Going into this, I felt it couldn't possibly live up to the hype. But since I was going to give it a fair chance, I also took the opportunity to make this my first Imax experience. To say it was a great film is a understatement. Ledger's performance as Joker truly is a thing to behold, as he takes you into the mind of a madman unlike anyone before him. With his ticks and speech plays throughout the film, he makes you honestly fear him as the villian. The Imax filming was amazing, giving you the feel of total immersion into the film in several different segments. All in all, I will see this film again when it hits DVD, knowing that the story and the film are superb, even though I haven't figured out how to Imax my house yet.

Every so often a movie comes along that is simply done "right". This is one of them. You can cherry pick about some little things here and there, but overall, what a fun time it was to watch this movie! Don't see it any other way than IMAX. I can see Chris Nolan's vision of a full movie in IMAX. I hope his next Batman story does just that. The success of this one speaks to a truth, "if you make it, they will watch. (IF you make it right)
Go see it, you'll have a wondeful time, and the story explores the layers of humanity and how people can become corrupted. It is a metaphor for ourselves that we all need to explore.

The Dark Knight was everything I had hoped it would be as a follow up to Batman Returns. I am not into "hokey" like the old flicks. The only negative was Maggie Gyllenhaal. I really don't like her as an actor. Too frumpy for the role and totally unimpressive. The special effects were awesome and the lighting set the ominous tone. Heath Ledger? What can I say except he truly did an Oscar performance. So sad he cannot continue the legend.

WOW!!! Heath Ledger should earn an oscar for his performance. He did a much better job portraying the Joker than good ole Jack Nicholson did. This was an excellent movie in every aspect. I heard many claim it was to long. I could have ewatched another 2 hours.

I've seen this twice and plan to see it at least once more before it leaves the theater ~ it was no less enthralling the second time around. This film has just the right combination of depth, mayhem and pitch-perfect performances. Do not settle for renting this when it comes on video. The Dark Knight has completely redefined what a comic book movie should be. Hands down.
Also, hats off to Heath Ledger's role in the film which completely outshines, and, at times, washes out, everyone else's contribution, and is by far his most dark and chilling role to date. Leaving the theatre is bitter-sweet for obvious reasons, which needn't be stated here. He will be missed.
But, as said previously, this movie is very entertaining. You almost forget the minor problems or issues you find in it. It's set a new bar for not only comic movies, but film in general. I feel bad for any movie, even another sequel of this one, having to follow this act.

No doubt the movie was extravagant and spectacular visuals-wise. But do all the stunts have to be in the night. There was a lot of confusion as to what's going on on the screen. Also didn't make good use of the bat mobile. I think it has a screen time of less than 5 min in the 2 1/2 hr movie. The bike was good....but was never able to get a good view of it...there should be shots of it in Batman's "garage". The joker dominated batman in the movie. The editing was too slick and before you can understand what happened it's over and gone. The sound effects were good...but I'd say it's not a movie worth watching on an IMAX.

This latest addition to the remake of the classic batman franchise was great overall, But as good an actor as Christian Bale is, his batman voice needed re-working into something more coherent. I found myself reminiscing of the older Batman: The Animated Series. The location was very unlike what I felt a Gotham city should be. Too open, not enough tall buildings, not "dark" enough. This movie was still one worth a second visit on a normal screen just to see what normal theatergoers missed in the imax version. Only when you watch this movie can you really appreciate the way Heath Ledger brought the Joker to life. Oscar post-mortem? A nomination nod seems appropriate at the least.

Relentless brutal sadism - this Knight is dark indeed. Heath is brilliant as he digs deep into psychpathology here - so be prepared. The plot is carefully constructed, the dialog is real and smart, and the directing/pacing of this 2.5 hour movie is impeccable. In the non-IMax, it was a little hard to hear the dialog, and the dialog is important in this movie (so rare in a film of this kind!). There is a lot to notice in this movie, especially in any scene with the Joker. The Joker is a maniac, but he's also very subtle. Heath as the Joker steals this show, and the part as written and directed is worthy of him. (God bless you, Heath.) You will find yourself remembering the scenes with the Joker for days. But there is not a false note anywhere in the acting or writing of this movie. Christopher Nolan has my gratitude for this incredible work of film.

No doubt this is one of the best batman movies. The director did a fantastic job give depth to each characters in the movie. The joker character is fascinating, not just the performance, but the role he plays in the plot. It's totally worth it to see it in the IMAX. I have now seen this twice on IMAX, and I LOVED the effects in this over the top movie. I agree it is perhaps 1/2 hour too long, but never a dull moment. WHY on earth did they give Batman that super creepy voice? Just made him weird. As for Heath as the Joker. He was actually rational in his reasoning but maniacal in his actions. Superb acting and sad that it is his final performance. MUST SEE and more than once! I enjoyed it MORE the second time! Run, don't walk...

Uptil now I had just heard but that performance by heath ledger was mind blowing. Although I was disappointed with the limited role of two face. But thats ok! I saw it in IMAX and it was just amazing!

I loved it! Heath Ledger was perfect for this role. I was very impressed by his performance. The only thing that threw me off was the casting director picking Maggie Gyllenhal for this movie. Why her?

I did not see this movie in the regular theater, but I can say that at many points in the movie, you feel as if you are actually part of the movie. In the beginning, you feel like you're on one of those 3D rides, where you are flying over everything. You get an ariel view of Gotham and it's pretty amazing. I think it was definitely worth seeing the movie in IMAX. And Heath Ledger was absolutely phenomenal in this movie.

I've never seen a film look like this one did in IMAX. Usually, they just take the 35mm print and stretch it, but large portions of this film were shot with IMAX cameras. It cheesy to say it, but if you only see 1 movie all year, it has to be Dark Knight:IMAX.
When first watching this, you're just hanging on for the ride. The second time, you'll be able to enjoy the dialogue much more. It's like "Miller's Crossing" in that sense. Wowsers!
