I'm a bit biased because I love Angela Bassett. The movie was good and entertaining. Some of the characters were a bit too over the top and Madea's car chase scene could have been left off eventhough it was funny.
The hild actors I think did a great job as well.

The movie was entertaining up to a point, but Angela Bassett, who has to be approaching 50 by now, playing a young single inner-city Mom in 5 inch stiletto heels? Her best friend was Latina painted with a VERY broad brush. One of her kids was constantly giving attitude and didn't get disciplined for it once. The rest of the script was standard Tyler Perry, religion, family, tragedy, a broken-hearted woman treated badly by a man, and a very funny cameo by Madea. Entertaining, but not outstanding.

This move was a mixture between the stage plays "Meet the Browns" and "What's Done in the Dark" all wrapped in one. I was not as pleased as I have been in the past when viewing a Tyler Perry movie. I am an avid supporter of his work but this one just didn't cut the cake. This movie was very poorly casted and written. It had so many of the typical "button pushers" that this type of story holds (somebody dies, somebody gets shot, someones an outcast, kids are suffering). It was way to predictable and so not funny. And why did they keep calling Angela Basset's character "a young mother" through out the movie and she over dramatically cried so many times that it plucked my nerves. This movie had no flow to it at all. It seemed like it was written in a hurry and it was all over the place, the emotions seemed forced, akward to watch and hard to connect with.

I am one who actually like all Tyler Perry products. I have all his plays and all his movies. However, this movie really didn't quite move me. I love Angela Bassett she is one of my favorite Actresses and David and Tamela Mann are the couple of the year as far as I am concerned when it comes to doing business and keeping it together. But the movie itself was....just ok. There were some funny parts. However there were several spots where I felt this movie just did not transition well AT ALL. And then some of the lines, jokes, and acting skill just seemed forced. Overall i would give this a 3.

I'm a Tyler Perry fan, I've been to every one of his plays and movies. In my opinion, "Meet the Browns" wasn't well thought out and put together . I thought it could have been better than what it was. For it to be a comedy I laughed more at the end during the outtakes than throughout the entire movie. However , I will continue to support Tyler Perry.

this movie was very hilarious and at the same time teaches single mothers never to give up hope on yourself and your kids. it also shows that there are true loving and devoted men who are sent from GOD and you not even knowing it. A valuable lesson is to listen to your inner-being and not allow others to control your thoughts and feelings. This movie was very inspirational and that's why I overall gave it an "A"!!! I love you Tyler Perry and keep up the good work!!!!
