Going into this film I had my doubts as to if it was going to be as scary as I hoped it would be. From the trailers I felt like maybe it was going to be corny and really fake looking....but....once I was in the theater and the movie was playing I quickly changed my mind. This movie seriously terrified me. I don't usually get scared at scary movies...actually I usually laugh. This movie made me not wanna be home alone let alone sleep. I strongly recommend it to anyone and everyone....we all need a good scare every once and a while.

I went to see Paranormal Activity, I read what the movie was about on the Internet before I went to see it. Did I believe what I read, nah! So, little did I know it was actual footage of these poor kids in their home being terrorized by this demon. I love to be scared, love scary movies, I was very naive about seeing this movie. What you see is actual footage people! I got home and I was sitting in my chair watching TV and I started shaking thinking about that friggin movie, it is fact, it is real!

I have yet to come across a film that terrified me. Films that were based on actual events didn't get the same reaction out of me that this film did. Truly terrifying if you ask me. I wanted a good scare and that's what I got. Totally satisfied. Great job. Glad they released the original and not a Hollywood remake.

A proper scary movie leaves a lasting impression on your mind long after the movie is seen. It festers in your brain, and grows from your fear. This is movie was actually scary, unlike other "scary movies" that leave you wondering why it was even made. The unknown, the unseen has always stired a deep natural fear within all. This wasn't a typical gory physical horror movie; instead, it was a psychological horror film (the scary part is what you DON'T see). It was done so well that even though I knew the movie wasn't real, I still got goose bumps all the way through. The end of the movie was terrifying, and my friend who came with me screamed like a little girl, spilled the popcorn, and would have jumped into my lap had the armrest not been in the way. Truly a good scare!

I saw this movie with my wife at a 12a.m. showing. My wife didnt want to go and I could not wait. The movie house was packed. sold out? about half way thru the up coming movie previews the sound started having problems, It was not able to be fixed in time so we were moved to another room. By now it is about 12:30a.m. After about 30 min. into the movie a few people started heckling the pace of the action in the movie and a few people left. But if you stayed and gave this movie a chance it did not disapoint!!! My wife and I enjoyed this movie and would recomend it to all adults...I would say this was the best scary movie I have seen in forever. Amazing, the finised product, with what these people had to work with. Great acting.

This movie is truly scary. I went to the midnight show alone, and I live alone, and coming home I turned on all the lights and had to sit up a few hours before I could go to bed, and even then I couldn't get the movie's scary scenes out of my head. For the one who said this movie "isn't scary" - you must think it takes blood and gore to be scary, which is quite childish. This is real, honestly scary stuff. It builds and builds tension and paranoia and gets scarier and scarier all the way through. Everyone was scared in the theater, and it wasn't just the girls who were screaming out loud. I actually had goose bumps all over - that has rarely ever happened to me at a movie. If you love to be scared, GO SEE IT!!!!

From what I saw (our movie was suppose to start at 4:30 but started at 4:00) since we missed about 10 mins it was good. You could tell this movie didn't have a whole lot to spend. Although, I think it could have been a little more "jaw dropping" I mean things like this could happen so it was good enough for me. But for someone who loves bloody movies this is not one to go see. I mean explaining the movie to other people is very easy. The first 15-25 minutes leaves you asking yourself: "ok where is the scary stuff'? But the rest of the movie is a bone chilling ,spine tingling account that makes you wonder if what you are watching is real or was it just well acted. I loved this movie from start to end, it has a great story told by two very believable characters. Scariest movie of all time? Not disappointing at all. It has everything one wants out of a scary movie and more! The director & writer, Oren Peli, did a fantastic job at creating suspense. From writing to marketing, this movie is smart. It's refreshing to see a movie of this kind that doesn't stoop to unnecessary gore and laziness. Yes, there are times where you are hoping that boyfriend Micah gets attacked by whatever it is he's provoking, but that's part of it right? This movie was able to use the one true thing that other so-called blockbusters always forgets to use: The audience's imagination of the unknown. Omei Peli (director/writer) not only understood this concept but he was also able to use it to his advantage in a original and splendid way. Although there is a Blair Witch feel to it, the fear that was felt throughout the entire film was something I have never experience before. No fancy special effects were needed to get my heart pumping. In fact there was no hit soundtrack just eerie sounds used to intensify your fear. Let's just say the ending is fantastic. In other words go see this film, just make sure you don't sleep alone. Really.

I always get scared and jump at movies, but when my boyfriend started jumping I knew it was a good movie! Though the camera may shake and the movie may be drawn out in the beginning (to make up time) it was overall a great movie! I went to see it on 42nd street and thankfully we got there early because by the time the trailers began, there were no seats left! GO SEE IT!!

I've never jumped so hard watching a horror film in my entire life! Yes, the first part of the movie is a little slow, but it gives you a chance to see the characters and get a sense of their relationship. By the end of the film, everything has gone to @$#&! I love horror films, and never have I hated the idea to go home alone after a watching a "scary movie". Get ready to raise your voice, because this movie will have you screaming!

If you want to be chilled to the bone, if you want to be scared out of your mind... if you love the thrill of a well done scary movie... you NEED to go see this movie. If it isn't in your area, you NEED to request it to be in your area... If you do go see it... you NEED to leave the lights on when you go to sleep. It WILL freak you out. One of the most well done scary movies I've ever seen!

Well lets just say we went and did not get there till it started (bad idea) theater was packed. We set up front which I thought was why I was getting sea sick. The camrea movement is hard on the eyes about half way thru the movie but if you leave before the end YOU WILL WISH YOU DIDNT. Sure movie was slow like telling a ghost story but the last 20 min kept u watching. Its the not knowing if ghosts are real that makes you feel wierd about going to bed at night.
