You really need to read the books before you watch the movie. It moved so fast and if you don't read the book before you are going to be lost. The acting (Bella's for instance) was better that I expected. The running scenes where Bella is on Edwards back were a little corny, but overall the movie was great! Charlie, Bella's dad is hilarious, Jasper was great too, Rosalie was her usual catty self, and Emmett is HOOOOTTTT!!!!! Of course Edward stole the show and was amazing! Rememeber to read then see the movie. It was definately worth my $11. :)

ok so i read the books repeatedly and loved them.. and while i understand that a movie can never live up to the book this one was particularly bad. its all three words of talking 5 minutes of silence while the director cuts in different tilted angle emo shots of the stars. while i also understand that there are time constraints and you cant fit everything from a 700 page book into a 2 hour movie i dont this you should replace actual events in the book with stuff the NEVER happened. i spent the entire movie going "that didnt happen in the book" the acting was terrible and this movie over all sucked (and not in the good vampirey kinda way) i dont even think i would have liked it if i hadnt read the books i must say.

This movie is very good. If you read the books. I have a very good feeling that if you didn't read the books that it is going to feel disjointed, fast, and confusing. If you read the books the characters played their parts very well. The movie adds a lot of humor to an otherwise pretty serious book. I'm a 27 year old guy and I advise all girls that if you are thinking of bringing your boyfriend that hasn't read the book to forget them. Grab your friends that have read it along with you. You will enjoy the movie a lot more.

I have read the entire series twice and saw this movie at the midnight showing....it was either ridiculously hilarious or extremley serious. Honestly I cant say anything bad about this movie and everyone should go see it!!!!!

Well i sure read the book and it was awesome, considering that my friend made me read the book. If you go to see this movie, please read the book. The movie left out sooo much that was in the book. They also altered the movie from the book a lot. I wont say here for the ones who want to see the movie, but man they could have done better. The movie was more funny then romantic too.....
I hope they make the next book!!! and i hope its better

I want to start by saying that I absolutely LOVED the books, and could not wait for this movie. However, my expectations were severly not met! The acting was atrocious, the movie followed the storyline poorly, and the chemistry between Bella and Edward was very disappointing! When reading to books, I was taken to another place and the chemistry was H-O-T; not so much. I hope that the movie makes enough to improve special effects and to send more than a few of the cast to acting classes. (This pains me to have these thoughts, though...) Take the chance and judge for yourself...

If you haven't read the book, the movie would still be okay, but it only highlights the bare minimum. There are a few slight differences in the movie, but nothing bad. I liked the casting. The movie had some funny scenes, too. I think if it were 3 hours long instead of 2, then more of the deeper details would've been covered and the story wouldn't feel so rushed. I wish they would've included the scene where Tyler shows up at Bella's to take her to prom. That would've been another funny moment.

Ok I have read all four books and the movie in someway did meet up with the book but not completely alot left out I would like to have seen, and one thing that I HATE is why do they change the look of characters from book to movie??? But thats fine, anyway for someone who has read the books the movie leaves you wanting part 2 and I went with people who have not read any of the books and it left them wanting more too!!!! and I hope they release it soon!

This movie was really good because the characters were all really good, and true to the book. I liked the changes they did that were different from the book, but im glad that they but the same things in the movie such as the baseball scene. This was a really really good movie and i was recommend it to anybody who enjoyed the book.

As a fan of the book series, I was eager to see if the movie could live up to the hype that the books have created. For starters, don't think the movie is going to be exactly like the book. The book is more serious than the movie. The movie has comical parts, mostly contributed by Edward. There are a decent amount of changes to the scenery and timing as well. In order for film makers to get the whole book into a 2 hr movie, be prepared for the movie to flow rather quickly. There aren't any "dead" parts to this one. And it definitely leaves the assumption that there WILL be others to follow. (New Moon, Eclipse...)

I guess it may have been my fault, as I may have expected too much. I thoroughly loved the books and read all four (plus the excepts of Midnight Sun) in a matter of 3 weeks, and highly anticipated the movie. The actress that played Bella was not beleivable in any means, though she looked the part. The only viable actor in my opinion was Robert Pattinson, as the melancholy Edward Cullen. For the most part, the production was reminiscent of a made for TV movie, which figures since the screenwriter's writing was most know for scripting TV shows like the OC. Well all, I read that there has been a "go" for the next 3 books, hopefully the script will be better written to show the true essense of Stephanie Meyers' vision.

I read the books when they first came out and have to say that I was sad after seeing the movie. The beginning of the movie was horrible. I couldn't help but laugh at some of the attempts at "scathing looks" and glittering hotties. The initial "courtship" was rushed, and so many things were added that ticked me off. A fieldtrip? Really? There was enough going on in the book that a fieldtrip was not needed. I understand that they had to make it more mainstream for general audiences, but I feel like they went for a campy tone rather than be truer to the book. The movie got better for me after the baseball game, and I liked it from there on. I wish they hadn't added the weird sub-plot with the Villains though.

I felt like the movie kept my interest, I loved the humor, the action, romance and the actors. My only complaint would be that I wish there was more dialogue in a couple of places. It was okay for me because I had read the books, but maybe for those who hadn't it probably would have needed more explanation. I thought it was going to be a let down, instead I was very pleased!!

I've got to agree with so many others that if you didn't read the first book, you really need to to truely appretiate the movie. I brought a friend who didn't read it and got so frustrated with him throughout the movie that I actually moved to another seat ... sooo READ the book ;-) Otherwise the movie was done so well the actor/actress choices were perfect and the story line was fairly true to the book. It wasn't quite Harry Potter but it was DEFFINATELY NOT Eragon. The movie was a little fast paced but not anything too upsetting to the fans and I'm a diehard fan so obviously it was a good movie :-D

I'm a HUGE fan of the books-but I thought the movie was ok...I wouldn't recommend the movie to someone who didn't read the book. They summed up alot of the book where it made it a little confusing. I LOVE Edward he was great. I love Bella in the book-but I found her so annoying in the movie! She had the look of Bella-but her acting was aweful-she kept studdering and twitching..I hated it! Overall the movie was good though.

My daughters are huge Twilight fans and I surprised them with a midnight viewing of this movie and was I SURPRISED, I really enjoyed the movie. Having not read the books I still really enjoyed and cant wait for the next one. I might have to read the books as Twilight left me wanting alot more.....

i think that even if you haven't read the book before you will love this movie... i would recommend you read the book before but you dont have to if you dont want to.. i'm a huge twilight fan and i LOVED the movie.... the cast was well picked and they all did an amazing job.... edward was amazing and so was bella... they did such a good job when he stepped into the sunlight.... good effects... the music was amazing but i kinda wish they had a different version of bella's lullaby in the movie... it was still amazing.. so GO SEE TWILIGHT.... WOOT

Overall, the movie was pretty good. There were a few tiny discrepancies from the book to the movie, but overall it was good. The only thing I wish they had done, was really convey Edward's playful side. He teases Bella a lot in the book, and you don't see much of that in the movie. His character is too serious. But the movie is still worth seeing . I went to the premiere, and I'm going again on Sunday!

This movie rocks! I was so worried the movie would not live up to the book, but it was great. We saw it at midnight-people were screaming and clapping-it was wild! Robert Pattinson was great as Edward, he is soooo hot! There were some changes from the book, and it went really fast, but I loved it. I went with my sons, some other women and their kids, and everyone loved it. Great movie!!

This movie was the book to a T. They did change some things to make the movie shorter, but all in all, really great movie!
I recommend reading the books so you can relate to the characters better. The passion they have for each other shows in the movie, but it's even better when you know where they are coming from.
The only negative thing I have to point out is the cheesy effects. The way the vampires moved could have been done better. They look like they've been put on fast-forward. With technology & the way it is today, they could have done better.
Go see it with your boyfriend, he'll love it. Mine did.
Go see it anyway!

The Twilight movie was AMAZING!!! SOOOO good!!! :) I agree that you should read the book first...you will get all the inside jokes! This movie blew my expectations right out of the water. Having read the book umpteen times and dreaming of Edward Cullen for months, Robert Pattinson stole the show with his perfect portrayal of my imaginary boyfriend. Haha. I was surprised at how close they kept the movie and the book. There were some parts that disappointed me but overall it was AMAZING! They did a great job and I think that people who haven't read the book could see the movie and be entertained, but there may be some questions needing answers so READ THE BOOK! It is so much more than the movie and the movie was a hell of a lot.

I loved the Twilight book series so of course I was one of the first people in line to see the movie. The theater was packed with girls and in the end, no matter how much they tried to play up the action and effects, this movie is a girls movie. Being a girl I loved it. Being a fan of the book series I was disappointed in a few parts. Understand, the book is very long which means a lot has to be cut out and that is what I was disappointed about. Some of my favorite moments were not there. However, this was a great movie and while the book will always be better the movie was awesome too.

Maybe it was just me, but I had really high expectations for this movie because the book was so good. I'll be honest, this movie was pretty terrible. It was a good B movie at best. Parts that were suppose to be serious and intense were silly, and it was kind of a joke. A few of the characters were well casted (Stewart surprised me) but overall I was not impressed. If you are a huge fan of the book, I would not recommend seeing this movie.

Why would a director make a movie about Twilight and not even cover many of the main important parts?? The book is so beautiful and deep and as a reader our minds create a movie that we want to see. If you take out so many of the important parts, the movie falls flat. I thought the movie was great, but it could have been SO much better. And I wanted more. It is so important to get this right, and I hope the movie lasts longer and that there is a bigger bugdet with Eclipse!! My final thoughts...read the book first. Certain expressions and lines will make sense to you if you read the book first!!

This is a great movie if you read the book. This movie makes the book come alive! There are remarks in the movie that only the reader will know. However, if you have not read the book the movie is good but you can't get all the references in the movie. I can't wait until for the next movie!
