The lines and acting between Bella and Edward sounded forced and unnatural. There was no connection or chemistry between the two and also any intimate moment between Bella and Edward was ruined by Edward’s face twitches. The story would look detached and confusing to someone who has not read the book. They took very important parts of the book such as the meadow scene, when Bella first meets Edward and also when she was in the hospital and made them into a joke that I literally laughed at.
No, I do not recommend this movie.

The movie stayed true to the book and the actors definately did not dissapoint! Edward looked truly tortured the first time they met in class. Bella was really convincing during the fight scene where she's bitten. I felt all the characters were believable. I will see this again and I am hoping they go ahead and make the movie for the next book. I think the cast can pull it off without any problems.

I have read the entire Twilight series and very much looking forward to the big screen translation of the first novel. I LOVED IT!! The casting was better than I could have imagined as I read the series. The love story was acted out with compassion by the Kristen and Rob. Most importantly, my 14-year-old niece, who is not a big fan of reading, is working her way through the series. She loved the movie as well. Let the countdown for New Moon begin!!

The screenwriter and director should be fired and never hired again. A wonderful book was turned into 2 excruciating hours of meaningful looks and agonizingly bad acting. It was stilted and if you haven't read the book, I am sure most of it won't make sense.

I read the first book twilight for a school project not knowing what it was about at all. I instantly fell in love with the Plot, the characters, and the way that Stephanie Meyer wrote. I have since read all four books and was exteremly excited for the movie to come out. Though it was not all I expected, which no movie is compared to the book, I really enjoyed it. There were a couple things I wish that they would have kept the same such as line wise, But overall it was a very good movie, the actors were wonderful, they stayed true to the plot, it was great. There is no doubt that I will watch it again and I hope the other movies are as good.

My daughter and I went to see Twilight and absolutely loved it! We both agreed it was better that the book, and that is saying a lot, because the book was so good. We liked that they added some humor to the movie. The actors did great and the way they filmed the movie was so neat. The actors who played Edward and Bella did a fantastic job. They worked beautifully together. Can't wait for the sequel!!

I just want to say that I really loved this movie. I believe the actors did a great job portraying the characters and I can't wait for New Moon to come to the big screen. I wish that the blood typing had been left in though-it was a pivotal scene with Bella and Edward and I wish that they had said "I love you" to each other somehwere in the movie instead of being implied. I did love the meadow scene and how Edward "sparkled" and the scene where Edward sucks out James' venom-wow!. I think his thirst for Bella was captured pretty well there. I will go back and watch it again and I cannot wait.

I read the books a bunch of times so the first night I saw the movie, I was disappointed at all the differences and things left out...there was a lot of "that didn't happen!" but that's cuz I'm a natural corrector.
The second night (next night) I loved it!! I was able to get past that and just enjoy it!!
Robert Pattinson played a slightly more bumbling, stammering Edward than he was in the books....but he can stammer at me ANYDAY!!!
ha ha.
I loved it!!!

I was thoroughly satisfied with Twilight. I know many people were dissatisfied because there WERE deviations from the book, but you have to remember that this is NOT the book, it is the movie. Though there were a few things that I was disappointed that were not in the movie, I feel like, overall, Twilight was very true to the book and an entirely amazing film. I deffinitely cannot wait until New Moon hits theatres.

As someone who has read all the books, I was feeling pretty satisfied when the movie ended. I thought that the actors were much more convincing during the lighter moments than the more intense, romantic scenes.
The physical chemistry between Bella and Edward was definitely there. I was super pleased with how Robert Pattinson played Edward...you can tell that he read and studied Stephanie Meyer's draft of Midnight Sun, which is her book that tells Twilight with Edward as the narrator.
Wiith the success of Twilight over the weekend, I am looking forward to what they will be able to do with the next movie, now that the budget has increased.
Overall, would recommend to fans of the series, or people who enjoy romance with a scifi-style twist.

someone not familiar wth this franchise had made the remark that it would be "like 90210 with vampires." nothing could be further from the truth. the constant struggle of the characters going against their inner nature is well portrayed and gives this movie something you don't see often.
Also, in a book adaptation, you usually lose a lot more. In this case, small details were added that made the story more fluid and plausible.

This movie was HORRIBLE!!!!! I honestly can't see what people saw in this movie. The guy who played Edward did a much better job than I originally thought he would. The girl playing Bella, on the other hand was GOD AWFULL.. It was like someone had a gun to her head forcing her to read cue cards. She was positivley the worst actress for the part of Bella. There was absolutley no chemistry betweeen the two characters just dead air. Yes I realize I'm a die hard fan of the books, but I mean come on!!!! Could she try a little harder to act. This was the biggest disappointment by far of all the movies I think I have ever seen.

Overall this movie lacked the same thing that got it on screen to being with...a good story. The studio didn't even try to give the fans what they deserved. It angers me knowing this could have been so much better. The director was ALL WRONG! She does not have a special effects background, and her prior films are more documentary style. Summit: Don't make the same mistake on New Moon. Give this a chance to be brilliant franchise. Not a high school production of the book. You'll still have the $70M opening weekend because teenage girls need something to latch onto until they figure out how to have their own point of view.

I knew that the movie wouldn't be like the books that are amazing! but I didn't expected this movie to be so bad. I was very disappointed the acting was very poor, I couldn't feel the inconditional love that Edward and Bella feel for each other. Robert Pattinson and Kristen Steward did a poor job as Edward and Bella. The movie was very slow, boring and not exciting at all. Hope next time they do a better job.

I knew I would enjoy the movie, but was definatly a bit dissapointed at some of the difference from the book that seemed, to me, unneccesary differences. However, still amazing. It seemed a bit rushed when it came to Bella & Edward going from distate of one another to making out. haha I would have loved if they slowed it down a bit and made it a 3 hour instead of 2 hour movie. Either way, I want to see it again! :]

I thought the movie was very good. As is often the case it was not as good as the book, but I truly enjoyed the film. My greatest disappointment however was the lack of character development. So little time was spent on developing truly important characters such as Alice. I think the waitress in the diner that Bella and Charlie ate at had more lines than Alice who is a pivotal character to the entire series. Additionally, they strayed from the book and added several scenes for James, Victoria and Laurent instead of going into more depth on Edward and Bella's relationship. Despite any of its shortfalls, the film is definitely worth seeing. And of course, fingers are crossed for an extended edition dvd.

I thought the movie was GREAT! Of course nothing ever lives up to the power of your imagination, but this came really, really close. They really did an awesome job at casting; all the chemistry between the actors was perfect.

Admittedly, I was at first disappointed. I felt they spent too much time laying the foundation, so when it came to the climax, it was over and done so quickly, you hardly had time to be affected. However, that was my only complaint. I went back and saw it again, and enjoyed it wholeheartedly the second time around. In fact, I'd like to see it again... and again... and again.
