This movie is like a classic Scorcese movie (ie The Departed) or Michael Mann (ie Heat) that incorporates a superhero and a maniacal villian, etc. Heath Ledger's performance is truly one for the ages and certainly deserves the posthomous Oscar. Let's not forget how good the rest of the cast is and in particular, Gary Oldman as Commish Gordon. A true epic that needs to be seen more at the theater and more than once. This will be the movie that all superhero movies are compared to in the future, but the reality is that the same can be said for most crime action dramas going forward as well. The movie and direction deserves Oscar consideration in addition to Ledger and Oldman. Don't let the hype overwhelm you, but rather sit back and enjoy it! It's truly deserving of it.

I'm so excited that I finally got to see this movie (was able to get tickets after 3 weeks). If possible, wait to see this film on an IMAX screen, or go see it again on IMAX. It was such a great way to experience this film. When the Joker first appears, it feels like he's about 100 feet tall!!! Although this movie is 2 hours 30 minutes, the time passes pretty quickly. Heath Ledger was amazing!!! Other things potential viewers should know is that although it is only PG-13, it is pretty dark and most likely "very scary" for younger audiences or sensitive viewers. I want to go see it again!!! (Depending on what you have heard already, some of my friends were "disappointed" because they felt the film has been too hyped up. So just go in and see for yourself.)

I expected a lot from this movie, and it delivered. I was initially skeptical of the media's review of Heath Ledger's performance, wondering if they were overyhyping it because of his tragic, untimely death. This is not so. If anything, Ledger deserves top billing here and absolutely steals the show as Joker -- the depraved villain entirely without any agenda other than to create chaos, and very much true to the comic character. I want to see it again!

There is no doubt that "The Dark Knight" is a truly ingenious movie that keeps you guessing. I have already seen it twice and would watch it again.
I must say though, if you're going to watch it in IMAX, make sure the theater will really make it an IMAX experience. If the screen isn't big enough, the difference from the big screen is minimal. I would have loved to have seen this with a little 3-D.

This is an excellent installment in the Batman/Dark Knight series. Predictably top notch performances from the regular cast and yes, Heath Ledger really finds his stride with the Joker character. Just remember Batman is a comic derivative and a little suspension of disbelief is in order. I think it ran a little longer than it needed to. There is so much story and plot lines that it should probably be seen twice.

This was one of the best movies I have ever seen. It had it all...The Joker was the best villian I have ever seen in a movie it was perfect, There were so many twists and turns it kept you on the edge of your seat.

This movie was great.... it was two and a half hours but sure didn't feel that long. lots of action and excitement. definitely go see it!
