The movie followed the story line fairly well, having read The Deathly Hallows over 5 times I think I have the story down. The acting was extremely disappointing.... I expected much more from this cast after being pulled in with the last movies from the Harry Potter series.. This is by far the worst film in the series..
I would only recommend you see this if you are an avid follower of Harry Potter and the books. If you are new or are impartial to the series I would not recommend seeing this movie.

I've loved the other Harry Potter movies despite all the changes they've made, but this movie was so close to the book, I could only find a handful of differences. Pretty much the only things that were changed were things that were able to be left out from the book, and the things they added tied in very well. The actors have all grown, especially Emma, and are most in tune with the characters they play than ever. I can't wait to watch it again, and I can't wait to see Part 2!

Congratulations Mr. Yates and Mr. Heyman, you finally did it! This movie keeps you on the edge of your chair, even if you have already read the book. The cast continues to get the action and hint of comedy and romance just right in the Deathly Hallows... even Daniel and Emma!

Took my breath away! The emotion and action that they managed to balance in the movie was stunning. I've heard others say they didn't do a good enough job catching newcomers up and that you shouldn't have to read a 700 page book just to know what's going on but I have to say it's kind of late in the game for them to recap everything for people who haven't at least seen some of the previous movies. But regardless, I think they stayed loyal to the book and did an amazing job and I can't wait to see the last installment!

The movie is great. It's a perfect example of how a book should be made into a movie. Many things from the book were left out but that was to leave room for emphasis on crucial scenes. It proved that pushing theatrical effects into the plot of a book would result in a truly extraordinary experience. The only complaint I had was the presentation of Voldemort. I didn't feel the fear and anger that I wanted to feel.

Oh God! I just wasted a good evening watching this poorly written movie! I really liked the Harry Potter film before this one. What happened?
Join the gang on a confusing and pointless journey that could have been told in 30 minutes as opposed to 2 & 1/2 hours! It was like a drawn out televison episode.
Don't waste your time or your money on this one. I'm sorry to give this sucker a bad review but it deserves it! Good thing this series is coming to an END!

This is a great movie. It stays true to the book more than any other movie has and is just great. Everyone was so into the movie that you could have heard a pin drop. I can't wait for the second half. You will not be disappointed when you see it. I plan to definitely go again.

I think this installment of the franchise is the most accurate compared to the previous films. I can't imagine how long each movie would be if they were set up into parts like this one in order to pull out all the details in the book. In my opinion, this is the best way to end series. They had all the details and didn't leave anything out. Although, I feel that in order to have a better understanding of Parts 1 and 2, you need to read the book. There's a lot of detail in it and you might have even forgot some important events that happened in the book. In all essence, this film was visually stunning, the soundtrack delivered, acting was amazing, and it ended unexpectedly well. The whole time I was wondering how they would end Part 1, and to my surprise, it has left me anticipating Part 2.

I have no complaints, the film stayed almost compleatly true to the book. It was very well pulled together, the actors were as wonderful as ever, and the special effects as well. I did not feel like as if I was sitting in the theater for two and a half hours. I will definalty be seeing this movie a second and maybe a third time while it remains in theaters.

Some people think the movie split is just a ploy to make more money, but I totally disagree. I think the reason why this movie felt so much like the books and the character depth was so much more believable is because they had so much more time to build on every scene. This was without a doubt my favorite HP movie thus far. Of course certain scenes have to be left out and/or changed for time even in the longer movies but everything about this film was so potent! The black horcrux cloud for instance was incredibly well done and so much more potent than I could have hoped for. The cinematography was beautiful and there was a lot more action than the overly critical critics would have you believe.
I'll definitely see it again in theaters :D

Harry Potter pleases as always! Everything was well done, followed right along with the book, barely anything left out or added. Things that were added were a great addition to the movie. Can't wait for part 2! It's so sad that this is all finally coming to an end. :( It's been a helluva ride!

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows is an excellent adaptation of the book (of the same title) by J.K. Rowling. If you have read the books you will find that there are some changes, obviously It would be difficult to put the entire book on film. The movie grabs your right from the beginning and holds you at the edge of your seat. For those parents looking to bring your young children, be warned that this is the darkest of all the movies, and may be a little too intense. The maturity of your child is something you should know, so if you have any doubts I might see it ahead of them just to make sure. All in all a great movie, can't wait for part 2.

I knew that this movie was the plot builder for the last but it held its own as well! Finally brought Dobby back to the films and filled in some holes that needed to be filled before the last movie. Of course they can't put in everything from the books but I thought they did a great job editing what needed to be in this time.

There was a HP Adventure were I sat and watched the 5th movie until the 7th. I was already in the HP spirit and ready for more. As a vivid reader of the HP series, I was very satisfied with the movie. Yes, like every HP movie out there, there were small scenes that weren't in the movie, but were still mentioned. As an example, Harry's B-Day. Even though, the movie was very close to the book and I loved it. It is something worth watching again, if not in IMAX, regular screen will hit the spot too.

Take into account that I haven't read the books. In comparison to some of the other movies, this was not the best of the series. Though it did deepen the story line quite a bit, there were plenty of parts that seemed to drag a bit, with a lot of suspense and emotion. I was expecting a little more action from the movie then I received; however, the movie standing by itself was still excellent, and certainly established a hefty wait for Part 2. I saw it at midnight, waited for hours, and certainly do not feel disappointed in any way. I just felt that Goblet of Fire and Order of the Phoenix were a little better.

Overall the movie kept me on the edge of my seat for the entire 2+ hours. I would reccomend it to others. Only bad thing is it left you hanging waiting for P2 but it is kind of expected.

i have never seen nor read a Harry Potter book prior to watching the premier of this newest installment in the Harry Potter series. after being given a brief synopsis from my girlfriend we then watched the movie (with occasional clarifications from her). i found it quite entertaining and well worth the cost. good job.

Well, saw it at midnight last night, and I was impressed. The movie was very, very good, and incorporated the book well. I did miss certain parts of the book that I felt like they should have left in, but I understand that time is a factor on the big screen. There were some very moving scenes that really brought the book to life. I can't wait to see part 2!

Wonderful show! Suspend your disbelief and enter into the world of Potter/Rowlings. It is a movie folks, so not all of the book can be portrayed, but this series is as close as anything offered today. The special effects are perfect and the story line flows seamlessly. Great fun time for all!
