When my friend suggested we go see Iron Man 2 this weekend, I was a little skeptical. Having not seen the first one, I wasn't exactly excited. Still, she sat me down to watch the first one, and as soon as it was over I demanded we go see the second. It far surpassed my expectations, and left me rivited in my seatt. The effects were amazing, and it was both action packed and emotionally valid. I would recommend going whole heartedly, as well as sticking around after the credits for an added treat :)

I have to admit to some trepidation in going to see this movie. But I was happily surprised by how good it was. there were a few places that felt bogged down, but you find that in most movies anymore. The CGI shots were sharp and the sound was right on. And AC/DC never sounded better.

This movie is a great way to kick of the Summer Blockbusters. They turned up the action and left a lot of treats for the hardcore fans of Iron Man and all things Marvel Comics. I suggest you stick around after the credits for a awesome easter egg. Although, if you're not current on whats going on or who is playing who for what reasons I suggest you look at the first film. Other than that, I think this film will be the #1 blockbuster of the Summer. And if you want to make it a greater experience, go on the weekends in the morning when tickets are cheapest and look at it in IMAX!

This movie was good. Mickey Rourke was excellent as the obsessed, tatooed and learing Ivan Vanko. Robert Downey continued his perfectly cast role of Tony Stark with ease. Gwenyth Paltrow and ScarJo added a cool, tough and sexy vibe. It is true if you liked the first you will enjoy this one. There was some definite breaks in the action but when the action scenes do happen they are very impressive and fun. Great way to start the summer movie season.

Good but not as good as the first Ironman, I enjoyed the new characters but Robert Downey Jr. was off his game. Needed more fighting scenes with Scarlett, now she was amazing. In my opinion, when the villain is a better actor than the hero there is a problem with the movie. I would still recommend the movie the special effects/ CGI were very fun.

Marvel deliver another hit with this latest installment in the IRONMAN franchise. The effects were top quality during the movies many explosive sequences. This was actually one of the few times that movie benefitted rather than suffered from adding several players to the main cast.
Robert Downey Jr. continues to charm his way through the role of the nihlistic playboy Tony Stark while Gwyneth Paltrow also reprises her role as gal-friday Pepper Potts. The main cast change that ruffled a few feathers was Don Cheadle as Stark's best pal Col. Rhodes. Honesty, I belive Cheadle made the character edgier and more lifelike than his predeccesor.The biggest change to this movie was the addition of several new characters.
Mickey Rourke played the role of WHIPLASH captivatingly and made you both detest him and admire his ingenuity and intelligence. Sam Rockwell as Mr. Hammer Tony's competitor was actually enjoyable but a little bit too goofy to be taken seriously. Scarlett Johansen LOOKED great as Black Widow but in all honesty came across as little more than a flat stock character spy-girl. Though,Samuel L Jackson's rendering of Nick Fury was actually better than several of his other roles in films as of late. The character returns Jackson to the Badass role for which people love him. In conclusion Ironman II is worth the money to see as a movie for the actors performances alone but its made doubley good if you are a comic book fan and understand the multitude of hidden Marvel 'IN' jokes sprinkled through the film.

Disappointed. Didn't seem RD jr.'s heart was in it. Too much thrown into the plot with little explanation. The action scenes were clearly for effect and made little sense. Just couldn't root for Iron Man this time. =( Overall, a letdown. Even my kids weren't impressed. Quiet on the way home. Last time they were pumped up and excited, chatting about it the whole way.

I'm kinda disappointed they changed the actor playing the colonel. He still did a good job, but i don't like seeing different people in sequels to a movie. Makes me think about that instead of the actual movie. There are many action scenes, smooth slowmotion effects, and alot of boom and bangs. Unfortunately, some of the glass breaking sounds were not very nice to my ears. All in all, a good movie for those who love sci-fi action that is within our realm of imagination.

I highly reccomend an "Enhanced Experience" theater - #9 at Northpark for example - it really does enhance an action film with great music like this one. Robert Downey, Jr. is just so great to watch - a movie star and boy does he sell his character. Gwenneth Paltrow as Pepper Potts is all things - lovely, strong, weak, tender - a true multi layered portrayal. Scarlett and Samuel Jackson are superb too - especially Scarlett's fight scenes. But - Micky Roark ran away with the show. He was sympathetic and scary at the same time - an iconic villain.

Iron Man was "better" but Iron Man 2 is very close. Better how? The creation of the character to me is more interesting than the continuation of the character. I liked the continuity between these two movies, had the same feel to them. Great actors...I just wanted to smack Hammer he was so smarmy and obnoxious, and who makes a better villian who needs-a-good-grooming-session than Mickey Rourke!?! I will add this to my limited movie collection when it comes out on DVD.

"Iron Man 2" had pretty big shoes to fill following the awesome first installment, and like many sequels it ultimately falls short. That's not to say there isn't plenty to enjoy with the new film. Robert Downey, Jr. is still great and the witty dialogue is present and accounted for. The action scenes are few and far between this time but I didn't mind too much since the original was just as engaging when Tony wasn't in the suit as well and that's still the case here, even more so. The action scenes are cool and well done, especially the "explosive" finale. Mickey Rourke and Sam Rockwell are both very good and even thought the film runs the risk of having too many villians (Don't worry, this is no "Spider-Man 3") they are good enough to warrant the crowded cast. RECOMMENDED.

Iron Man 2 was a lot of fun, with great action sequences and effects. However, in a lot of ways it just seemed like a lead-up to the future Avengers movie, with a lot of new characters introduced and very little actual character development or story telling. Overall, it was a lot of fun and worth seeing, but I don't think it was as good as #1.

If you are a fan of Iron man this does the comic justice. The humor is still there, the relationship with Pepper is still there and they are advancing the relationship between Pepper and Tony, which may not be what you want but it is character growth. Not as great as the first Iron Man but still a great summer movie. Also it was worth the ultra-screen.

Entertaining! Maybe not quite as good as the first, but we will certainly go see Iron Man 3 when it comes out, too. Robert Downey, Jr. is MY favorite hero!!!

This movie is exactly what you should be looking for. It does everything right. The humor is frequent and the action is intense. Tony Stark is the perfect anti-hero who you love rooting for as you shake your head and laugh at his quirky personality. Also, there were plenty of, "HOLY CRAP, did you see that?!?!" moments. With hints of things to come, I think this movie was at least as good as Iron Man, if not better. Regardless, if you enjoyed Iron Man, you will not be dissappointed.

Awesome movie! I loved it! I almost liked it better than the first one, and I loved that one! It was great, just the right amt of action, and romance, etc. It was perfect...the critics were WRONG abt this one!
