A Home Video Type Movie Poor camera angles, shaky camera work, and no script or lack of, acting was good. It moves really slow and had hoped I would finally see a movie that was scary. To me it was not scary but there were a few parts, maybe three at the most, that made me jump. I could not wait until the movie was over because for me it did not seem all that entertaining or exciting. I have seen scarier things or things that made my skin crawl while watching the discovery channel when they do the haunting series. I think the theater price to see this movie is a bit high for what this movie is. I almost left a few times but stayed to at least attempt to get my money's worth. Save your money

This movie is amzing! It starts off slow, to set everything up, but it picks up really quickly. If you can let yourself get into it, it's enticing, scary, and incredibly fun to watch with friends and family. I'd so reccomend it.

If you're into the paranormal at all (even the reality shows about it) you'll like this one. I actually like the shaky camera work and fact that you weren't screaming 10 minutes in. You felt like these people were people you could relate to because it seemed like raw footage! I couldn't sleep after. Best part was the last 10-15 minutes!!!

Less then 30 minutes into the movie I was already looking at my watch. Talk about boring, and the shaky camera work had me sick all the way through the movie. The only "scary" part is within the last 15 minutes. This movie is aweful and there's nothing "real" about it...it;s basically Blair Witch Project 2009. It was such a let down that the people in the theater were actually booing at the end. Do not waste your money.

I never get scared when I see "scary movies." However the last 30-45 minutes of this movie ligitimaly scared me! I found the bickering and bantor of the couple to be comical. Having comedy and horror in one movie is pretty tricky but this movie has accomplished it. I would recomend it to anyone who is looked to get scared. It's legit!

Man, I wanted to like this movie. Well, if you saw the preview, you saw all the good parts of the movie. It was NOT scary for any real horror movie fan. Blair Witch was much better. The end is creepy but that is about it. If it was a short film of 30 minutes, it would have been better. Acting was bad. Sad, but 97 minutes was too long. Very disappointed here. way over hyped.

Paranormal Activity builds great suspense as the viewers get pulled through the turmoil this couple is living with. With such a limited setting and no usage of horror gimmicks, the movie instills a sense of dread, terror, and fearful anticipation. I do wish we'd been shown the original ending and not the one with Katie's face grinning in the camera. That was the only hokey part of the film. A must see for fans of a truly scary movie!

Where to begin, it was ok for my taste. I was hoping to get scared but unfortunately i was let down. This movie would be nothing to an average thrill seeker. If it wasnt for my interest in ghost then yea i would get scared. I did like the disturbing scenes that occurred throughout the movie though. This is really good for a low budget film, much props. The movie had its funny moments. It kept my attention and yes i wanted more. Experience would've been better with less screaming from the audience and no m0aning from the group of h0mo guys behind me. Good film overall! :)

I had to see Paranormal Activity because I'm a fan of anything paranormal.
I seemed like the oldest in the theater, and I'm under 50. I would have preferred less talking to the screen, yelling, and texting from the audience.
This is a love-it-or-hate-it movie, and the friend who went with me hated it. It must be said, though, that this person was brought up to not believe in ghosts/demons. I was, and unless you have that inate fear of them this movie won't work for you.
The plot doesn't move at breakneck speed. Still, it provides good scares, in an old-fashioned way. Perhaps, as technology has advanced, we demand a thrill a minute in movies. Personally, I liked that the movie had a leisurely pace and that the suspense built up.

Had it not been for the ghetto commentary that was running throughout the entire movie, it would have been better. If you go, make sure you go see it when there aren't little gang bangers in the theater. Or kids that have to yell, "oh my god!" at every scene. Otherwise, its preety good! The ending is well done!

The premise that Demon's, which are invisible, can come and go as they please, but only capable of visiting at night, made the movie less than believable - I was glad when the movie ended

Sometimes hype hurts a movie just as much as it helps it. This was definitely the case in Paranormal Activity; it's only the hype that gets this movie distributed and gets people interested in going to see it, so that's good for the makers. The problem is all that hype gives people expectations that the movie just doesn't live up to, which sucks for the audience.
There was about as much explanation of the "haunting" in this movie as there was in the Blair Witch Project, which was kind of a bummer. It had some creepy images, but otherwise it was just too flat.

Did not live up to the hype. The camera movement made my wife dizzy. The instant the camera came off the tripod, she covered her eyes. I expected it to be scarier. I did wake up the next morning thinking about certain scenes,. It made a bigger impression on my psyche than I suspected.
No, I do not recommend this movie.

I went to see Paranormal Activity this past Saturday night and the memory of the movie still haunts me. I still have sounds of screaming in my ears and certain horrifying scenes in my mind that seriously bring tears to my eyes because it is just that scary. This movie does more than just scare you, it messes with your head. After the first few nights of this young couples experience the viewer begins to relate certain sounds, times, and actions to fear of what will happen next. It stresses you out, and keeps you on your toes. It does live up to the hype, and I would suggest anyone who enjoys a good scare like me to go see it while its still in the theaters.
