corny.
So: Yes, the movie is definitely better than Twilight and I now can't wait to see whether Eclipse will be even better!

This was just as good as the first Twilight. It is nice to see how a movie can follow the storyline of a book almost perfectly. Edward and Jacob both looked awesome!! I cant wait until 6/30/2010 to see Eclipse!!!!

For the uninitiated and the unread, many points could be lost. For example, one scene mentions Jasper's "feel-good" power and a fan would catch that but a non-fan wouldn't. I also sometimes thought Mr. Pattinson could have been asked to speak his lines just a little louder.
I think Kristen Stewart finally was able to show that her acting has teeth (pun intended!) Her sadness was convincing and heartfelt.
Mr. Lautner was still unconvincing as a wolf (jmo) but I give every credit to him for the effort. He was focused and sweet.
The movie is not for non-fans, in my opinion, and I would just ask them to please just hold off from seeing the movie, perhaps altogether. Makes sense to us fans, them, maybe not.

I went in default with my 14yo daughter, who of course, loved it. But this is a boring movie without much to think about. The brooding is not sexy, though the screeming teenage girls certainly thought differently.

compared to the firs movie, New moon is exceoptionally better. the producers spend alot more time bringing the book to life this time. I am excited with how much all the characters were exactly as I imagined them

I read a review for this movie right before I went to see it and was disappointed that they said it paled to Twilight. After seeing it, I have to say they were completely wrong. I felt it was better than Twilight. For the most part it followed the book with the parts that didn't being better than the book. Alot more action. Special effects were great! I think that the people (men?) writing these reviews have not read the books and can not appreciate the characters and story.

I took my 11 yr. old to see it, we both read the books. As much as this was a good movie, it was really a transitional film for the bigger film Eclipse, and then biggest one yet to be filmed, Breaking Dawn. All movies have transitional ones that have to set the stage for the big up and comers of the saga. As this movie was not great, it was good. Also, the books are always better, that is why I think you are reading some disapointment in these reviews, because books are detailed and just better. It would have been a great movie if you have not read the books already. Will go see again for a second time to see if I missed something, the second time around always gets you paying closer attention to detail.

This movie was put together well for the rating. Some parts seemed to be boring and drag but tries to explain and let the audience comprehend whats going on. If they show a little more about the changing and also the abilities the other vampires have to give a little more into the characters. Overall good for twilight fans, general people too much romancing.

The movie stayed pretty close to the book and you could tell it was a higher budgeted movie. The special effects were much much better than Twilight. If I had not read the book then I don't think I would have liked the movie that much. It is a slow moving love story. And as a grown married woman I do feel a bit like a pedifile lusting after Taylor Lautner, but come on....he is some nice eye candy to look at.

I thought it was a well done adaptation of the book, but better in some ways because it wasn't nearly as depressing as the book was in parts.
The parts with Jacob were fantastic. Taylor Lautner did a great job with a complex character.
The CGI scenes with the wolves were incredible. It captured the transformation as I pictured it when I read the book.
Not sure why it was rated PG-13 since I didn't see any scenes I would have not wanted my daughter to watch. It was appropriate chaste and even the few scenes of violence were not gory or inappropriate to the movie.

The movie probably seems great to someone that has not read the books but I just feel that it did not explain things as well as the should have been. I felt that the end of the movie was very rushed where other parts draged on. There were key points that were down played. The movie was good. I'm a huge Twilight Saga fan but I just wasn't impressed with this movie.

This movie followed the book very well and the changes made in no way effected the overall congruency or material of the story as a whole. I viewed it at 12:01 a.m. and again at 10:00 a.m. on 11-20-09. Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson gave stellar performances and once again brought their characters to life as only they can. The rest of the acting was incredible and that was a surprise to me, having expected much less from some of the actors than what they gave. I will definitely be taking my nieces to see this film and have recommended it to everyone that has asked.

This sequel was a definite improvement from the original Twilight. The writers did a much better job with retaining most the book's structural integrity.
That being said, there are some weak points in the acting. In the rain scene, you can definitely tell the actors are freezing as they can't control their body shakes. But it was shot in Canada, so I'm sure it was mighty cold.
Also, some of the makeup was a little more than obvious.
The special effects did an excellent job creating the mythical werewolves and Edward's body was even more diamondesque this time,
Overall I loved the movie and would definitely see it again. I think it far surpassed Twilight.

I am a woman in my early 30s who went with three of her girlfriends. We've read all the books and had high expectations for this movie. We were all blown away! If you have enjoyed the books (and even if you haven't!), you will love this movie. Unlike the first one, it sticks straight to the novels and will lead nicely into Eclipse. It has plenty of action and romance. I highly recommend this movie!
