This was an excellent movie. I thoroughly enjoyed it. I'm a nut about movie scores, so to listen to the score of this movie just made me very happy. The composer's techniques and musical styles fit in perfectly with the movie. I think this is the best acting that Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint, and Emma Watson have ever done, the special effects were amazing (as always) and I will be extremely surprised if this movie does not with at least on Academy Award (Oscar) for something. This movie was overall a masterpiece and I cannot wait for the second part to come out this summer.

I enjoyed this movie However, Order of the Phoenex is still my fav! Could have left out the nakid Harry and Herminie portion and it would have been just as good! One of the best parts of this movie included everyone becoming Harry- When threesome took on new faces and then - when Ron saved Harry - saying good bye to a friend. Yep.. well worth staying up late, standing in line for 2 hours - Hated the ending.. I don't like waiting until summer to see the rest!

My daughter and I went to see this at the midnight showing at our local theater. We were not disappointed. As an avid fan of the books I was please that the story did not sway too far from the books. as a fan of the books who has read them numerous times I can see that some fans who have not read the books may be confused in some places...if they were paying close attention. But all in all the movie was excellent. I am sure that no fan of any book turned to movie will be 100% satisfied - I would have given the movie 4.5 stars if that was an option only for the fact that small details were left out that I felt were essential to the story - but I left the theater with a smile and more excited for Part Two.
On a side note I heard from various critics that this movie is not for kids, while it is dark and there are some images of death I brought my 10 year old daughter who has seen all the movies and I never felt once that this movie was inappropriate for her. Maybe if you have kids 7 or younger you may want to watch it first and then decide but I felt that the PG-13 rating was just a recommendation. ENJOY! IT WAS WORTH SEEING IT ON THE BIG SCREEN. And if you have the extra cash get the D-Box seats when I go for part 2 I will definitely spring for those - the people that sat in them said the experience was amazing.

I am very very satisfied with the 7th installment of Harry Potter. Although part 1 was more about their paths to find and destroy the horcruxes, which I'm not gunna lie, was pretty boring in the book, they really did their best in putting in the details and facial expressions to really capture the three isolated from the rest of the world. To me, it was more real. Like did you notice there was not much background music when they were traveling?.
AND, I loved how the humor was not "trying too hard" humor that I found in the last movie. Fred and George were perfect providers of comic relief.
Plus the subtly of Ron and Hermione's growing love for each other (not gushy but slow and steady) was possibly the greatest thing ever!!! ahh Rupert Grint, will you marry me????
It was worth the 2 hours and 30 minutes of sitting on my seat and the money!!
I am seeing it again tonight, but with my Dad this time! :]

This was an fantastic movie. From begin to end I absolutely loved it. There were only 2 parts that I noticed as a obsessed book reader that were different. But besides that it followed the book. And was worth staying up to watch it at the midnight premier.

Wife and I are in our sixties and were easily the oldest folks at last night's midnight opening, but the experience was more than worth the wait. We felt the movie was very well done, and as faithful as could be expected to the book. Sad to see the end of an era coming to a close, but this is set up to end with a real bang. Harry Potter fans should be delighted with the quality of this film.

I have read all Harry Potter books, and as far as the story line goes... Perfect. But I must say that I am confused about rather or not these are still kid movies. I know the books progressed in to a more serious style towards the end, but sex? I just don't think that's acceptable. Although Harmione was sexy naked. They didn't even play that cheezey tune from all the other ones. In my humble opinion... Harry Potter is trying to be Twilight. Serious, dramatic, sexy, and GAY!!!

The latest installment on its own was good. Amazing effects (CGI, stunts, and special), good attempt to follow the book main plotline, and fantastic job on the music. The directing also seemed more in tune with Chris Columbus's idea that the plot should follow more of the book than trying to make it go off on it's own like what Alfonso Cuarón did with HP3. Fast paced with little backstory, the writers keep the audience just informed and intrigued. If you are sitting on the fence to see this one, go and see the matinée, but this should be seen in the theater.

JK Rowling is the most imaginative, most amazing writer! These stories are so detailed and complicated that there is no way a movie could ever live up to them.
However, this movie is the best representation of the books possible. Yes, the 7nth harry potter book is amazing and this does not capture everything in the book but there is no way movie can.
Even though this movie has not captured everything in the book. It was an amazing movie with a good balance of humor, action, and story line between Harry, Ron and Hermonie.

it was truly amazing it was so good. it brought back somthings from the first movies which i liked and it explained alot of what we dont know but has been there a long time. it had sarcasim which kept it uplifting but it also had sad parts. i am glad though they made it into 2 parts because if it hadnt i dont know if i coulkd of taken how long it was. it was really good though and i cant wait for the second part to come out because if it is anything like part 1 then it willl be a great ending to along time of harry potter movies. it is making me sad i can go back to just when i was a little kid and harry potter and the sorcers stone just came out . it was surprising to see how good it was. the harry potter cast and crew really out did them selves. if you havent seen it yet you need to see it soon.

If you read the book, this movie does not disappoint. There were about four things off, but the movie did a great job at following the book. Every scene was how I imagined it. The action was great and the suspenseful scenes really put me on edge. The Harry Potter cast really outdone themselves in this movie. I REALLY CAN'T WAIT for part 2!

I've felt that the Harry Potter films have been doing downhill for a while, but this one definitely was as good as the first few. They only cut a few plot points, and although there were a lot of details that were glossed over, just about everything important was there. The creepy bits were appropriately creepy, the funny bits were suitably funny, and overall it was a success!

I absolutely loved this (half) installment of the 7th Harry Potter book, the Deathly Hallows. I can honestly say that any fans of the book will enjoy this movie without complaints, as it is, in my opinion, the most true to the book so far. I laughed at parts, cried at parts, and sat on the edge of my seat in anticipation at parts making it a full rounded experience. I don't want to give away what was included into the first half for those who haven't seen it, but trust me - YOU WILL LOVE IT! I've heard the complaint that it doesn't feel like a full movie, like something is missing, like there's no resolution. To that I say, DUH. Keep in mind it is the the first HALF, so it doesn't have the story line typical of a regular movie. It's like watching half of a reeeeaaaaallllllyyyy good movie then pressing stop. So if you feel like it's missing something, you're right, it's missing the end :) Keep that in perspective and you will thoroughly enjoy part of the final installment.

As an avid Harry Potter fan, I was thrilled with DH part 1. The emotions felt throughout were wide ranged. The connection to the characters was as strong as ever. Even those who did not read the books should be able to enjoy it just as much. The divide for the movies is perfect. I can't wait for part 2!

We went to the midnight showing and would do this again in a heart beat! We love seeing the Weasley twins and Dobby. We were thrilled seeing actual scenes coming the life from the book. The changes they did make were fine and still worked. The comedy they provided helped with this dark book. It made the characters more personable to you. We were surprised that Ginny's dress was so far down her back and that in Ron's jealous vision of Hermione and Harry, they were undressed. The positives far, far, far out weigh any negative. We can't wait for the next movie!!!

This was by far the best Harry Potter movie yet. Although of course some details were ommitted, in a series this complex everything can not be included. Nothing that was cut was crucial to the plot, and as a hard core fan of the book I was not disapointed. There were scenes in which I was jumping and screaming one second and laughing the next. The balance between dark action and humor was well crafted. Overall, I definitely recommend it, even for people who aren't fans of the series, as this movie also managed to do the impossible: satisfy fans and be an excellent stand alone film!

I took kids and friends to the midnight show - for an old guy like me Friday at 9 would have been fine. Good movie, well made. Sadly so many GREAT actors get a about 2 minutes screen time each because there is so much ground to cover. Can't wait for the grand finale!

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part I was all it has been hyped to be. It was dark, fast-paced and gritty. The three stars were superb in their performances of our favorite wizards and witch. And as was to be expected of a "Part I" it was a real cliff hangar. It left me with a need to see Part II just to get closure. Strongly recommend seeing it as a soon-to-be classic.

This movie was well paid for. Its a movie that kept me on my toes and the edge of my seat the whole time wondering what was going to happen next since I had not read the books. The ending of the first part was very well set up to make the audience want to see what will happen next. Overall the movie played well and was well worth the money.

Well worth the sleep deprivation. As huge HP fans of the books and movies it's one of our favorite on screen depictions. The movie is skillfully crafted to portray a range of emotions and did not force the plot to appeal to an audience wider than true Potter fans.
