My girlfriend and I were really looking forward to Surrogates and we actually went to the theater (which is rare) to see it on opening weekend (which is EXTREMELY rare). Overall, the movie was entertaining (I know this because she didn't fall asleep during the film... but then again, she did take a nap before we went). The effects were okay and the plot was actually pretty good, but I couldn't help thinking there could have been something more to the film. There wasn't a lot of action and the suspenseful parts weren't all that suspenseful. Maybe it was the PG-13 rating and the fact that they couldn't be too graphic, but this one left me a little flat.

The somewhat obvious plot line didn’t help. I had Die Hard Déjà vu a couple of times while watching the movie. I never found myself looking at my watch, or thinking that the story line was slow. It’s a good movie, but could have been much better.

I found the movie to be definitely entertaining, but it lacked a lot in storyline and depth. Bruce Willis , of course, was Bruce's best in action..however the worrying over the wife sequences was not his best. I liked the idea behind the movie, but something just seemed out of reach with the delivery. But I would purchase the DVD....don't see a sequel in the making though.

I was so excited about seeing this movie because I loved the idea of it. I thought it was clever. However I felt they were really lacking in the plot line. You felt like the movie was really building up to something good but in the end it left you with one thought "thats it?" very disappointed. But all in all it was entertaining, just not worth $12.00. I dont consider myself a hard to please movie viewer. I can pretty much be happy with any movie I see if it keeps me entertained. But this movie was completely lame. The story line wasnt even believable! I understand that most stunts arent realistic but at least it's entertaining! This movie struct all the wrong chords when it comes to criterias you set for a decent movie. Storyline was weak, acting was average (but you cant hold that against the actors when there's not much to go on), stunts unimpressive, no humor, completely predictable!

Do not have high expectations on this movie. If you are a action lover, this would be a 3.5 out of 5 Movie. At least keeps you glued to the seats for 1 hr. 30 min. Definitely thought provoking. I was hoping for it to be more unique but it reminded me too much of I-Robot and AI. Robots becoming more alive than humans. It was a good watch but I wouldn't see it in the theatre or purchase it when released on video, once was enough. One thing going for it was the Boston setting.

Potentially a very thought provoking movie but I expected a more complete story line. Too many questions were left unanswered. The timeline intro was quite a leap of faith. It reminds me somewhat of the Matrix. In the Matrix, people live in a virtual digital reality whereas in Surrogates they live in a virtual physical reality. I thought it a new and interesting concept. Yeah, in a future with robots we wouldn't be driving today's cars or using phones but the concept is a possible future.

The concept of the movie was great, stay home, sit one a couch, get fat and let your surrogate go out and do all the work for you, The plot was amazing and the action sequences were well done with an unexpected twist. Totally recommended.

I had imagined going into this movie that it would be some kind of imagined world like minority report. The truth was that it was poorly acted (despite Bruce Willis) and the props were laughable. There were people driving modern day cars, old honda civics, toyota prius and chevy cars while there are all these super-realistic surrogate robots. It was as if there was some huge budget shortfall when making the movie - I guess they spent all their money on Bruce Willis. The plot line was cliche, (with anti-surrogate zones - which resembled some kind of mad-max colony.
All in all I liked the idea of the movie, but it did not deliver. There was no depth to the movie.It seemed to me this movie would be better suited to be made for TV.

Not what I expceted. The movie was pretty good actually. No unnecessary violence (there was violence, but it had purpose). It's PG-13 so no f-bombs (which we expcect of Mr. Willis). For a robot movie, it had more plot than I expected. However, it was rather short and left a lot of unanswered questions and I don't forsee any sequals to answer those questions. All in all a good movie.

Acting and action was excellent. The story disturbing and innovative, yet unsatisfyingly familiar. Worth a box of popcorn, but not if you have to stand in line too long.

This was a great movie-I enjoyed it more than I anticipated. Bruce Willis plays the type character he does best-disenchanted cop out to save the world. The story is well done and holds your interest-shows you just how lazy and willing to follow the flock people are. The effects were well done. All in all it was great enertainment which is what a movie should be.
