I actually went to this movie under protest, because I thought, like other reviewers here, that the way it was marketed, it wasn't my kind of humor. Little did I know. What a refreshing, unique film this is! I defy anyone not to walk out singing "Rock Me Sexy Jesus," or one of the other zippy tunes in the film. Brash, funny, unique, but with tons of heart. A truly independent work. I even got the soundtrack (has to be downloaded from amazon, but what the hey?). This film hits the mark in so many ways. Caution: NOT for kids!

I expected this movie to be silly-funny, and it certainly had those elements. But I was surprised that it managed to be more intelligent than you'd expect from the film's marketing. It actually gets across some fairly deep concepts, but in a light-hearted style that doesn't take itself too seriously. It gradually dawned on me during the film that it was subtly sophisticated. I'd like to see this film get broader distribution and better marketing.

I like quirky movies, so I went to see this movie on my own. It was funny, touching, crazy, exciting, sad and full of unexpected joy. I think it will not be seen by enough people because of the the way it is being advertised. It broke all the rules about opinions, race, people and their idea of other's unlike themselves. This movie should be used as a field trip for all high school students and teachers. I loved it

This quirky little movie didn't appeal to me initially but since I was coaxed to see it with a few friends, i'm glad I did. It had many laughs, twisted jokes and inuendos. "Rock Me Sexy Jesus" was a scream!
A must see silly movie that actually makes sense.

This movie made me laugh, it made me squirm in my seat a bit, but mostly it made me smile. I enjoyed the off-beat humor and the musical numbers are surprisingly good. In all it was an enjoyable experience.

The movie was overall good. I loved the last 20 minutes most. Wish they showed mre of the show in development. But had a nice feel to it. Steve Coogan is very funny. Catherine Keener's part could haveben better developed as well as some of the students.
