Great movie, characters well defined and so real. I loved the relationship between the 2 women. I was drawn into the relationship of the sisters. I was really disappointed how Sanaa's character didn't stand by her man and support and encourage him. It was good seeing Tyler in a more serious character, the humor was still there, but he did wonderful with his character.

Although not the same type of ridiculous humor we are accustomed to seeing with Tyler Perry's plays, the issues addressed in this film were well done. I still enjoyed some good laughter as well. I would definitely recommend seeing the film if you want to be entertained. Take some friends along. I did, and we talked to the screen and each other just as Perry would have it!

This was Tyler Perry's best movie to date! This movie had you laughing, crying, ready to fight and thankful all at the same. Sanaa definitely played her part. It was truly unlike any other role that she has done. I love Kathy Bates, so her role was amazing. It was not a Misery moment (I like how Alfre's character slipped that in). Alfre Woodard always has an outstanding role. Taraji delivered as the sister of Sanaa's character. I could relate to her role. Prayerfully, Tyler will create another great movie, not based on one of his plays. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE ALL of his work. I just enjoyed this movie more because it was FRESH.

I loved this movie. It was funny, dramatic, spiritual, made you cry and cheer. This was an excellent movie. I could not have imagined a better cast, well written, directed and the length of the film was great. The movie ended when it should have. I do like all Tyler's movies, I'm not his biggest fan but I LOVED THIS MOVIE. Maybe it's because it didn't feel like a play, even though his plots are always the same (in my opinion): person's on top of the world, world crumbles, world comes back together. What I love about his movies are: no sex/nudity, limited swearing, and people always get what they deserve in the end. I notice on this site, the genre is listed as comedy, but this is a DRAMA, not a comedy. Nice and clean but with a serious message.
