This movie seemed very low budget and the acting was terrible. It was so bad it seemed to make fun of the book. It could have been an after school movie for the scifi channel
That being said, I was thoroughly entertained. It was so bad it was loads of fun. My daughters 13 and 15 loved it though they agree that the acting was bad. We've seen it twice and will probably go see it again. We will undoubtedly own the dvd.
I'm definitely looking forward to seeing New Moon.

At the end of the midnight release showing, I screamed "HOLY S***" and everyone applauded me. Out of all the movies that I have seen, that movie is the best one I have seen to date. No joke. I am flat out serious.

i read all the books and i watched the movie the dayy it came out!
and i have to say.. it's the greatest movie created!
the only con about twilight is that they skipped soo many parts, but i understand cuz there was no wayy they could have fit that book in one movie. but they could have added a little bit more important scenes.
BUT I LOVED IT!

I have read all the books and I loved the movie! Some parts are a bit overly-dramatic, and as always the books are better than the movie, but the movie was still fantastic. The cast was great, each character was perfectly matched! Loved it! Can't wait for the next movies!!

I went to see the movie with low expectations and yet it blew me away. Great storyline, especially for fitting a large novel into a two hour movie! Kept me involved the entire time!

Although clearly a tale of high school puppy love, the emotions shared between Bella and Edward were touted as mature, adult love which they were not. True love is sacrificial. Bella’s love was selfish. Time and again she put Edward, his family, and her family in harm’s way because she thought she could not live without him. Bella reaped all the benefits of this “love”-like his nearly divine protection, the thrill of being with someone “different”, the adventures he took her on, the attention and popularity of dating the hot boy in school, etc.-while Edward struggled constantly to protect her (and himself, and his family, and her family…) and restrain himself.

very good. follows the book very well. keeps you captivated. i would definatly recamend this movie. I would also say that if you have the chance and the patients you should read the books. or at least the first one (Twilight) it will help you know whats going on better and make you laugh at things because you know whats going on.

I was one of the first people to be obsessed with Twilight. I read it when the book came out in 2006, or whenever that was and immediately hooked. I was thrilled when I heard it was being made into a movie, but also really nervous. I thought, like most books, they would butcher it. But I was pleasantly surprised. For the most part, the movie is fairly accurate to the book and the characters, despite my doubts, did a good job playing their roles. A few of the scenens were a bit out of place or maybe not even what I pictured. But I would definitely recommend it to my friends.

I went to the premiere with 14 of my friends. All of us "HUGE" twilight saga followers. We all came into the movie thinking it was going to be amazing. To put it mildly we had very high expectations. I agree with others who say that the movie was good, yet choppy. I think, even with a low budget film, that the major parts of the movie were included. I wish that it would have worked a little harder on bella's & edward's relationship. Though, I have seen the movie a second time already and I do think that it gets better every time you see it. :)

The movie was a little cheesy, but since it was low budget, I can live with it. The book is so much better. My 11 year old LOVED it!! She did think the book was better, but with the cute guys she said who cares! The actors did a good job, and it wasn't to far off what the book told. I would watch it again.

I thought this movie was fantastic. I loved the way they include other stuff in the movie so it seems more interesting. I didn't really liked the way Bella starts blinking. It causes my eyes to act wierd. Edward did a good job. I thought the movie was great, and they should include some more stuff like fastness for the vampires instead of just when they are walking. Also, there were some parts where it looked like they forgot the makeup for the paleness of the vampires. There was also a lot of unnecessary parts. Aren't the vampires suppose to be graceful!?! I didn't think all the james foreshadowing was necessary. The movie, especially the ending, was very good.

Went with my 19-year-old son...we both really liked it and went out today to buy the books. I appreciated that the violence was implied instead of in your face. It held my attention all the way through. Have to admit that was a surprise for both of us. My son said he thought it was going to be a "total chick flick", but he said there was a good balance of action and "the love stuff". Good time...definitely worth seeing.

The scenes made it look a little more scary than it was. IF you've never read the books, be aware this is a boy vampire meets human girl love story more so than the usual vampire fare. I.e. only one real fight scene in the whole movie. So, while I felt out of place as a single male in a teen girl dominated room (and they shrieked at the male lead every chance they got), it was a good teen romance movie, I guess, as long as you aren't looking for an original story line or anything. Lots of angst and longing and dreamy eyes-locking and soul searching. I'd go back and see it with my girlfriend since I know she'd like it.

I saw it on opening weekend and our theater was so loud (screaming) I could not focus on the movie very well. I saw it a second time and absolutely loved it! Seeing it a second time, I knew what to expect, so I was able to forget about the book and enjoy it as a movie. Of course the book was much better, but they can't fit a 500 page book into a 2 hour movie; however, I feel that they did a fantastic job and I think they did an excellent job on casting. The second time that i saw it, I went with some people that haven't read the books and they can't wait for the sequels either! There was a lot of background that was missed, but hopefully they'll put more of that into New Moon... definitely loved the series/movie and can't wait for more! :)

Let's start with this movie was obviously a hit. Every review supports the intense screaming and swooning throughout the theater. However, there is something I feel I must mention, since it has not been documented elsewhere. I found the essence of the story to be dead on. But, simple things that the director didn't need to change, she did, and many die-hard fans hollered out the differences during the film. For example, in Port Angeles, Edward was wearing the wrong clothes. Also, many people commented that there were scenes that would have been better had they stuck with the wording straight from the book. These are people who know this book like their own names. I hope next time Catherine Hardwicke pays a little more attention to detail.

I just loved this movie! I have read the whole series more than once, and i was pretty surprised at how close the movie and book were alike. I had no favorite part cuz I just loved everything! Yeah, you have to admit the special effects were cheesy, but i just loved it. R.P. just fits into Edward very well, and T.L. is just perfect for Jacob. Every actor fit in well with their character. It's great Summit is making New Moon into a movie , too! Then, we will be able to see Jacob turn into a werewolf.

What a dissapointment!
The books are awesome and the movie barely even touches on that. It could have been such a great movie with a number of differences: budget, director, special effects director and actors! I thought it was a cheesy version and it pretty much poked fun of the intense, addictive book version. You should have had more faith in your writing Stephanie!
