I was dragged to this movie by my fourteen year old niece. I did not expect to like it, much less become so interested that I would go straight to the bookstore, right after the movie, to purchase the books. I must admit the first fifteen minutes was a little slow moving, but after that I was smitten by Edward and Bella. The supporting cast was also very amusing.

I really did enjoy the movie and was very excited that it stayed true to the book. I was very disappointed in the portrayal of Edward. It felt very ackward; over the top ackwardness. I was also disappointed in the portrayal of Carlisle. He wasn't what I pictured when I read the books; the actor looked younger than the teenagers. Still, the rest of the characters were portrayed beautifully. The movie was a great experience and I plan to buy the movie on DVD.

As for the movie, I thought the acting was great. We all know the books are a bit cheesy, and that is definitely in the movie, but they all pull it off. I would not call it the best movie ever. I think with the budget they had to work with, Hardwicke did an excellent job of working around that. So overall, good movie. The worst part is the screaming, fans you have to endure listening to while watching the movie.
I also went with three of my guy friends, and they all they all thought is was gonna be horrible. As it turns out, they all thought the movie was great.

This movie is much different than the books, but it was still great. I was a little dissapointed because some of my favorite parts were cut from the movie but it was still good. It was like reading a third part of twilight bedside midnight sun and the first twilight novel. It was funny, i didnt expect that, but it was still romantic and had action. If you love the book, you will love the movie, just dont expect it to be carbon copy of the book or you will be dissapointed.

i think that anyone who wants to c twilight should read the book
it would make more sense
i thought the actors did a pretty good job
but it was a little corny and moved too fast
but robert patterson is sooooooo hottttt

I have been waiting for weeks for this to come out, and I was not disappointed. I thought it was too short. :) You really do need to read the book first to truly enjoy it. They did a great job in keeping with the book and I cannot wait until they make the next one.

this was a great movie!! i expected it to be a little bit better. i LOVE the books and becasue the movie couldnt show a lot of the parts it was kind of a bummer cause i didnt get to see some of my favorite parts. and some things were chagned that really didnt need to be. but none the less it was excellent! the guys are hott, emmett is hysterical, and jacob looks great even in the wig! greatest book ever and a pretty good movie overall tooo :)

I think Twilight did excellent. They stayed as true to the book as they possibly can. The actors were great and the movie was VERY funny at times. Bella and Edward were both EXCELLENT and the whole cast was just perfect. The only thing that I found confusing was the sequence. It's a bit hard to keep up with the movie especially if you've read the book and have a completely different pattern in your mind. I highly suggest reading the book first and also, GO WITH AN OPEN MIND, as the movie will not be as great as the book. Nevertheless, I think twilight was VERY GOOD and definitely worth watching.

If you are thinking about dragging your boyfriend to this flik, you should tell him it is a vampire movie. The whole romance thing is nice, but the movie does not do a great job of selling that angle. Apparently, if you've read the book, the reason for Edward's standoffish nature is clear. Your boyfriend has not read the book! You'll need to explain a lot as you leave the theater. If you want your boyfriend to be like Edward, realize that Edward wants to eat Belle and he is a quick tempered jerk with poor people skills.

As a BIG fan of the series, I read all of the books and read the Movie Companion so I could identify the actors with the characters. Overall, I was not disappointed by the movie. I understand that the movie was a "screen adaptation" of the book. A book cannot be completely transformed into a movie, simply due to time and budget constraints. I was disappointed in a few of the scenes that were changed a bit from the book. I look forward to seeing the next 3. I'm sure they will be getting better and better!

If you have read Twilight, you should not be disappointed as the movie holds pretty true to the book. The characters were very close to Stephanie Meyer's discriptions and you really feel the chemistry grow between Bella and Edward. The special effects were really well done and exciting. There were also a lot of funny moments that lightened the mood. I only wish the movie could have developed some of the other characters a little more, especially Alice, but I guess the movie would have been 3 hours instead of 2.....not that I think anyone would have objected to that. Go see it if you've read the series. You won't be disappointed.

I am also a mom of 2 who read the books (all 4) on my teenage daughters insistence, and fell in love with the characters. We saw the movie on opening night and thought it was well done, for the most part. It followed the book fairly closely, but did not develop the motivations of the characters well enough. It was very bare bones in that respect, which was the only disappointment. I would recommend seeing the movie first so that you are not disappointed, then read the book to flesh out the characters more. Still looking forward to the sequels!

I worried that the actors would not be the characters created by Stephenie Meyer and my vivid imagination. Fortunately this is one movie that was able to bring my vision to life. I know its technically Ms. Meyer's vision, but when I read a book I invest myself in those characters to an extent that I see and hear them when I read. Kudos to Catherine Hardwicke, the actors and the rest of the team.

I think you had to read the book to get the full emotion out of the movie. The movie was a clift note on the book. I wish in the fight scene there was more realism and the hairy look in the meadow that was suppose to look like diamonds which it did from a front look, but from the side it looked like little hairs. Otherwise, the movie stayed to the book and I love the series with a passion. Hardwicke did a great job keeping this movie to the story line of the book. Edward was not who I imagined in the book, but made me believe while watching him. Great actor! I dont find him attractive at all but made me believe he was gorgeous vampire the way he acted.

I have read the book four times and when i was watching the movie i thought all the characters were GORGEOUS but maybe charlie shouldve looked different. As somebody else sed before u cant really watch the movie wihtout reaing it. You probably wouldnt get it because there are some insiders. I took my 11 and 13 year old to this movie and we all loved it! It was awesome and I do not think they could have picked a better person for Edward's character. What a cutie!! There were a few deviations from the book as to be expected any time a movie is based on a novel. However, It did not change the fact that I loved the movie!!! Go see it!!

I think the movie could not compare to the book, like most books made into a movie. Budget must be taken into consideration, also. We laughed a whole lot, which was good. Pattinson looked incredible on the screen, of course. There were parts that were so cheesy, though! If you had not read the book, I don't think you would like it at all. So, I would only recommend after reading the book.

I thought Twilight overall was good. I went with my boyfriend, who wasn't as excited as I was, and my friend and her boyfriend. I kept having to explain some parts to them cuz none of them have read the book. I found myself saying "That's not how it happened in the book" quite a few times. But I really enjoyed the movie and all the actors were great and I would definately see it again and again.

I am a 35 mom of two and I feel in love with the book series. Twilight is the first movie in a long time that I found was on the spot with book to movie adapation. I loved the movie, I thought the actors were brillant and played the parts right. I found most of the important scenes from the book in the movie and I can not wait for the sequals to be made.

The movie was great. It is definately a good idea to read the book first so you understand the way the movie is filmed. The dialogue and slowness of the scenes is exactly how the book makes you feel, like you are caught in that exact moment and the rest of the world does not exsist. Read the book(s) and GO SEE THE MOVIE!!! Good set up for movie #2 at end of Twilight, I can't wait to see it!

I really LOVED the movie. Words cant explained how I feel about this movie. The actors that played Edward, Bella, and everyone was super. When reading the book, these are the character that I thought of. The casting director did an excellent job in casting them. They brought life to the book and you could really connect to everyone in the movie. One part of the movie that I dislike was, that it moved really fast. It didnt take its time to really express the chemistry with Bella and Edward. But you could tell that Rob and Kristen really had chemistry without even trying.
Overall I really LOVED this movie and I hope everyone goes and sees it. Also read the books!

This movie was good, and i agree with a former poster that you have to read the book before seeing the movie. I think that it was kind of cheesy, but that is why I loved it so. If there are diehards who believe that the movie has to stick strictly to the book , well you will be kind of disappointed. Though the movie stays true to the book in some aspects, in others it does not. The movie is a must see, I will see it again during the Thanksgiving holiday.

my friends and i went to see it, we totally loved it. it was a bit awkward at first between bella and edward. normally my friends and i are pretty quite while watching movies but we couldn't help but be critics during the movie. i think the actors did great. there was definite chemistry between robert and kristen. those two hours seemed to fly by. i pray to the gods that are summit entertainment that we get to see more movies!!

I went into this movie with low expectations since movie adaptaions of books are often bad (with the exception of Lord of the Rings). However, I was pleasently suprised with this movie. There were a lot of funny, akward moments, Rob did a wonderful job, but Kristen was kinda boring. If you plan to see this movie, read the book first.
