Great Movie

I haven't read any of the books only heard about them from my wife. I thought it was a great movie, not having read the book I was able to follow the movie. I was happy to see thay did not have all this blood and gore like you see in alot of vampire movies. I thought it was done perfect and am looking forward to more in this series.

OMG, this movie was nothing like the book. i felt like they were making fun of the actual movie, and if you have not read the book, do NOT see the movie. Most of the parts were all jumbled up and the movie did not flow smoothly. If you have ever seen the spoof of twilight, this is what it reminded me of. I am sorry, i love the book, but this movie was just horrible. There were some parts where you just HAD to laugh if was so cheesy.Oh, and they forgot to put Bella's contacts in at the end and Rosalie said way too many lines. There is just so much wrong with it. Love the books, hate the movie.

Chick Flick Only

I'm a 39 year old mom and since my daughter (14) and I have read all the books in the Twilight series, we couldn't wait to see the movie. However, I felt that it moved painfully slow - and felt bad for my friend that came with me -because she didn't read the book so she didn't know half of what was going on. I think that "Bella" did a great job in her role, but my vision of Jacob was certainly much better (Hotter) than the movie. (Thats a minor detail though) I agree with the other posts. DEFINITELY READ THE BOOK(S). Otherwise you won't get much out of this movie. OH - And don't bring your husband - he'll HATE IT! Not much action - it is DEFINITELY a chick flick

It was good, but could have been better. The book is such a great story that the movie could have been done so much better. Edward was not as smooth and perfectly cool has he could have been. I laughed a lot in places that were not funny in the book, but I did enjoy it!

Books are always better than their movies because the readers can envision the scenery, the characters, the action themselves. Those who have read the book need to remember the movie will always be a little different from the book because it's hard to fit a 500 page book into a two hour movie. However, this movie will blow you away! The action, the romance, and the intense chemistry between all the characters were absolutely amazing. Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart depicted the perfect "Edward and Bella". Although there were a few added scenes and a few deleted scenes, this movie stayed true to the bare necessities of the plot line, allowing the audience to grasp a true feel for everything that is Twilight.

I had not read the book, as I didn't have time. However I would recommend this movie to anyone. Edward portrays the type of respectful guy any mom would want their daughter to meet. He shows such love, protection, and respect to Bella that isn't seen in movies anymore. Definitly a must see, at least once, and can't wait to buy the dvd. By the way my teemage daughters want to see it again, and can't wait for the next one.

While I don't think that a movie can ever truly capture the depth and detail of a book, I think that Twilight did a great job in bringing the story of Edward and Bella to the big screen. Many scenes and dialogue were shortened, combined or changed, but the alterations didn't really change the plotline too much from that of the book. I think that the changes made were for the sake of time to ensure that the story was represented in the 2 hours of the film. I thought casting of the main characters was excellent. Edward and Bella were just as I pictured them. I really hope they go on the adapt the remaining three books.

if you read the books and you got the emotions out the book, you will not enjoy the movie. The movie hits the hilights of the book, but it never get the emotions right between Edward and Bella. The relationship between Charlie and Bella is correct. They got most of Cullens correct, but totally messed up Jaspar. Also Jacob needed to be totally American Indian. And I am wondering if the director has a thing for James Dean because Edward was a poor imitation. Also they should have let Robert Pattinson use his english accent, because he came off with more of long island accent. So if you read the books don't expect much, if you didn't you would enjoy it.

Twilight... fun, but not what I expected

I loved the movie b/c I am a fan & I believe that Kristen, Rob, & the rest of the cast did what they could to make the movie better but the directing, editing, & screen writing left a lot to be desired making the movie appear choppy & poorly acted in parts. If you have not read the books the appeal is not there, you will most likely be lost, & if you have they cut so many good parts out & put in many parts that were not even needed making the story line seem like a comedy instead of the romance the books delivered and captured so many with. I will see the movies b/c I am a fan of the books but I wish it could be made by others that could make them the incredible movies they deserve to be. Same cast with better resources making the movie!

I was more than excited to see this movie, and though it did seem move a bit faster for my taste in a book adaptation, it definitely didn't disappoint. All the elements important to the book were there, and it had some great humor within the dialogue. I must suggest reading the book to understand some points. All in all, wonderful film. :)

THE MOVIE WAS GOOD. THE MAGIC OF THE BOOKS CAN NEVER BE CAPTURED IN A MOVIE, BEACUSE IT WOULD BE LIKE 9 HOURS LONG. MY BROTHER LIKE IT AND HE HAD NOT READ THE BOOK. IF YOU WANT THE MOVIE TO FOLLOW THE BOOK COMPLETELY THEN YOU MIGHT BE DISAPOINTED. SOME SCENES HAD TO BE LEFT OUT. I HAD FUN I WENT WITH 9 OF MY FRIENDS AND WE ALL HAD A BLAST. NOT EVERYONE HAD READ THE BOOKS BUT THEY WERE ALL ABLE TO FOLLOW. HALF OF MY GROUP WERE MALES AND ALTHOUGH THEY WERE NOT INTO THE COMPLICATED LOVE BETWEEN BELLA AND EDWARD, THEY LAUGHED AND HAD A GREAT TIME. I WOULD DEFINATLEY WATCH IT AGAIN.

I agree with others that you may not get as much out of this movie if you have not read the book. But it is FABULOUS!! Well directed, acted, shot, and scripted. True to the book and a wonderful depiction of the story so many people love. I am 23, and still loved it like I am 13!

i just watched the movie on the opening night and i thought it was wonderful. of course it wont be just like the book but they got pretty close, like others said, some scenes are made just for twilight fans who actually read the book. i thought the acting was good, sometimes it was sort of over the top (biology class) but i still loved it. i was smiling through the entire movie. its wonderful to see your imagination some to life, like you imagine things differently but sometimes you'll be like "hey ! thats who i imagined it." i think anyone would enjoy this movie over all, 5/5. corny lines come in play sometimes, but Edward is corny. aha (: enjoy the movie !

I was told that by having read the book I was not going to like the movie as much. Even though I did notice some events that didn't take place in the movie they still captured the characters very well. I was surprised by how good edward was performed. He had a huge expectation to fill as the romantic vampire. I recommend this movie to everyone. For you guys out there the movie is not only for girls. I brought my boyfriend (who has never read the books before) and he loved the movie. He said it was better then he thought it was going to be by a lot. I am definitly buying this movie when it comes out. I hope this movie will be sucessful enough to have all the other books made into movies.

The movie is faithful to the book. Casting: Mike was perfect. I wasn’t sure about Charlie, but manner made up the image. Bella was perfect, and all the vamps fit well. Some annoyances-1. The nomads who are suddenly throughout 2. The moments of Edward "watching" Bella through other's minds were cut. 3. Most of Bella's insecurities were masked, like the filmmakers were trying to attract feminists. Overall, I don't think anyone will be disappointed. I recommend reading the book just before watching the film to pick up on the direct pieces of dialogue and small changes from the book. ...as a side note, I dragged my non-reading husband with me, and it’s possible to watch and enjoy the film without reading the book.

This was a pretty good movie. I'm sure I would have liked it better if I hadn't read the book yet. Like most movies, it left out stuff that was in the book. Some of the dialog could have been better (lots of cheesy lines!) but all in all it was a pretty good movie. I wouldn't pay 10.50 to see it again...I'll just wait for it to come to DVD and then borrow it from someone.

I have been obsessed with the books since they were released. My cousin and I would always preorder them and wait a year for them to be released. The movie was excellent!!! The book is much better but it was at least a good portrayel of the characters and the location of Forks. I was a little dissappointed in some of the acting, but this is geared towards teens, which I am not, so I understand they picked the actors based more on looks than acting abilities. I watched the midnight show on Thursday/Friday and am re-reading the book to get the full effect. If you have read the books the movie won't disappoint you, if you haven't read the books....what are you waiting for?

I agree that reading the book first fills you in on any skip arounds, but my husband did not read the book and enjoyed the movie very much. The Cullen family was perfectly cast and satisfies the "tension" and intensity along with the like-ability factor necessary to love these characters. I very much enjoyed the film. Robert P. is thoroughly dreamy....

unfortunetly the very best thing was the music.
The writters seemed to be in the mind set that the audiance would have read the book so there was little explaining.
My friend who was with me, who has not read the book yet, said she liked the movie, but is still confusse on what is going on.
So it is an okay movie, if you have read the book.

I saw the movie three times in 24 hours and loved every one. Edward's emotions are so good and true to what he depicted in the book, the thirst, rage, love, protectiveness, and the passion he can not show! Bella is fabulous! I had to remember to breathe in some of the scenes!!!! Just a romantic at heart, if we could only find that perfect ........vampire!
It had everything I had hoped for from the book, which I have read 3 times so far!
I agree that reading the book would be very important to get the whole story since they had to condense it a lot!

I was more excited than I can express to see Twilight since I read the whole series and ADORED it. However, I was very disappointed by the movie. The story line was jumpy and if you didn't read the books you would've been lost. The passion which was so overwhelming in the book fell very short in the movie. The camera spent most of its time on up close shots, the dialogue was poor and the character explainations were weak.
If you loved the books, it is a given that you will have to see the movie. Just don't get your hopes up, you wil be left longing for the connection between Bella and Edward that you remember.

Perhaps it's because I read the book first, but I have to say that I was really disappointed with the movie. For those who have not read the book it may have been a different experience. I thought that the showdown between Edward and James would have been much more fierce. We didn't even see them show any teeth! Also, I thought that Victoria's hair should have been FIERY red - instead it looked almost strawberry blond. Also, I had a hard time believing the chemistry between Edward and Bella which I think came across much more intensely in the books. I will say that they did a good job picking Jacob's character. What a cutie pie! He looks pretty much how I would have imagined him.
