My husband & i both really liked this film! It was an engrossing story & very poignant, with beautiful images of India. It was at times hard to watch as the story unfolded, but at the same time I was riveted and couldn't look away. A truly wonderful movie with fantastic performances by all!

The age appropriate actors did a great job depicting the characters at each stage of their lives. The struggles of poverty were familiar. The use of flashback to tell the story was well done. A love story, a fight for survival, a modern day Oliver Twist with a view of India and its great challenges.

A very well orchestrated movie that had all the aspects. It was touching but at the same time shows the darker side of life in poor communities of the world. The plot made it look more like a commercial movie rather than a documentary in my opinion. The music seemed to be very soulful and reverberating freshly.

Neither my husband nor I really knew what this movie was about but had heard the buzz about it so figured we'd check it out. We loved it! Although some of the images were difficult to watch, it just made it all the more real. The writing and acting were great and I ended up feeling so happy walking out of there. Clearly a movie deserving of awards. Meaningful themes weave through the entire movie so watch closely. Puzzle as to why genre is "comedy" for trust me it is not a comedy. If not for the "R" rating every child in America should watch for them to better appreciate the wonderful life afforded in the United States. Movie gives a glimpse into Third World contitions and contrasts conditions of societies governed by the rule of law and those which are less such. If you have a spoiled, sef-centered teenager, take them to see Slumdog Millionaire. Maybe it will make them reevaluate what they hold valuable.

This was an amazing movie. The story was incredibly unique as was also an eye-opener to life in India (although 20 years ago) , It made me sit up and take notice- after the movie, I am driven to learn more about poverty, corruption, and orphans of India.

This is a good movie, but not a great movie, a classic feelgood film. Predictable story line. Very good child actors, and the two leads are unforgettable. The one thing this movie helps you understand is the tremendous emergence of India as a world economic power, and the unbelievable contrasts between the poor and the wealthy, and the daily travails the poor must do to survive. I particularly liked the music and the editing style.

Far too loud, graphic, and definitely a film I couldn't wait to see the end of. I went to be entertained, but this film was meant to impress only film industry peers. I know there are parts of human nature that suck, but who needs to live it up close and loud? I want my money back.

Disgusting, boring and sad movie - Who said it is Comedy??? Really people.. wake up.. Whats all the hype abt? What is the theme of movie? is it really so extraordinary? What has happened to people's taste ? I am doubting the capability of People making all these award Nominations... Dont waste ur time and money , ust becuse it has been nominated...

I don't even have the words to describe how I felt while watching this movie. Your heart aches for the "slumdog"... a powerful film. Definately the best move I've seen in a long time.

This movie came from no where and delivered a masterpiece. I've read the negative comments about the film and I found several that seemed ignorant. Some stated that the film was too violent when this country invests billions of dollars into non-fictional horror movies repeatedly (ex. SAW). In addition, others stated that Indians would find this movie demeaning because of the strong scenes that were displayed for audiences to see. There are only a few countries that are as fortunate as America while others struggle in poverty and corruption. Yes, Indians may be disturbed by the movie but they also understand how their culture and country is just like how the Japanese felt when Pearl Harbor was released. go watch and be amazed!
