This movie was far better than Twilight. However, it was choppy and there was really no character development. The characters were far more believable in New Moon, but it lacks polish. If you are going to see the movie simply because Robert Pattinson is hot, well, then you'll love it. If you are hoping to feel some of the grip that the books have, then you will probably leave disappointed. Overall, if you love the books you'll probably like the movie. If you compare it to Twilight, you will be impressed. If you compare it to other book adaptations like 'Lord of the Rings' or eve 'Harry Potter' you will probably be disappointed. Worth the cost of admission for fans of the book only.

okay well i thought that it definitely was not as good as twilight. The scene with Jasper was way too rushed. When Edward leaves it fast forwards too quickly and you end up not getting a true sense of how depressed she is.(But I have to admit, even though I'm not a fan of Kristin Stewart, she did a really good job in the scene where Edward leaves). I'm obsessed with the books and Eclipse is my all time favorite.This movie was alright but hopefully Eclipse is better :) David Slade made the movie "30 days of night" which is a gory and scary vampire movie--i only hope that Eclipse is NOT like that!

seven words: TAYLOR. LAUTNER. STANDING. IN. POURING. RAIN. SHIRTLESS. Hahahah. If you are a "twi-hard" Team Jacob fan, go see this movie.
Anyway, the movie was pretty good overall, it REALLY went along with the book which made me happy. Personally, i thought the special effects were pretty bad. The ending, was TERRIBLE in my opinion. They definently should not have ended it like that. But whatever. Anyway, if you liked Twilight, you'll like new moon.

I wasn't sure that this movie would be of the same caliber as Twilight; I was wrong. It's even better! The movie was very faithful to the book, and the performances were very moving. I found myself crying several times. I can't wait for Eclipse!

I thought this movie was just okay. It was very slow and was boring at times. I thought the werewolf portion with jacob was very good. However, I would have like to have seen more sparks when Edward and Bella reunite. It was like no big deal. Very bland and the way the movied ended well, lets just say the people I was with was not happy and niether was I.

I thought New Moon was way better than Twilight. I think the best part was when Jacob had no shirt on. (Hint Hint I <3 Team Jacob). The reason I give this movie 5 stars is because this movieis a cliff hanger. I know that Bella is going to end up saying yes to the marrige thing because I have friends that read the book and they also told me that they have a baby. I thought it was really nice that they put more of Alice In this film. It was probably because the fans like Alice more that Bella. The only thing I didnt get was the begining because IDK what it has to do with her grandmother. Well maby It's because she dosn't want to get older than Edward but who knows.

New Moon is Twilight on steriods and all grown up! Summit finally threw some money into this film and it shows. The color and photography was great. Music left a bit to be desired. Taylor did a fantastic job as Jacob. I haven't moved to Team Jocob, but it's hard not to gravitate to the "dark side". The CGI was terrific. The ending had everyone stunned and actually thinking that something happened to the film. No one left the theatre for a few minutes.
It was so worth the wait and I can't wait to see it again. Won't wait on line for 2 hours next time. If New Moon stepped it up a "whole 'nother notch" can you just imagine what is going to happen with Eclipse.
Summit - Breaking Dawn - got to be made or I'll never see another Summit movie

Unlike the first movie, this was was more like the book then I can express. There were rumors that Mr. Lautner would be let go after Twilight. Keeping Taylor Lautner was the best thing they could have done. Not having Bella (Kristen Stewart) narrate everything was great. They let the movie play just like the book in order. There were some things like the receptionist at the Volturi was described to be bIack in the book and was white in the movie. And, thank god they didn't draw out Bella's depression stage like the book. But other then that, I was very pleased. I would go see it again and looking forward to the next movie.

I liked this movie! It was DEFINATELY better than "Twilight". I was SUPER dissappointed that "Twilight" was HORRIBLE and I didn't have such high expectations for New Moon. No movie is ever as great as the books but I think the director did a great job putting the story line together and sticking to the story for the most part. It didn't look cheaply made like the first movie, and the acting was much better. There were a few cheesy parts in it, but all in all, I really liked the cast and the way this one was done! I would recommend this movie to everyone!

This movie was good. I enjoyed it better than than Twilight, even though New Moon swas my least favorite book. Definitely worth seeing. Edward is cuter than the first movie, not as cartoonish, but Jacob is a hunk! If I were Bella, I would say Edward who? But when Edward and Bella are reunited there is big time chemistry. Can't wait for the next movie.

read the books only to see if appropiate for my 12 yr old. As with the books I felt like slapping Bell and telling her to grow up. To actually see this on the big screen was even more frustrating. I get the hunk factor and the hype that goes with it, what I am perplexed about is how can todays girls feetl good about a movie
that portrays young girls as weak and totally incapable of living without their first love.
Kutos to the 3 main actors however, they managed to take a very very weak plot and make it entertaining.

This is the first time that a movie met my predicted expectations. I felt that the new director really brought the movie up another level. Chris Weitz did beautifully with the cinematography and portrayed the action/danger scenes with great effect. He made the vampires actually seem threatening while fighting as opposed to Hedwicke's fighting (it just didnt look like fighting when it came to the Ballet Studio). The plot was true enough to the book and captured the same emotions intended in the book. There was great acting this time from all the characters. Gorgeous locations and color palettes. Overall I have nothing to complain about. New Moon so far is the best film in the saga.

Chris Weitz did a great job directing New Moon. I have not read the book in about a year and can't remember every single detail, but from what I remember it was pretty much covered. I love the books and love everything that has to do with Twilight so im glad the movie turned out so well. In Twilight the music was pretty much the same throughout the entire movie. It was as if it wasnt a movie at all, more like a play you would watch in an auditorium. New Moon was more like the movie Twilight should have been.

It was a great movie! I was pleasantly surprised, since I was dissappointed with Twilight. The action scenes had me on the edge of my seat, and I truly felt Bella's conflict on which guy to choose! Taylor Lautner looked yummy :)

Before I went see the movie on opening day, I was reading a bunch of reviews. They had me wondering if it was even going to be good. But when me and my boyfriend went see it, I was blown away. The movie was amazing. I don't see why people are saying that it was bad, or that it was a failure. It was, to me, better than Twilight. They may have changed around a few events in the film, but it was all in there. So, overall it was defiantly one of the best movie that I've seen in a long time

Wow!! Not sure what changed--better directing or what--but New Moon puts its precursor to shame!! The plot was substantial, the camera angles and visual dynamics riveting, and it you could totally follow along without any prior head-knowledge from the book. A lot of brilliant acting...better from the first...though some was still a little dry. Overall AWESOME film and I can't wait to take all my friends!!! BRAVO!!!

it was pretty good very good perfect.....my friends never even heard of it and after the movie they wanted to by the books and watch it again. i was very pleased and felt it went along with the book better than twilight did i would recommend it to anyone who asks.

This was a fantastic movie, and what I liked most about it was that it stayed true to the book! Why waste the time adding in other pointless elements when the books are amazing! Kristen Stewarts acting was way better this time, and I loved the director's take on the action sequences. Very good movie...I went team Jacob for a little while...but ended back on team Edward....Robert Pattinson is going to have an amazing career!!

New Moon was an excellent movie and both crowds leaving the theater, male and female, seemed to love the film. The acting was 10x better than in Twilight and I could definitely sense myself being emotionally affected by this movie. The director, more so than Catherine Hardwicke, stays true to the book and the result is such a great, emotional movie. I wouldn't hesitate for a second to recommend this movie and in fact plan on going back to the movies in the future to see New Moon again.
