I have to say that I really enjoyed this movie. It was funny as to which I did not expect. But I assume that is only because Ihave read the book and understand hidden meanings and etc. I think everybody looked great, especially Alice, she's perfect for the part. I do wish the movie could have been like Pride and Prejudice where it took over 4 hrs to watch it. The movie was fast pasted. Only twilighters could keep up. I will buy it and watch it over (+).

Since I've read all the the books in the series there were no surprises there. I have to say the movie stayed very true to the book. I was sooooooooooooooo happy about that. The movie was based on the first book so you KNOW there will be at least 3 others (unless they combine two books in one movie. All I know is that I'll see all the movies to follow but I really hope they keep the same characters they had in this first movie. I thought Robert Pattison & Kristen Stewart did an amazing job & they were perfectly suited for their roles (Bella & Edward). If you read the books you would understand why they were perfect for their roles.

Awful. That's the only word I have to describe this mess they call a movie. They rearranged all the important scenes and added a few to make it more action-y and appealing to the boys. Kristen Stewart literally choked her way through her lines. She's a HORRIBLE actress and I've never said that about anybody before. I was more entertained by the girl I saw vomiting in the bathroom afterwards. Save your money. Just reread the book.

I am an avid film-watcher, and generally very critical of this art form. While Twilight could have been better, it was exceptionally good for what it is: an homage to the millions of book fans. The film was very well cast. And although I could have done with fewer more expert stammerings from Bella, she captured the essence of the character: a besotted, angst-riddled teenage girl. All the important moments of the book were portrayed. Cinematography was exquisite; direction solid. Music was decent - but a little too "present" in some scenes. Unlike a lot of films based on books, you will not feel betrayed by this movie.

I am a 32 year old mother of 2 and I absolutely loved the movie and I will be taking my mother to see it again! You have to read the book! The movie did such a wonderful job of capturing the vision of the book! I didn't feel like I missed anything from the book that wasn't included in the movie. I could have sat for hours and watched more! Great movie!

Good movie if you read the books. Wish they would have spent more on the special effects. Ending was lame. I liked the characters. They did a good job showing the intensity of Bella and Edwards obssession with each other. Jasper was a hoot. Can't wait to see how everyone evolves. I hope to see more of Jacob in the next movie...

This movie was good - some things were changed from the book - but overall it was a good movie. I didn't like how bushy Edward's eyebrows were though. I can't wait for Breaking Dawn - that will be awesome!

I was expecting great things after the hype but it was just okay. Edward was great but the actress who played Bella was terrible. She mumbled thru the entire movie and since she can't act, it made the Bella/Edward love story hard to connect to. The movie moved way to fast from part to part and made my head spin. I couldn't feel the connection between Bella and Edward as I did in the book. I loved James, Edward, Charlie, Rosalie and Alice. The music was fantastic. But I thought this was a movie I would see five times in the theatre....I can wait til dvd now to see it again. Hopefully if there are more movies, Kristen Stewart will take some acting lessons.

Catherine Hardwicke and all of the cast put this movie in the best possible standing that it could have ever been. It couldn't have ever been as good as the book, but they did the BEST job condensing the book into a 1 hour and 45 minute time slot. I loved it!
P.S. Taylor lautner did extrodinarily well! Team Jacob all the way!!!!

I thought the movie was amazing and it is really entertaining. It has a lot of action scenes, laughing points and a wonderful swooning worth love story. If you have read the books you will surely love it and appreciate Kristen Stewart's acting as Bella which is perfect. And if you havent read the books I assure you wont be bored and will be captivated by this love story.

I am a HUGE fan of the twilight books and I was anxiously looking forward to the movie. It wasn't what I expected! The movie moved too fast along the story line and far too many things were changed. It seemed more like a series of shots rather than a story progression. I went to the movie with a friend that has not read the book and she had a hard time following the movie. I really expected so much more. I understand the movie was made on little to no budget, but the director could have done a much better job. I gave it four stars because it is twilight and I really did try to enjoy it. I plan on seeing it again. Maybe with this movie the more you watch it the more it will grow on you.

This was an excellent movie! I would recommend it to everyone! BUT you have to have read the books to understand the movie!!! At least Twilight! I hope there are more movies to come, if so, I can't wait!!!! SO if you haven't seen it and you've read the books what are you waiting for...GO SEE THE MOVIE!!! Oh yeah how could I forget to mention...all of the Cullen boys were sooooo freaking HOT, especially Edward!!!

I knew the movie would not be like the book...and how can it with the book being over 500 pages condensed into a 2 hr movie, it can't included everything. It stuck pretty close to the book though except for a few details or some combined details such as Bella telling Edward she knows what he is and he also shows her his glittery self in the sunlight in the same scene. It definately was good and surpassed my expectations. I can't wait until New Moon is made!!!

I am a fan of the whole series. For the first movie, the setting was lush and vivid. The Cullen family had a very small role, almost no dialogue. There was some conversation between Bella and Edward that was key to their love story that was missing. Some of my favorite things he said to her in the book went missing. But a good effort for a short film.

I love the soundtrack. Rob Pattinson was gorgeous in a few scences. Police Chief Swan was the best actor.
Otherwise there was a lot of bad acting, but that is expected with so many teenagers.
I went in knowing it would not be 'my' version of the book, and I felt very open to a new interpretation. The two aspects of the movie I just couldn't reconcile are 1) Bella never seemed 'dazzled' or befuddled in Edward's presence and 2) Edward was touched! No one would ever be able to smash Edward into a mirror. Cool fight scene, but Edward would have had an upper hand.

This movie was exciting yet also sweet and romantic.
The actors portrayed their characters beautifully and the Movie was exceptionally true to the book.
The chemistry between Kristen and Rob as Bella and Edward was electric.
The Young Carlisle and Esme actually made the Father/ Mother figures work perfectly.
Ashley Greene seemed to make Alice waltz right out of the book with a "pained Jasper at her side.Rosalie was beautiful and bitter with a strong, loving Emmet close at hand.
The terrible trio - threatening to say the least - Looking forward to the sequel

I am a die-hard book fan. I have all of the books. I have Midnight Sun saved on my comp. I have read and re-read each book many times. I push it like a drug to anyone I meet.
But Stewart and Pattinson REALLY overthought this. They played it for teen angst and it's just not that kind of story. Edward would look suicidal one second and then 50's cool the next. IN THE SAME SCENE! Add to that cameras that spin around the scene constantly, horrid special effects, and just really really bad acting that looks melodramatic and campy, and you have a movie I will never recommend to anyone, or even watch again. HORRIBLE!

it skipped major themse from the book
the 2 leads that play Edward and Bella had NO chemistry which ruins the whole film. you dont believe that they cant live without one another.
the cinematography was ok, the movie looked right. the trees had moss, it rained, the locations were beautiful, the scense were shot well, lighting was god. but non of that helps if the actors dont posses enough talent to carry the story.
i was sorely dissappointed.

Though we would enjoy the constant love story as said in the book, the comedy in the movie added so much to it. They really made the human characters much better. Kellan was absolutely fabulous, with his cool guy attitude. The added scenes didnt completely make up for the many scenes lost from the book. I was a little dissapointed w/ the meadow scene/bedroom scene. No director could fully capture the magic of Twilight, besides maybe Stephenie herself. The Cullens were greatly captured (Alice was adorable) and for the record: Pattinson did alot better than we expected. Not perfect of course, but very good. Overall, great portrayal of the overall plot and added details. I will definately be seeing this again.

The begining of the movie skipped from one scene to the next. It was so rushed! They cut out alot like, one second Bella meets Edward and the next she's flying on his back. Also, they didn't make the "dazzling" scene or the part where Edward tells Bella what Twilight is like for him. Other than that, I loved the movie. Girls were screaming in the stage as Robert Pattinson entered ;). The Cullens acted it out well ESPECIALLY Alice. She was exactly like the book.
I just hope the next movie doesn't skip alot.
I recomend anyone to watch it.

My daughter read the series and absolutely loved the books. The movie, however, left a lot to be desired in my opinion. It did not appeal to me as an adult, with the brooding, stalker lead character, Edward, and the long stretches of the "in love" teens staring at each other...but it was perfect for the teenaged girl filled audience that screamed, clapped, and squealed whenever Edward emoted onscreen, or who knew the stories well and enjoyed seeing the characters from the book come alive. It was entertaining, but definitely for one age category. The entire audience was comprised of young girls and their parents. :) Gave me a chuckle or two.

Even if your not a fan of the books I'd suggest you watch it at least once.

You must read the book before watching this movie, there are so many parts that are not mentioned in the movie in order to get the true meaning of Edward and Bella. The movie was very fast paced but all in all very good. I am waiting for the movies for the contiued series. I think once we get them all it will be great. It was weird to see some of the favorites come to reality. I was not all that impressed with Bella though. Think someone with better acting should have played her. Edward was great and Charlie was perfect. This was a funny movie but only some the readers would get or understand. I am ready to see it again!!

Having seen some of my fav books "hacked" when they became movies, I was concerned but this movie was AWESOME, translating the spirit of the book on to the screen. The added on elements really worked, adding some tension to the film.
Rob was amazing as were the special effects, the baseball game, the fight scene in the ballet studio and the flight thru the trees. The "skin" effect was the only thing that left me thinking hmmmmm but only for a moment.
There is a "nod" to us readers, something only we would understand which I thought was wonderful as well.
On a scale of 1 to 10, it's an 11 and I'm off to see it again.
