I read all four books, I was expecting so much than what I saw on the screen. The cast was such a disappointment. This movie was so CHEESY! If you are a huge fan of Stephine Meyer's books you just might be in for a let down. But, there is no way you will disappointed if you are a teenage girl.

I felt the movie did a great job of capturing a lot of what was in the book. I left the theater feeling excited and anxious to see the next movie. I think the actors meshed well and have the right chemistry for the characters they are portraying. Can't wait for the next one!!

Many watch this movie without reading the book. You have to read the book first to appreciate the movie. I was very pleased. The emotions were not as strong as expressed in the book, but I know this is the movie. The director can't cram every little significant line or event. But I believe they did a great job overall. I knew the acting was going to be a challenge (although the nomads were perfect). The whole setting was perfect. Seeing the author in the movie was an added bonus and they were all beautiful. Yes, I wish I could have seen more of the Cullens and the nomads, but I believe the first point that had to come across was the love between Edward and Bella. I know the movies will only get better from here.

I've read all the books and I was totally stoked for the movie to come out. It does not follow the book exactly-you sit there and say "this is not supposed to happen here" or "that is so not how that goes in the book" but you get over it, and I really enjoyed it as a movie.

I am a huge twilight fan and have read all 4 of the books in the series. I was very pleased with the casting of the movie as well as the overall movie itself. Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson play the characters of Edward and Bella perfectly. Their chemistry is undeniable and it makes the movie that much more intense. I would definitely reccommend this movie to everyone. Although I feel as if reading the book first makes it just that more enjoyable.

The movie was good even though it was different from the book. It would have had to be way too long to get all of the book in there. They did skip a few things I felt were important, such as the explanation of "Twilight". It was very good and even my 15 year old son who has not read the book enjoyed it. I know they had a small budget for this film and hopefully now that they have the feedback from the fans and know how devoted we are they will go further with the rest of the books! I enjoyed it and am glad we saw it.

I enjoyed the movie and it did meet my expectations.
The relationship between Edward and Bella needed to be somewhat slower in growing. It seemed to get intense too fast, but again it is hard to put a book with as much detail as Twilight had into a 2 hour movie.
Overall, it is the first movie EVER that I have read the book first and didn't hate the movie.
That says someting.

As a fan of the Twilight books, this movie overall captured the essence of what the Twilight book was about. However, I do recommend that people should read the book first before watching this movie to get a much more appreciation of the story. There are some portion of the movie I wish was more elaborated. I would have love the meadow scene to be longer and see all the Cullen siblings at Prom.
I would love to see more chemistry between the two actors that played bella and edward. I felt that the chemistry was little lacking. I don't truely feel that they captured the love that the characters have for each other.

Twilight, the most anticipated movie of 2008, didn't disappoint this prestigious title bestowed upon it. I fell in love long before the movie actually came on the big screen. We all know that there is no way the movie could cover all the pivotal scenes and details from the book but I am happy with the way it turned out. I have watched it twice already and plan on going some more. I recommend that even if you haven't read the book, go see the movie. It might just inspire you to read the books!

The movie was horrible compared to the book. Kristen Stewart played a horrible Bella. Krisin didn't seem to grasp the concept of who Bella is or what she is supposed to be feeling. I honestly cannot imagine how Kristin Stewart will pull off New Moon. Can any fan who has read and loves the series even imagine Kristin lying on the cold ground in the forest when Edward leaves? Can you imagine Kristin Stewart portraying a heart broken girl who can barely breathe from the pain of losing the truest of true loves? I didn't think so. Kristin needs some acting classes before the filming of New Moon begins. All in all, the movie was a disappointment because it was missing the one key element. A warm, soft, naive, awed, girl deeply in love.

I read the books and loved the movie. A friend didn't like it too much because of some of the added parts. Another friend never read the book and fell in love with the movie. Either way the story is still there and it was great to see it come to life, so to say. Young girls will want to see this over and over! I'm going again with my niece who also read all the books!

I loved this movie! I went with a large group ranging from 16 years - 45 years old, boys and girls, those who read and didn't read the book, and everyone LOVED it. I think it was very true to the book. A great love story. Some of the vampire scenes were a bit cheezy but that's to be expected. I think the actors were perfectly fitted for the parts...except Carlisle. Can't wait fo the rest of the movies!

I loved the books that Stephanie Meyer has created. Knowing that I also know that no movie can compete with the book. I should have not have had such high expectations of this movie. I was just so excited that they were making it into one. With that said I think if you had not read the books it would have been really confusing. There seemed to be no flow throughout the movie. Plus they messed up the meadow scene. The whole reason the books were created.
It just seemed like they could have done so much more with it. Their character picks were right on though and they did a great job at that.

I was very disappointed in the movie. The movie tried to cover the entire book instead of focusing in on character-developing elements and important aspects of the book. This resulted in the feeling of sprinting through the plot without actually making connections between many of the scenes. This is a great book, but the movie needs to be redone.

No, it wasn't exactly like the book---how could it be? I thought the actors did a good job of portraying the characters. Kristen is so good at being awkward. Once I got past "Edward's" paleness, I bought into his character. It was a fun Saturday night!

Despite some of the rather cheesy special effects (what do you expect with such a small budget?) and the squeals from the tweens, I found this movie rather enjoyable. I've read the books and thought that the script was well adapted...sure there were some liberties taken but you can't fit it all in there. The casting was great and the acting pretty good...the chemistry between Stewart & Pattinson was what made the love story between the two main characters believable. I'll be interested to see what happens special effects wise and scripting for the next installments.

all thought they had tons of akward stare downs and things were way out of place and edward remained cold through out the whole movie i loved it! and will see it again and again and again! i loved all the actor, they were mostly like the book said. the cars were different but all of the houses were basicly the same as the book excpet bella's rooom and edwards room.

Hey what movie is ever as good as the book?? I thought it was great, no one can ever live up to who they have created in their mind ....The amount of description and feeling Stephanie creates seriously its nearly impossible to get it in on a low budget film and 2 hrs of time ...I think Rob and Kristen were great ....I cant wait to see it again !!! Of course I am an older objective fanatic but hey thats my 2 cents....It covered the important stuff ...but I would reccomend like some other reviewers to read it or you may be confused....

I loved the books, but the movie was bad on many accounts. I had low expectations for this movie since it was produced on a relatively small budget and with relatively unknown actors. With my low expectations, I was still disappointed! Very bad acting, very bad graphics (pressing fast forward to make vampires move faster does not work), very bad screen play. All of the wonderful dialogue and internal struggle of the main characters is trivialized in this film. Somehow it became a comedy to me. Probably because I didn't believe the characters at all. Don't waste your money. YOUR IMAGINATION IS BETTER!

I saw it Friday after I got off work with my daughter. We immediately bought tickets for the next show too. I could not believe how well the movie accurately represented the book. This is the first time I was not extremely disappointed in the disparities between the book and movie. Stephanie Meyer must have had her hand in daily filming for this to occur. And yes, I was also impressed she had a minor role at the counter of the diner.
I believe the actors have some growing to do... but i believe they'll only get better with each successive movie. Five stars is well deserved, and readily given.
