Going into this, I felt it couldn't possibly live up to the hype. But since I was going to give it a fair chance, I also took the opportunity to make this my first Imax experience. To say it was a great film is a understatement. Ledger's performance as Joker truly is a thing to behold, as he takes you into the mind of a madman unlike anyone before him. With his ticks and speech plays throughout the film, he makes you honestly fear him as the villian. The Imax filming was amazing, giving you the feel of total immersion into the film in several different segments. All in all, I will see this film again when it hits DVD, knowing that the story and the film are superb, even though I haven't figured out how to Imax my house yet.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
