We saw the movie in Los Angeles the night it opened. The theater audience was totally into it - laughing, cheering, clapping - I couldn't even hear myself laugh! In the ladies room after the show everyone was singing, "Mamma Mia! Here I go again, o-o how can I resist you?". A really, really fun movie, full of life. It seemed like the cast had as much fun making the film as the audience had watching it. I can't wait to own the dvd!

Although I was excited when I first heard it was coming out, I was apprehensive about seeing another stage musical brought to the big screen. I was afraid I would be disappointed like I was with Rent. HOWEVER, not in this case. The show was funny, the acting was spot-on, the singing (except Bronson) was beautiful, the scenery was gorgeous, the men were very nice to look at, the show filled in gaps that the stage production left out. I will buy the movie when it comes out, and likely see it a few times more in the theater. GREAT JOB!

I had seen the play twice before, and loved that, but I really enjoyed this movie too. I went with my girlfriends and all of us loved it. Some of them were in thier early 30s and did not grow up with ABBA music, but they all liked it.

I would recommend this movie to anyone that enjoys musicals. Light and whimsey, great music. The only downside is that it dragged a little towards the end-songs too long and actor just stood there making the scene a little awkward. Overall, the acting was great and the plot was cute.

Took my daughter and her friend to see this movie. What a great time. It was fun for me to not only reminisce back to the days of Dancing Queen, but to watch another generation take it on as their own. I did have a problem watching "James Bond" (Pierce Brosnan) singing some of these songs...but got over that quick enough. We had a great time! Can't wait to add it to my own video library.

Had doubts about a musical and boy was I wrong to think twice about seeing this one! The story was good with an unexpected ending. The setting was fantastic.. so beautiful.My husband was willing to check this movie out since it he had heard from other men that they liked it in spite of having doubts before going. We both would recommend it to friends of all ages. Movies like this are few and far between. Reminded us of South Pacific. Can't wait to get the CD to enjoy the music again and again!

Having just seen Mamma Mia on Broadway we were anxious to see the screen adaptation. The adaptation and soundtrack were excellent and the nearly capacity audience at a Saturday early afternoon showing verbally asked for the encore song and clapped at the conclusion. I took my young daughter to see the movie and she loved it !!!!! We have bought the CD and she can sing every song from the movie. Meryl Streep and Amanda Seyfried give Golden Globe performances. The cast had great chemistry. Pierce Brosnan did a great job playing Sam but his singing was scary at first, but it grew on us throughout the film. The supporting cast was also great! This movie is so much fun to see, a true hit of the summer.

I'm so happy to see a quality musical come out of Hollywood -- it's been so long (Mary Poppins, sniff)! Thank you to Rita Wilson and Tom Hanks for bringing this one to us. The plot is plausible (I teared up during 'Winner Takes It All'), script is clever, music excellent (of course), actors awesome! Meryl Streep is in GREAT shape and looks like she did all her own dancing and stunts. Christine Baranski and Julie Walters - fabulous. The guys - yum! You've GOT to stay for all the closing credits . . . trust me.

I loved this movie. Meryl Streep has my nomination for best actress. I usually do not enjoy musicals but the performance of the actors, the singing and dancing was incredible. It was in the most romantic and beautiful location, the Greek islands. The Abba music still lingers in my head. I went with my husband and he loved it too. The movie was light, funny, wonderful music. It had some drama and the romance was sweet and not gross. Great actors and actresses.

I am in agreement with most everyone else! I have not seen the Musical( would love too), so I went into it with nothing to gage it by. I thought it was Awesome!! I knew(and sang) every song except maybe 1!!! I thought that the cast was a hit!! A must see!!

The movie opened a week ago today. I have seen it three times so far. It is one of those rare films where you leave just simply feeling good. Maybe movies will find a renewed audience for musicals instead of all the gore.
