I thought the movie was well shot, well paced, gritty, thrilling and depicted friendships forced on people by where theey grew up - and chose to stay. Ben Affleck did a wondrful job as director and redeemed himself as an actor. Jeremy Renner was staggeringly good and played a very scary man. The two women, Lively and Hall, were excellent - just right, in fact and Jon Hamm was totally believable and not likeable - great job Jon. The balance of the cast did an amazing job - a tribute to Affleck and to them. Camera work was another charachter in the movie - and a star. Special effects and stunts were fabulous - especially the bullet holes.I will see it again and again. It was that good.
I highly reccomend an "Enhanced Experience" theater - #9 at Northpark for example - it really does enhance an action film with great music like this one. Robert Downey, Jr. is just so great to watch - a movie star and boy does he sell his character. Gwenneth Paltrow as Pepper Potts is all things - lovely, strong, weak, tender - a true multi layered portrayal. Scarlett and Samuel Jackson are superb too - especially Scarlett's fight scenes. But - Micky Roark ran away with the show. He was sympathetic and scary at the same time - an iconic villain.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

I was impressed with the smartness of this movie compared with other comedy for the 18 -35 age group. Where it was derivative, it was intelligently so. Moretz stole the movie but everybody was good y . On a comparison, it was what Warren Beatty’s Dick Tracy should have been and put all the Bat and Supermans to shame and kinda gives Spidey a timid sense. Inglorious Bastards at the comics.
