the movie was very much like the book, there were a few small intimate details i wish they added in, but far from disappointing! it executed the action scenes very well and i still felt surprised even though i knew what was going to happen! i would definitely see it again and again!

Finally, a Harry Potter movie that JK would be proud of...oh yea she's one of the producers.
A lot more action than I expected, they took some long not so exciting sceens from teh movie and made them great! The 2 and a half hours fly by! Can't wait for part 2!

after 2.5 hrs, nothing really happens in this movie. just a scam to make people pay twice for one movie, by breaking it into two parts. i guess why not, when there are a lot of suckers, like me, who fall for it.

As a huge fan of the books, I always look forward to the release of the film adaptations. However, part of me is always afraid to see how the movies will do injustice to the books. Deathly Hallows though did not disappoint in any way!
I've seen it once so far and I can't wait to go and see it again!

Read some reviews before going & agree that if you aren't a Harry Potter fan, this movie will be lost on you....but then again, who would go see HP7 having NOT seen the others? For those fans out there-this movie delivers. It is funny, has lots of suspense, and most importantly sets up the final movies perfectly. Poignient in many areas, sad in some, but overall great entertainment. The ending left you wanting more which is exactly what it should do. Can't wait for the next one!

This is the best HP film yet. It was very close to the book, of course some things were left out but they can't fit everything into the movie. I think this adaption of an HP book was the best. They did such a great job portraying the trio and the problems they are facing, and I was pleasantly surprised by their performances. I cried, I laughed, I was frightened, and this movie was very entertaining. I am definitely going to see it again in IMAX.

This movie really surprised me... I didn't think that it would be so different from the other previous ones... but was I wrong! HP7 really brought out the excitement and edge of the seat suspense that a lot of movies lack these days. Even though this movie is two and a half hours long, I really couldn't tell how the time flew by so fast because my eyes were glued to the screen. Overall, it's definately a lasting impression of the series and can't wait for the next part to come out!

While this movie is clearly a setup for the last installment, it was entertaining to watch and a great continuation of this beloved series. Not as much for kids as the last few movies as it is a lot darker and more melancholy. The acting by the golden trio has improved greatly and they draw you in and make you feel for the characters more than any movie so far.

I thought that the movie was good...Just like the beginning of any book this movie definately left you wanting more. We went to see it at thursday at midnight and I thought the movie moved along well enough to keep me interested when I was oh so tired.There have been Potter movies in the past that have lost my attention. Was a little disappointed in the deaths that were dismissed, but honestly any more attention would have made the movie too long. And it wouldn't be a good movie with at least one jump that I knew was coming, but still jumped.

Could anyone who hasn't read HP and the Deathly Hallows understand this movie? I saw it at 12:01am, then at 8:30pm opening day, and only understood it the second time because I'd read the books and saw the previous movies. It's very dark both in photography and mood. Hermine and Mundungous slur their words -- the sound quality of the dialogue could be much better. And do NOT take little kids -- the snake attacks are horrifying. Still, for HP fans, it is a must see, and worth the money.

I am a huge fan of the Harry Potter books, but was rather disappointed with the movie. I thought that with the final book being broken down into two movies, they would be able to fit more details into the movie. I was very disappointed that they were not able to successfully do this.

This movie was amazing. It does a great job with action scenes and it also takes you on a hunt to reveal the meaning behind basic things overlooked in the other movies. I found this movie to be not what i expected. Although it had very interesting and detailed special effects, the story carried on and on and it had the worst ending i have seen in my life. The bad this about the ending is that it didnt even make me necesarily want to see the next one. Overall, i give the movie two stars, because they deserve one extra star from me for the effects. But really, even if your a fan of the book series, it is painfully boring and not the tense at all. I didnt feel the excitement of even the first harry potter, even when that elf doby thing died. Please dont go and get it as a one dolar rental later, it really isnt worth it unless you have a really good movie watching partner to make fun of it with.

The movie has really grown with us all over the years. The mood has changed from mystical to dramatic. They did a great job transforming the movies. Its almost as if you are seeing the movie through the characters eyes as they age! My only suggestions is if you haven't watched the series make sure you do before you go because you'll be lost. I can't wait until the next release but its bittersweet as it will be the end :(

I feel that this movie stayed true to the book as well as possible in the time allowed. The most important parts were included in the movie but, there are so many important parts that it seems like we really never got in depth with them such as at the ministry of magic and when the snatchers catch them.
One part that was missing from the movie that I was very disappointed in was that Mr. and Mrs. Weasley did not give Harry the watch for his birthday, I feel this is something we will be missing at the end of the second installment when that connection between Harry and them is not there.
I would highly recommend this movie to any Harry Potter fan and I can not wait for the second half to be released in July.

The movie was amazing! It had so much suspense! If you are the fan who grew up with Harry Potter, like myself it is the perfect movie to go watch in theaters! I would recommend it to have been pg-13 because there were some nudity and a lot of bloodshed that young kids would probably not understand.

I wasn't sure what to expect when I found out the last Harry Potter movie was going to be split into two movies. I didn't quite get what would be in the first movie since I didn't really think a whole lot happened in the first half of the book besides them travelling around.
I was amazed that they managed to turn the first half of the book into something funny and exciting. After intense moments there seems to be a lot of humor to lighten the mood, which works because of the characters.
I've heard a lot of people say they didn't like where the movie ended, but I saw it as very predictable and a good spot to end for the next movie to take off from.

Quite dark and very witty. Thorougly impressed with the directing and use of each characters's strengths. The most intelligent of the series of films. I do not recommend bringing small children as it is scary and a little graphic at points. My 4 year old who loves the other movies would have been freaked out and maybe even bored at parts. However, this is WONDERFUL for the older audience. Great use of humor and psychological thrills.

The three brother's story was odd and a bit long. Action scenes were excellent although I think they brushed over the first couple of deaths a bit to unemotionally. Rupert, Daniel, and Emma were spectacular. If you hadn't read the book it was a bit rough to follow well (as it always is). Movie was excellently put together and conveyed the novel particularly well. Absolutely loved it despite the few faults previously mentioned.

Great, great movie. It's one of those movies like Lord of the Rings or Braveheart where the movie is long, but never drags, and by the end, you refuse to believe it was more than an hour and want even more. Thoroughly engrossing plot and I'm glad they decided to split it into two parts, there was enough going on in the last book to do it. Remained true to the spirit of the book and picked a good ending point (don't worry, I'm not saying what it is!). As far as it being my favorite, probably a toss-up between this one and Prisoner of Azkaban, but it was really, really good.

Overall the movie was pretty good. It would have been better if I hadn't read the book b/c then you realize how much was left out/changed. There wasn't enough character and scene building for me so I wasn't as emotionally involved as I was when reading. The upside is this movie definitely makes you excited to watch the next one b/c they're so much more action scenes left to be seen.
