This movie will be a huge hit for young and older women!! I think it is a movie that will be best seen after you have read the first book! Also remember that the Cullen's and all the "cold ones" are supposed to be "Odd" they are supposed to be a bit different and not fit in with other people. There are a bit of theatrics that are consistent with the author's own depiction of vampires and not really standard in slasher vamp movies. I cant wait till the next movie comes out. Who will play BIG Jacob??

I'm 29 years old and I am a huge Twilight fan. In fact reading these books got me hooked on reading. I can't seem to stop. I was so excited that they were putting this amazing story on the big screen. If you've read the books and fell in love with the LOVE STORY of Bella and Edward, you will be left wanting when the movie is through. I won't say the movie was bad, but it was frustrating. I don't think there was enough of Edward and Bella. I also began falling for Alice's character in the book and you don't even get the basic of who she is in the movie. I think that the people that haven't read the books that venture out to see this film will enjoy it and want to check out the books. As far as Twilight goes, I'm sticking with the books.

Speaking as someone who has read all the books and adores Ms. Meyer's saga with unparalleled devotion, I will say that I was wholeheartedly proud of the adaptation to film. The characters ring true to their literary counterparts. They are exactly as Ms. Meyer wrote them in the book and as they appeared in my mind. I loved this movie. Please everyone go see it. The more money the film makes, the higher the budget will be for future films for New Moon, Eclipse, and Breaking Dawn. That means the movies will only get better with time. Go see it. It will change your life.

I've read all the books. I love the storyline. I feel the movie could have been shot better in a way to help those who haven't read the books to better understand the depth of the characters. There were a couple of key scenes that should have been included. Overall I liked the movie and would recommend it.

The movie was horrible, the acting and editing was terrible. I have read all of the books and the first book twice and even i had trouble following the plot of the movie.
The theater was laughing at moments that weren't even meant to be funny in the slightest. This was mostly caused by the bad acting and terrible editing. There were virtually no establishing shots to speak of and the dialog was ridiculous.
The only reason i would recommend this movie to a friend is because it was so bad it was funny, almost similar to "not another teen movie" the acting is comparable.

I enjoyed this movie. I thought the first half of the movie was a little off.
First of all Edward looks like he is having an aneurysm when he sees Bella for the first time, very odd. The movie picks up once the two start talking..weird part was when Edward reveals his secret and he's hopping all around the trees, really? Come on!
The movie (and characters ) redeem themselves in the second half of the flick and all in all I thought it was decent. I hope that they'll have a bigger budget to work with next time around so the effects can be more dramatic. I will say that parts seemed very real and I liked that.
Definitely check it out!!!

Read all 4 books. Very long, very wordy but couldn't put them down! The movie was the opposite....felt it was choppy from scene to scene with very, very little character development. You miss a lot if you don't know what's going to happen already. The movie ends with Victoria watching Edward and Bella. Read Book 2 to find out why!
Uneven acting all the way around except for Kristin Stewart. Heard bits of a British accent from Edward from time to time.

You definately need to have read the books to follow...there are a lot of holes. I felt the acting lacked the passion of the books. There didn't seem to be a connection between the characters. They seemed to take some of the best lines of the book and have the characters say them to each other. I did love the ending and that the Victoria, Laurant, and James characters were more integrated than in the book, and it certainly left the door open for New Moon. But the essense of the characters wasn't there, I was sad to see!

GREAT MOVIE! The major parts in the booked were included although some parts had to be changed I was not disappointed because they still kept the main concept, it did feel like it went a little fast from scene to scene, but it's because there is just to much in the book to add in 2 hrs. I think you definately need to read the book to understand the movie. I WANT TO GO SEE IT AGAIN!

I would have chosen zero stars if that was an option. I would only recommend this movie as a comedy, not a dramatic love story. The dialogue was not believable. The majority of the actors were terrible, except the guy who played Eric (kudos!). I cannot think of a movie that I have ever seen that is worse than this movie. The scenes that were meant to be intense were so ridiculous that even the young teens couldn't help but laugh. I hope they finish out the trilogy, but they need a new writer & director. Or, better yet, start completely over in a few years like the Hulk and pretend this one never happened. I am looking forward to seeing the Wayans Bros. do a spoof on Twilight, now that would be funny!

I loved the movie! Yes, there was a 'cheese' factor but it was also in the book. The casting was great as well as the acting. I agree with some of the other comments, it would be very helpful to read the book first. Of course not everything was in the book but they did well for a 2 hour movie; not every little thing can be included. The movie was great for all ages and very glad I was one of the people who caght the midnight showing, VERY satisfied.

Bella's character was a lot more convincing than when I first saw previews. The vampires weren't over the top and the movie actually had some pretty funny parts if you read the book. Can't wait for the sequel which they set up nicely.

The effects were cheesy but with the budget of the movie i guess its ok. I'm a 25 year old mother who LOVES the Twilight books. The movie had it's good parts. But there were just times where the acting wasn't good at all. Overall, I gave it 4 stars. I'm glad that I didn't build it up to expect something phenomenal because it definitley wasn't. Kristen Stewart needs some acting lessons.
P.S. Edward is super hot!

I absolutely loved this movie. I think that they did an excellent job with keeping the book with the movie. There were minor differences here and there but overall it wasnt anything that would upset me.Right after leaving the movie I was immediately talking about when I would go see it again. Aside from the edward crazed teenagers all around me screaming at the most inappropriate moments, I thought the movie was absolutely phenominal. The effects were perfect and I loved how they did the narrating bringing parts of the book forward into the movie. It was wonderful and I dont know any better way to explain it. Im ready to see it again and I guarantee Ill be the one to buy the movie as soon as it hits shelves. GREAT WORK!

I loved this movie. Since the beginning. I thought the movie was going to be good because the books are so great, I have to say, it was more than i expected.
Rob's acting as Edward was AMAZING, he did a tremendous job. I loved his facial expressions and I'm finally ok with him being Edward, the heck, I love that he is Edward.
Kristen (Bella) was also a very good character, i loved them, they look so cute together and they definitely had chemistry with each other.
Taylor (Jacob) was also hilarious, i nearly screamed when he came on. Ah the boy is hot!!!
Overall the movie was great. Can't wait til New Moon comes out, I'm dying to see Taylor without that hideous wig.

The movie is good, but had some things that I didn't like about it that's more on the production end. I’m not an expert, but there were some weird camera angles, a lot of close-ups, too many 360 angles, cheesy lines/delivery and graphics (i.e. the jumping scenes), and awkward scenes (why is Edward yelling, jumping and climbing trees?). As for the music, the lullaby was nice, but distracting in some parts, and the classical guitar just made it a little more corny than I’d have liked. The part where he showed his "sparkling skin" was weird and embarrassing. Too many montages. I like the movie overall, it's just that some stuff could have been different which didn't really have anything to do with the plot, but more the way it was filmed.

My friends and I went to go watch Twilight opening night, they didn't read the book and absolutely loved the movie. I on the other hand, was a bit disappointed because I had read the book prior to watching the movie. They left out some details that I thought they should have emphasized on. They jump a bit too much and they left out quite a bit, but thats how it goes for a book that turns to film. However, it was played out great and did touch on most of the main parts of the book.

But this movie needed a bit more explanation. I definitely think that you would need to read the book before watching the movie to understand certain parts. All around, the movie wasn't what I expected, obviously, but it got confusing at certain parts. The actors and actresses did great jobs, I think it's mainly the directing. The movie skipped a lot of important things that should have been shown, and it went way too fast. I guess for cramming a 600 page book into a 2 hour movie it isn't that bad, but I wish they would have looked over it twice as many times has they had.

This movie was actually good...like all books that become movies there were things missing. Although there was so nice added scenes where the plot would thicken or you'd get more information on characters that the book really didn't go into detail over. The movie itself seemed a lil choppy there should have been more time to build the relationship between Edward and Bella b4 she was head over heels for him. All in all it was good and I'm waiting to see the next installment!

This is the first movie where I read the book before watching. I understand why Harry Potter fans are angry that the movie was so much different from the book. Many scenes and good quotes were exempt!!
It’s a funny and corny movie. The acting was over the top and too subtle at times. If you didn't read the book, you’d missed out on what was going on in the movie, such as when Bella breathes in Edward --you don't really catch it in the movie.
This was a fast paced movie. It would be better if more scenes from the book were in it to make it flow better. But I still love the movie regardless because it brings the book to life and Rob Pattinson is sexy. But it deters me to read books before the movie coming out because of the disappointment.

The 2 hour Twilight movie flew by and clumped too much together, still leaving out many details and scenes that should have been included. I imagine the budget didn't allow adding to the length, but I would happily sit through even a 4 hour Twilight movie. With the success Twilight is bound to have, PLEASE make the sequels long enough to include critical details and scenes. It has to be very difficult to portray on screen the depth of emotion behind the unspoken feelings shared between the characters. Take time to spell it out and give the cast better lines in the next movie, too. Stephenie Meyer's writing is excellent and will never transfer exactly to a movie, but I am confident the next one can be much better!
