Went with family and friends, ages 14-49. We all enjoyed it and it did not seem like 2.5 hours. We liked the camping bits, even though they weren't the most exciting. It's sad that the saga is almost over.

This movie is based on a book for young readers. So why in the world does it have to have nudity in it?
I would not recommend it to young viewers. Parental guidances a must in my opinion.

I was a bit worried when I heard they were splitting the final book into two parts. I needn't have... While (properly) missing most of the humor in the previous films, DH part 1 keeps the audience rivited from start to finish. The only thing I would remove is the cheesy dance scene that looks ridiculous and forced. That aside, a great effort that has me eager for part 2.

I knew from previews that this movie was going to be good but after seeing it the movie far exceeded my expectations. The plot followed along with the book. And the details were very accurate. It was the best of the series by far! I only wish I could have seen the whole movie instead of just part one!!

My only complain with the past few Harry Potter movies had been that they left out too many things. Although it is going to be horrible waiting for the next one to come out, by splitting it up they were able to include more things from the books. The Deathly Hallows Part 1 is another good example of the movies matureing with the audience. I belive it is the darkest and scariest, for younger kids, movie yet. I believe it stayed true to the book, however I haven't read it in 2 years. The visual effects and action just keep getting better. Very good movie!

Many people say that the pacing was good and there was never a dull moment. However, I'd have to say that some of the times between the action sequences got a little boring. Good thing there weren't many of those moments. I heard the second one was supposed to be the one with all of the action but this one was chock full of it.
Took my 9 year old and he was also bored with those moments too but we loved it none-the-less.
I was surprised with one scene but it wasn't bad. The acting was great and Helena Bohnam Carter as always, steals the scene.

Worst of all the movies, this was just a profit machine for the series. A lot of wasted time, could have done this in 30 minutes. Tough to watch a Brit try and dance. They spent $100 to make this movie. Not geared toward children at all at this point. LOTR should sue for stealing their story. Agony!!

When I first saw that the movie was 2.5 hours, it made me a little nervous wondering how I would sit through it all without a restroom break. However, not to worry, the movie went by so fast I never thought about the break my kidneys needed.
The movie was fantastic as all the HP movies have been. However this movie raised the bar as far as production, pathos and a bit of humor. You can tell that they wanted to present the "kids" as approaching adulthood and being more grownup. It is hard to believe that so many years have passed and all of them are now adults.
Can't wait for the final movie - but with sadness as it will be the last....

This one was too dark and gloomy. I really missed Hogwarts with its color and the collegial atmosphere. I suppose it depends on whether you read the books or not. I did not and did not care that much for the movie. My wife reads them and loved it. Seems to be much the concensus among other reviews I have read. As a stand alone movie it was far behind the other episodes. Can't imagine a little kid liking it.

For this to be the first of the last two movies it was pretty slow. It started great, but in the middle it slowed down and never really picked back up as much as the beginning was. I guess the incline of the last few movies made me expect too much from this film, but all in all it still was a good movie.

Durng the credits it left me wishing there would be "scenes" for the final installment. Can't wait. It was quite true to the book, but there were 2 scenes I would have liked to see in the movie that were not there. Had a completely different feel than the others and I liked that. I'll be sorry when there are no more HP movies to watch.

This was a great movie. A great adaptation of the book. I am not sure it could have been done any better. It is a darker Harry Potter, but so are the books. The actors did a great job!!

it was sooo amazing. i love the books so much and ive always been a little dissapointed by how little the movies follow the books, but for this movie i had few complaints. it was sooooooooooo good! i would totally recommend it to anyone!

This movie was as fantanstic as I expected it to be and then some! The story was excellent, very close to the book but not exact! The actors all did an awesome job and Ron's humor was great! Special effects were really good, as you would expect for a HP movie. Lots to laugh and cry about! Go see it!!!

The movie was awesome! I wouldn't recommend it for kids under 8 cuz of violence and some bloody scenes. Great movie. I am hanging and can't wait until the Part 2 comes out. A MUST SEE!!!

It was good but one of the darkest HP movies by far, its not a kids movie anymore. I would recommend not bringing younger fans to see it. My opinion is that they extended this movie just to make extra money ,(I know.. DUH!) But the middle of the movie, when they spent so much time in the woods? could have been left on the cutting room floor, there was almost no need for most of it and the whole necklace makes you evil??uh anyone see the LOTR(my precious).But overall it was a good watch lots of pluses, I WOULD tell a friend to check it out ,and YES I will see the next one they will get my next $9 ! So in closing GO SEE IT its a fun ride. BUT, be prepared for the darkest HP yet.
