The music, scenery and characters...all so enjoyable. The movie is a true "feel-good" experience. I went with five close friends and we laughed, sang and clapped through the entire show. For almost two hours the worries and stress of everyday life seemed to disappear. I'm so buying the sound track.

Well, short of Chicago, this is the best musical I've seen in a while. Being a child of the 70's, ABBA songs are like sacred chants to all of us devotees. The producers of this movie did not disappoint. I did not see the Broadway show so I am reviewing this movie on it's own merits. It's just two hours of pure fun. The premise is very 70's (rock groupie sleeps around with multiple guys and gets pregnant and does not know which one is the father of her child, child grows up and goes looking for her father, chaos ensues). OK, maybe that's not exclusive to the 70's but we started all that. Now I have watched Meryl and Pierce's careers and seen most all of their movies. This is such a risk for them both and a pleasant departure from anything else they have done. Of course, they bring all that experience to their roles and it shows. Only Pierce Brosnan could pull off this role with no singing ability whatsoever. Just watch him sing S.O.S. with Meryl and you'll see what I mean. And who would have imagined that Meryl could sing and dance? Not bad for such a serious actress. Reminds me of the shock I had when I saw Catherine Zeta-Jones in Chicago. First time I had seen her was in the Mask of Zorro and I fell in love with her. Then she stuns me in Chicago. WOW! Same reaction for Meryl. WOW! Meryl's sidekicks in the movie are hysterical and are the extra, over-the-top bit the movie needed to make it complete. If you just want to smile for two hours and then be humming Dancing Queen for the next two days, I highly suggest you see this movie. It's the most fun I've had at the theater in a long time.

Great mother/daughter or girl's movie! Please don't go if you're looking for a serious musical. If you go with a sense of humor then you'll totally enjoy it! The settings were marvelous, the energy was amazing & the singing was actually better than I expected. The bit as the credits begin is pure fun. Don't miss it. I have seen the stage play 3 different times over the last few years but this movie just added so much depth in the way of scenery and the closeups of the gestures from the sidekicks. Singing and choreography were good and even Pierce Brosnan brought it down to earth with his solo attempt but that is what made it real. Very entertaining and funny throughout!!

I had wanted to see this play but never got a chance, so when the movie came out I had to see it... I loved it, the music was great and Meryl Streep and the rest of the crew delivered very well;)

This movie was awsome. Saw it twice within 3 days and bought the sound track immediately. Don't listen to the critics about Brosnan's singing, it's a musical for cripe's sake. Everyone in this movie was excellent, the music moves you, and the setting is gorgeous. I'm ready to pack my bags and go help out at the inn.

By far the "BEST" movie I have seen in years!!! The singing and dancing made you want to join in. As usual Meryl Streep was beyond excellent. Great cast, love Christine Baranski, she's be gone too long from film. The energy and soft romantic's were amazing. I went with my 25 year old daughter and she had a terrific time too. The Greek islands were breathtaking, as was all of the scenery. The movie hadn't ended when the audience bust into wild applause. But, by far was the great ending dancing and singing. We laughed ourselves silly, thanks to the cast for a movie that will last for generations to come!!!!

I loved this movie! I have seen the musical four times, so I know every word. My only annoyances were when they didn't use a line from the play or when they skipped a part, so that some people might not understand why Harry kept saying he was spontaneous. The setting was gorgeous, the dance numbers so much fun and the singing was wonderful, with the exception of Pierce Brosnan, but when you look like that, who cares if you can sing. I know I will see this over and over again. If you want something fun that will have you smiling from start to finish, this is the movie for you.

I LOVED this movie! I have only seen it twice and I can sing along to almost any song. I have to say that the best song to me is "Lay All Your Love on me" with Sky and Sophie. I think it is a completely hilariously movie that will have you laughing the whole time! I would definitely see it 4 more times!!!

Movie musicals are a difficult genre to bring to life, first of all. Taking all the stage actions and turning them into something bigger, more visible, and more "real" is hard. The singing of the older actors, particularly Brosnan and Streep, was not Broadway worthy but worked in the contexts of this movie. Brosnan seemed to struggle with the "singing" on screen, but Meryl Streep did a wonderful job of emoting the songs, being pained, loving, being loved, being angry, etc. The younger actors were definitely more prepared and probably more experience in musicals but it didn't necessarily give them an edge acting wise, but vocally there was a major difference. The goal of this movie is to tell a story through song, and it did it wonderfully. I would not, however, buy the soundtrack. I would see the stage production or buy the original cast recording after seeing this movie. So, not a huge loss! P.S. I actually loved this movie. LoL. Personal is 5/5.

Great for a mother-daughter date. I took my mom and we loved it! you cannot be unhappy watching this movie. It lifts your spirits. You want to get up and sing along in the theater. Who would have thought that you could put Abba songs together and make a believable plot for a show? This movie is fun - start to finish! Yes, some call it a chick-flick, but honestly, you guys will like it too if you go for laughs and you want your date coming out with a smile on her face. Even if you're not familiar with Abba songs, you'll have a great time.

I came to the movie expecting a boring romance movie, considering the summery of the movie sounded pretty boring! But, wow! This chic was wrong! I wanted to get up and dance in the isles, but unfortunatly, there were people behind me who would've had a fit. Nobody in the audince would stop laughing, and at the end when the mom was like, "You want some more?" Everybody shouted "YES!" And when the movie was over, everybody clapped and cheered! Best movie of the summer!

I've seen the Broadway show twice and couldn't wait for the movie. Wasn't sure the movie could compare to the show, but it was amazing! I saw it on opening day with my mother, then emailed all my friends recommending it. I took my grown daughters and sons' girlfriends last night and we had a fabulous time. The scenery, costumes, music, etc. is wonderful and you won't be let down. Everyone in the theater (both times) has laughed, tapped feet and sighed throughout the movie. You won't be disappointed. I recommend you to go and see this movie. I have been a fan of ABBA all my life(I orginally come from Sweden) and I am very happy to see this movie. The casting is terrific and there are a lot of details that I enjoyed. The actors are great, Meryl Streep, Amanda Seyfield, Stellan Skarsgård, Pierce Brosnan. It was also nice the get a glimpse of Björn & Benny.

The scenery is spectacular, Amanda Seyfried is refreshing and adorable as Sophie and although Meryl Streep comes off as a little old for this role - she has won you over by the time she sings "Slipping Through My Fingers" and "The Winner Takes It All". My five year old daughter and I equally enjoyed the singing and dancing - and, make sure you stay until the credits roll - it's a real hoot!!

Fantastic - be prepared to laugh for most of the movie. Stay until the very end the credits are a hoot! I love how the actors showed what they are good at and what they are not good at a very natural portrayal. Most of us can't really carry a fabulous tune so it was appreciated to see that in this movie they did not dub the voices. Fast moving, entertaining highly recommend this movie. Enjoy

I haven't been to the movies since Charlotte Web , I took my Mom and we loved this. The scenery is beautiful. You find yourself singing and tapping your feet.. Never knew M. Streep could sing .. If you want to get away from the world and feel good .. Go see this.. Its for all ages.But the people over 40 will relieve there teenage years . I did.. We are going to see it again.......
