The final chapter of the Harry Potter saga, this movie is by far the best Potter film I have seen so far and I would highly recommend this to everyone! 5/5 stars!

Closely followed book line, but took a few interesting detours. Ended where I had anticipated. Did not expect Dobby to come in early, but was an interesting addition. They did not use poly juice potion change as much as the book, but saw the reason for it. All in all Potter fans will not be disappointed.

Knowing it was just part 1 of the last of the HP 7-part series, a cliffhanger was anticipated, but that won't make the next several months' waiting any easier. HP7 pt. 1 did an amazing job in many aspects: character portrayal; story (including remaining amazingly true to the book, minus a few events left out / de-emphasized); visuals; comic relief (which wasn't just limited to Fred & George Weasley, though those characters still lived up to their expectations); intensity; and realism. Growth in the relationships between Harry, Ron & Hermione are expressed very well, and even the roles of many of the adversaries can be appreciated for who they are.

I wish both parts were put together, it felt incomplete at the end because it was only part 1. But it was also the closest of the harry potter movies to what I had imagined while reading it. I felt like they got all tones right and all the scenes just perfect. It was great!! :) I'm glad I went to see it at midnight too, the crowd was good!

The movie lived up to its potential, it did not let me or my group of friends down! From action to romance and everything in between. The best part is that it does well to stick with the book. All together if you've read the books or simply watched the movies the director and actors make it so it is easy to follow along and not be dissapointed!

This movie followed the book pretty closely. If you have read the book then that is a good thing - however, if you haven't read the book, I don't know how it would be. Many important things are not explained such as the Godrick's Hollow scene. If you didn't read the book, you missed out on a lot of the story's meaning in that scene. However, I LOVED IT!!! I'm going to see it again & again. Can't wait for July 2011!

Although some scenes were a little long and maybe could have been edited out (such as the "dancing scene" in the tent Between Harry & Hermione), the movie was overall another winner! I'm soooo looking forward to Part II!

I thought the new Harry Potter movie was great! It stuck to the book the most out of all the HP movies directed by David Yates. Somethings that were left out from the book made the movie seem a bit impractical, but all together it was great and the actors were great! I would definately recommed this movie to all!

I'm one of those who has never read all of the Harry Potter books by JK Rowling, so I don't have anything to comment on the difference between the book and the movie. I can say though that I'm in love with the story of Harry Potter and this movie was my favorite in the series so far! The effects are fantastic. I can't imagine watching this in IMAX, especially when the snake attacks Harry. Bravo David Yates! Bravo Daniel, Rupert, and Emma! I can't wait to see the finale part II!

Unlike The Half-Blood Prince, there are no huge and unnecessary changes from the book (burning down the Burrow? really? why?). Like the Prisoner of Azkaban it's a beautiful and haunting movie that will appeal to adults as much as children. The stakes have gotten higher, wizards are dying, and the atmosphere is appropriately dark. You see the sacrifices these young people are making to fight evil, the pain and struggle of it, and the strong bonds between them that get stretched but never broken. The acting is strong and the movie is visually stunning. I went with low expectations and left eager for the final episode's release in the summer. Don't miss it Potter fans.

Let me just start by saying...it is not as good as the book. It would be impossible to cram all that detail into 2 1/2 hours, even with the last book being filmed in 2 parts. That said, the movie does a good job capturing the dark foreboding essence of the book. The scenes that are included are well done and faithful to the book. Overall, a good take and I look forward to seeing the movie again, when my niece comes to visit over Thanksgiving!

This movie was definitely worth the wait! The details they were able to add because of the 2 parts were great and kept us clinging on to every word. The performances were outstanding, and the effects and scenery were breathtaking. Generally the plot stayed truer to the book than the last movie, but Harry's internal conflict between hallows and horcruxes, the main theme of the final book, doesn't read in this film. My favorite HP movie still is Prisoner of Azkaban.

We sat down and all of the sudden the movie ended - and we realized that we had not moved for over 2. hours. We still had all the popcorn and candy left because there was not a minute to think about food - just what was on the screen! Minor book discrepancies that happen with any book adaptation - but true to Rowlings... loved it!
