This was one of the better movies I've seen. I think RDJr is one of the better actors out there.
The action and scenes were spectactular. We are in our 50's but I'd recommend this to any one over probably 10. It was funny too so that helped. GREAT MOVIE

The movie was a fun take on Sherlock Holmes and both Robert Downey Jr and Jude Law did good jobs in the movie. Rachel McAdams was not too believable. Overall Guy Ritchie put the action front and center for this movie which made the movie almost perfect for a holiday suspension of disbelief.

The new Sherlock Holmes was incredible. Superb acting by all, expecially Jude Law. Story was fast-moving and interesting with no slow parts. Some scenes were a little intense for young kids, but, thats why it was PG-13. Cinematography was incredible too with a very real-looking London. The twists were in the classic Holmes style with his intelligence always winning. Very good movie all around.

Thought I was at a devil movie almost got up and walked out, because of the satanic beginning. Stayed to see what was going to happen. Fell asleep at one point, but it picked up later. Good. I really like Robert Downey Jr, Awesome actor!!!

I hope that this is a start of a series - I really liked the retelling of the Holmes story. Special effects were woven in well, and the 2 + hours was not a problem. Very enjoyable, Mr Ritchie.

The only resemblance to earlier Sherlock Holmes books and movies is the names of the characters. This is a good period piece of adventure in London with a lot of action and special effects. It is a little difficult to follow in the early minutes, but it becomes absorbing as it progresses.

Movie is fast-paced with plenty of CGI to butter it up, however, the movie is a little to long for the plot. It seems to drag in places. Acting is superb and character development is ok. I think I would have liked a little more drama and less CGI. Enjoy!

Downey has done it again!!! Jude Law was brillant. The movie was fantastic, one I plan on seeing again. The action, jokes and the brotherly bound between Holmes and Watson, was just so enjoyable. A true film that you will want to watch over and over again...

Took the family (ages 56 - 19) and we were unanimous...this is a GREAT movie. Plenty of excitement, action, suspense...not too predictable, occasional humor, NO gratuitous s e x scenes.. just a very entertaining movie. We ALL recommend it!

While this story pits reality againse fanatasy, in typical Shelock Holmes genre, logic and common sense prefail. Easy on the eyes and just plain fun I'm glad I ignored the critics who obviously don't know what makes a movie run to success. The dark and elusive presence of Moriarity brought back memories of many nights of reading Doyle's tales of intrigue. I can't wait for the Professor's sequel!

Yes.. it starts a bit slow- but once the momentum starts- it doesnt stop! Very entertaining... great chemistry with Downey & Law-- WE CAN'T WAIT FOR THE SEQUELS! Saw the movie Christmas night. It was very entertaining! There was action, comedy, romance and drama!!!
I thought all the actors were excellent in their roles; Robert Downey, Jr. and Jude Law in particular. The villain was pretty sinister in his part too.
I would recommend this movie as great entertainment. I will go to see it again when the lines are not so long.

Wonderful atmosphere! Kept my blaze husband entertained for over two hours and even Avatar could not do that. Jude Law and Robert Downey Jr. were great together and the female actors truly added to the story. This was mainly an introductory story to the sequel, where I am ssume we will see some real Doyle stories. Made my 14 year old want to start reading the books. Cannot ask for better than that.

I'm a fan of Robert Downey Jr., so I really wanted to love this movie. Unfortunately, there was not enough editing and there was too much activity. Guy Richie should have brought a more critical eye to the project; if he had made a more concise picture, the the enjoyability factor would have sky rocketed. In the mess of activity, dialogue, and story line, there were still several fun elements to the show. It's worth seeing, but it didn't reach my level of expectation.

It was nice to see a movie that actually had some dialogue instead of all action. Not all movie goers only want to see fast cars, lots of shooting, and whorish - looking women of indeterminate genetic background. That said, this movie had too many action sequences, and relied too much on special effects when it did not need to. The actors were strong enough to carry it. Rachel McAdams, wow!

I thought the beginning of the movie and the end were very good. It got very slow towards the middle. The banter between the 2 main characters was clever and humorous at times. My 15 yo daughter thought it was boring, but my son and husband LOVED it.
