With this movie being a sequel, I figured it would be entertaining but not great. I actually loved it, just as much as the first Iron Man movie, possibly more. Robert Downey Jr. was brilliant as he always is, as was Mickey Rourke, Don Cheadle, and Scarlett Johansson. With a cast like that you can't go wrong. Throw in Samuel L. Jackson to top it all off. I can't wait for the Avengers movie and Iron Man 3. I'll probably go see it at least once more before it leaves theaters.

I saw this movie on Mother's Day with my son. It was a real treat - we had seen the first Iron Man together so this was an enjoyable follow up. Good plot, great effects. Rob Downey Jr. actually showed a little humanity in the role. The casting was perfect.

This was a good sequel. I'm not a fan of comic book movies, but I enjoy seeing them when the acting is good. These guys did a good job. If you *are* a Marvel fan, there's a very short Easter Egg clip after the (very long!) credits so you might want to stay around for that.

I found that the movie tried to introduce too many new charcters and didn't give us enough of the ones from the first movie. New characters need development and there were just too many to know who was who and whehter we should like them or not. The bad guy (Roarke) was a pretty bad ass bad guy. But he wasn't made into someone we wanted to hate. We had no reason to want him to fail. The climatic fight scene with him was hardly climatic either. It seemed the movie was more concerned with setting up the S.H.I.E.L.D. tie-ins and possible spin-offs. However, that said it was still a decent movie that didn't drag or have too many lulls. Downey and Paltrow have great chemistry and the Iron Man hero is a good one. I recommend it - but as the franchise continues I don't think this will be the most memorable installment.

It was a very well done sequel. To hope for it to be better than the original isn’t a fair expectation to live up to in my thoughts. My seven year old went with me to see it for mothers day and both of us were thoroughly entertained, even through the second acts character evolution.
Sure it had it’s faults (not fully utilizing ScarJo or Mickey Rourke were both a little disappointing) but overall I was fulfilled.
And Sam Rockwell kicks effing ass!

As sequels go, this was pretty good. Given the ups and downs of his life, I think Robert Downey, Jr. has a particular understanding of the conflicts of Tony Stark's life. The introduction of the Black Widow and Nick Fury seemed to slow the movie down a bit. It felt like Fury was thrown in primarily to set up The Avengers film, nothing more. it also seemed odd to me that the best fight scene in the movie was between Stark and Rhodey. By contrast, their battle with Whiplash felt too short and almost anti-climactic. But for what I call a "popcorn" movie, this certainly fills the bill.

I thought overall the movie was excellent. However, I did feel they were taking the Tony Stark character a bit too far with the outrageousness of his behavior. There were a lot of characters that they were trying to define...and at times made the movie jump around a bit.
Overall, though, it was a good build upon the first....and it is slowly tying into the whole avengers ensemble!!

Iron Man 2 wasn't a horrible sequel. There was a lot going on what with the set up to The Avengers, if that is what was happening, and then the other story line they were trying to follow. All in all it wasn't horrible but it wasn't great either. I'd definately rent it but I'd think twice about paying the money to go see it at the movies.

What I liked most about this movie was the pacing. The movie did have some parts that could have been explained a bit more and also Black Widow was just an intro character, unfortunately.
War Machine was just like he was supposed to be essentially just as strong as IM but diff specs. Hope he gets his own movie. Although for his most interesting story line (bucking with Norman Osborn) is WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY after the current Marvel Universe. Don Cheadle was much better than T Howard. Howard played a punk Rhodey. Cheadle was really cool and his demeanor actually fit a soldier's.
Also for those that thought this should have been more action than you dont understand that Marvel is about exposing their characters not making Transformers 2. Tony Starks while brilliant and brave is a fractured soul. Just giving him Pepper Potts in the movie is waaaaaaay too goood for him.
On last thing. The comedy was great.Mickey Rourke was great and could have been better/ He was as gritty as the PG-13 label allowed him to be. He stole the show anytime he was onscreen.
I liked this movie much more than the first movie. Then again I'm not a HUGE IM fan. I actually buy Thor books (possibly the best series ever, go read the books from decades ago and you'll still love the character). And Captain America's books after 9/11 are superb.
If Marvel movies EVER get to their comic storylines that REALLY make their characters great $$$$ will come pouring in. I mean seriously whiplash??? I hear Favreau is hoping for Mandarin, we'll see.
Anyway this was another transition movie. First movie suit was created. 2nd Tony beats the blood poisoning and War Machine is created. I liked the story but you cant have Iron Man fighting nobody's all the time. He needs to fight someone with a REALLY big name in the next movie.
Also make the movie a bit grittiier. It did do a good job but you could tell JV held back a lot.
CGI was amazing. This movie would have been worth seeing in a real 3-D format. Not all 3-D is created equally. Do not go see movies whose 3-D was made after the fact, with a technique called "layering". It sucks.

I believe that you coould not protray the transformation of iron man in this movie. Bravo!!!! Iron Man 2 was awesome, totally entertaining, and just as good as the first. I'm so excited to see what comes next. Saw it on an ultra screen, and this was BY FAR the best movie I have seen in a theater in ages.

I was pleasantly surprised that the movie was done well. Sequels in general usually do not come out as well as the original. I am not saying this sequel is as good as the original, but what I am saying is it was much better than sequels usually are. Would definitely recommend seeing this movie.
