David Yates is great. His interpretation of Harry Potter books are for the best. He adds and cuts scenes to make the original script better adjusted for the watching experience. In this movie the talent of the trio was arguable the most noticable. Simply these young stars did an amazing job. This movie was really funny too. Well whenever you have "Ron Weasley" it's funny.

I thought they were fairly true to the book. I think they did pretty good keeping the most important parts intact.
I forgive some the inconsistencies and alterations that were done, after all, there is only so much that can be fit in the time frame.
There were several points in the movie that the theater chuckled or laughed out loud.
Leaving Harry's house at the beginning was pretty good, though there was a little left out with Dudley that I would have liked to have seen.
I wish the last few Harry Potter books could have the 12 hour (per book) mini-series treatment.
I am already antsy waiting for Part 2.

Exciting and intriguing adaptation of the first half of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. David Yates does an excellent job of adapting the book to film. A few gaps that people who haven't read the books a little confusing, but also some very clever choices and adjustments. Lots of action, but allows the characters to develop more fully than in previous movies.

Out of all the movies so far, I think this one is the best. The movie captured the lonely and lost feelings of Hermione, Ron, and Harry very well and also the overall dark, frightened feeling of everyone in the film. I can't wait to see part 2!

I was SO excited to see this movie and it turned out to be even better than I had imagined. I was a little disappointed at the things the left out from the book but I understood that they couldn't put EVERYTHING in. But it was WAY better than the 6th movie. I had just read the book before I saw the movie and I was still delighted. When I had read the sixth book right before the movie, I completely hated the movie.
Overall, the movie was great. However, I don't recommend ever reading the book before seeing the movie.

The movie stayed as true to the book as it possibly could and was absolutely fantastic from start to finish. It had me reeling for hours and I am seriously going to have a hard time waiting for Part II to come out in July. Part I was just excellent.

So good. These characters are so well developed now , you feel like you know them. The movie captures the mood and important details of the book and even adds a bit. This is definitely a movie for the people who have read the Harry Potter series.
This movie was much better than the most recent Harry Potter movies. I believe that many of the previous Harry Potter movies suffered from trying to cram too much into a single movie. This movie does not have that problem. It is true to the book. I didn't have the disappointed feeling about scenes that didn't make it that I had when watcing previous Harry Potter films.
This movie captured the feel I remembered from the book very well. While there are funny moments, the sense of the dark times never lifts. The complicated relationship between Harry, Ron and Hermione was captured perfectly.
This may be my favorite Harry Potter movie to date, and I can't wait for part II!

Awesome job at staying true to the novel. The movie causes you to gasp in many places due to the abruptness of the action which gives a 3D effect without the glasses.There were some things they didn't keep in or shortened but nothing major, in my opinion. (spoiler alert) I disagreed with the choice to not show the scene of goodbye in more detail between Harry and the Dursleys. It would have added to the tone of melancholy the director was trying to produce in 5 or less minutes. I was not surprised by where they chose to end things and in fact, I thought it was masterfully done. The acting was stellar, you can really see the maturing that has taken place between all three of the main characters. I was pleased to see as well that Ralph Fiennes scene wasn't cut and that they kept alot of that beginning tension in the scene where Snape arrives at the Malfoy residence. GO SEE IT!! IT ROCKS! I'm going again and again...

I really enjoyed the movie. For the first time I felt like David Yates read the book. Obviously somethings were left out but he kept most of the important things. I was disapointed that we did not see the attitude change with creacher and there is a big problem with the Lovegoods house sceen they never showed the diadem curious how the will resolve this expecialy since Hary did not see it in the 6th movie but over all it did a verry good job to sticking to the script. My only other disapointment "Why did the negelct to have Harry take Mad Eye's eye back?".

This review comes from someone who has only watched the movies and never read the books. It was much darker then the earlier ones but I enjoyed that. The many intense moments were divided with some very funny scenes that helped relax the audience. Can't wait for the last addition to come out!

This movie follows the book remarkably well, especially in comparison to the last few movies. There are certainly a few omissions, a few additions, and a number of changes, but on the whole it is very true to the book. Unlike in most of the past movies, the changes they make in this movie seem to have a "good" reason behind them. Quite poignant--there seems to be a lot more emotion successfully communicated in this movie than there have been in past movies. It far exceeded my expectations (though, granted, my expectations were not high). Though it's 2.5 hours long, it seems incredibly short while watching it--at one point I thought in astonishment, "It's almost over! But it feels like I've only been watching it for perhaps an hour!" This movie is significantly better than the other movies: well-worth the money!

They did it right! In order to tell the story properly it needed to be divided into two films. This allowed the story to be truer to the novel. Unfortunately, it will leave you wanting more & more; and I for one can't wait for July!

Out of all the harry potter movies made, this one takes the cake! Although there is some nudity which I thought was totally unnecessary, the movie is filled with lots of action, suspense, and even some great comedic relief from the dark plot line. Definitely go see this movie!

Without a doubt this latest in the long line of Harry Potter movies is the best of the lot. Action, Comedy, Drama, Suspense, what was in the book wasn't missed in the movie due to the masterfully way it was scripted. You will leave the Movie Theater wishing Part II was coming out next month, not next July.
This is a movie worth seeing more than once, it is that good. I recommend this movie highly.

The movie itself was fantastic. a visual masterpiece in its own rights. but for those avid readers who loved the book series, this movie leaves quite a bit lacking. by itself it is well done, as all the HP movies were, but when compared to the book it leaves watchers wanting more.
