Overall, it was an ok movie I gave it a solid C+, I lauged, I was amazed, and I even felt a little sad at one point. However, I thought that Steven and George tried to hard to make this movie work. What really made me upset was the fact that some of it was too incredible even for an "Indy" movie, i.e. when he climbs into a refrigerator (lead lined) to survive a nuclear bomb test at "secret Nevada military instillation" and gets thrown clear out of the house, a good few miles away from the blast, and rolls out of it almost completely unscathed even I said to myself...." are you kidding?!". For me, what made the Indy movies so great was that yes, they were incredible but they had that little bit of reality thrown in there to make you believe that this could happen to any Tom Dick or Harry in the world. But I didn't feel it with this one, you definately felt George Lucas' touch on this , and I think that overall, it did not live up to it's hype and could have been a lot better.

If you are a Indiana Jones fan, you HAVE to see it. Acting, directing, effects were great, Spielberg, Lucas and Ford are great together. Some people might not like the ending, but I did. Don't let anybody tell you anything, you have to see it to be able to talk about it. Good luck and if you are not a fan but want a have a good time, this is the movie for you. Cate Blanchet is also really good in this movie..

--hilarious, fun, creative, scary, and full of surprises! There will be people complaining about the plot because it is so different than the usual Indy formula, but it was such an imaginative and entertaining script. Spielberg again demonstrates his genius by putting a refreshing spin on the material. The ending was fantastic. You never know where the movie is going, which adds to the mystery. Also---The movie beautifully connects with the first one and brings the series to a very satisfying conclusion. Much better than THE LAST CRUSADE, and on the same level as TEMPLE OF DOOM. Of course, nothing will ever come close to RAIDERS, but everyone knows that.

I think they did a great job with this movie! Loved the character interaction & the throw-backs to the previous three movies. The story was good. The only thing I didn't particularly care for was the way they seemed to go for an "old school" feel but with the new technology. It's like they wanted it to have the same visual as the original movies, and that didn't work in my opinion. I look forward to seeing this a few more times before I can buy the DVD!

I'm an older viewer (52 years old) and went to the 12:01am viewing. I was very disappointed in this movie. I am a huge fan of the Indiana movies and I didn't buy the whole flying saucer/alien thing. I didn't buy the whole reason why she never told Indy about HJIII, it just wasn't plausible. I love movies I, II, and III because they were believable even though you knew the situations were impossible. I didn't believe this one.................should have waited for it to come to cable.

Great movie with plenty of memories from the first three cleverly put into place. Went with a friend who hadn't seen the first three (insane, I know), but they thoroughly enjoyed it as well. Nice job Speilberg and Lucas!

I'll admit that I was pretty stressed out about this one. There was just too great an opportunity for old George and Steve to screw this one up. I am very pleased to say that it was good! Nostalgic for the series, mantained continuity in live action and stunts, kept a good sense of humor... Well, done old guys. I would have been very disappointed if it had sucked, but I think most Jones fans would agree. This was a good film. I noticed younger people complaining outside the theatre, which I get because the trilogy was really before their time and therefore might not really get the attraction and association with the previous installments. Also, these younger adult viewers probably hold 2 hour GM commercials by Michael Bay in much higher esteem. So, dont listen to what anyone 18-25 has to say. Children on the other hand should love it, get ready to buy merch parents.

I saw this feature last night at midnight and wow it was great to see Indy Back. I am an older Female who has always had a crush on Indy and now he is even better. The movie story really brought lots of great memories back and opened up doors to a new era of Indiana Jones movies..... I thought the action was great and seeing Cate Blanchett back. The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel gave the movie 2 1/2 stars but I give it at least 3 1/2 stars. It was funny, fun and exciting as with the other three movies... And the ending was great... Indy is back and I hope he stays around.......

i just went and saw indiana jones on opening day and took 3 of my 4 kids to see it. they LOVED it. it is your typical indiana jones movie but very clean for children and families. there was maybe 2 curse words? i was very impressed with it and would recommend it. the movie is 2 hours maybe just a few mins longer so be prepared to sit for a good while. there was a fighting scene that seemed to just go on and on but after the movie that was one of my kids favorite parts although i was like be done already. so overall i give it 5 stars and hope the movies continue.

The movie was entertaining and appropriate for the whole family. There were some corny parts, but overall it was fun. Shia LeBeouf was a nice addition and his scenes were humorous. The villains were Stalin followers in this episode instead of Hitler, which didn't make a difference anyway. Definitely worth seeing, but diehard Indy fans may be disappointed.

Well, it's not Indiana Jones of old, but how can you be when you are 20 years older and in a new era - the 50's. But it's the next best thing. Indy is still Indy - fedora and all - and the style of the film matches the others. The storyline is a bit of a departure and it does take a minute to get used to it, but once the whip-crackin' thrills and off beat humorous comments grab hold you are back in the world of Indy. Grab some popcorn and smile.

This was my 1st Indy big screen adventure since Radiers. I took my 11 yr old to Crystal Skull and we had a great time. If you go in knowing that its fiction with a lot of over the top action you'll love it. I hope we get a few more in the years to come.

It is simply incomparable to the raiders/crusade, although I found it more enjoyable than temple of doom. The movie was packed with useless scenes that didn't add up to the plot. The movie did have some nice action scenes, and despite a couple of things, it was a good movie until the end. Then it comes the surprising finale and it was pretty bad.

George Lucas and Steven Speilberg definetly go back to thier fantasy roots on this one. I am a lover of all things Indy, even the tired attempt of Temple, so this was a HUGE deal for me. Our favorite fedora clad archeologist is doing field work once more. While Crystal Skull brought back the snappy one liners, interesting new characters, and chase scenes galore, I was missing the human element. The kind of action where you think, for a moment, Indy might plummet off a cliff into the raging water below instead of into a CGI pool of imagination. Understanding that Harrison, and for that matter Indy are older, I know why they sacraficed stunt men for computer graphics, but wasn't that the key to Raiders?The comic relief that comes from knowing a monolithic german is going to catch a chopper blade is missing here in Crystal, where the action is speedy but a blue screen blur. Yet, isn't there some greatness to that hat wearing shadow entering the scene? For camp alone, this is a must see. If you call yourself a film fan or movie buff you should have seen it already. Here's hoping to a more earth bound adventure for our next Indy Adventure!

Harrison stayed in good shape over the years and moves very well in the movie. I mean come on people, its been 20 years ! I saw it at midnight and got a litte sleepy on a couple parts. The fourth movie was directed very well with the actors playing their parts with utter pride and perfection. The only problem it seems is the ending. The movie was going in the right direction. The plot had jokes, sarcasm, adventure, excitement and the perfect amount of sass that everyone expects for an Indy movie. The ending is the only problem. "Indiana Jones" the fourth installment of an epic journey of one man named Indy has finally arrived. Packed full of nonstop action and excitement, it keeps you on the edge of your seat. "Kingdom of the Crystal Skull," brings back many characters and introduces new ones. Which include Cate Blanchett as a Russian Agent Irina Spalko and Shia LaBeouf as Mutt Williams. Also bringing back one of Indiana's ladies Karen Allen to reprieve the character of Marion Ravenwood. While past stories of Indiana Jones have mostly surrounded christian artifacts, writers David Koepp and George Lucas don't seem to have a problem with creating a new story to fit with the new generation of sci-fi adventures. It was definitely nice to see Indiana Jones away from Europe and in a new territory of excitement. Along with keeping the same theme of music of the past, Director Steven Spielberg did not fail to keep the comedy of Indiana and his sidekicks alive. If one likes the combination of history, action, sci-fi and comedy all mixed together this is one film that must be seen. This critic gives this movie 4 out of 5 stars.

After viewing this movie I am pleased to say that I really did like it. There were some points in the plot that were kind of far fetched(but I guess that is Indiana Jones for you) and the begining felt kinda slow. I still loved this movie and would reccomend it to anyonw who is an Indiana fan.

You just keep waiting for it to get good and it never does. You are constantly being reminded by Indiana Jones how he's not as young as he used to be. There are a couple scenes that are too unbelievable, even for an Indiana Jones movie. Even though I wouldn't see it again; If you are even remotely interested in Indiana Jones, you owe it too yourself to see this. If you've never seen the first three, then you're not missing out on anything by skipping this one.

It was an Indy movie with the same characters and routines from before tied to the modern idea of getting a movie out the door on a lame script. Is it good? - Yes! Is it great? NO! Other then the rough story line, action shots and special effects there wasn't a strong story line or that much dialog. I know that the characters have aged some but does that mean that they can't carry on a conversation or two?

First off, I am a HUGE Indy fan. This is a fun movie and it's great to see Harrison Ford back in the Indy garb. I must be honest, though, and say that I am a little disappointed overall. Don't get me wrong - I enjoyed it, but I was expecting more of a serious and believable movie. It seemed that there was a lot of humor throughout and it just got to be too much. Although this latest installment doesn't quite measure up to Raiders or Last Crusade, it is definitely worth it to see.

This was a really good movie, despite the fact that it has been so long since the last one came out. It wasn't realistic, but it's Indiana Jones- you go because it's supposed to be fun. Harrison Ford was both funny and tough despite his age, Shia was also really funny. If you liked the other movies, go see this one.

The movie's first reel was excellent, but then Lucas abandoned all pretense of story for a long and increasingly absurd chase sceen. "Jumped the Shark Tank" is the phrase that came to mind. This was the same problem we saw with Star Wars 1-3: Lucas seems so preoccupied with action sequences he forgets that character development is what makes a movie more than movie and become an enduring part of our culture. Shia and Harrison were excellent together, but they never had a chance to do the bonding and emotional development we saw with Indy and his dad in Crusade. The Soviets were even flatter villians than the Germans, and there was a certain historical irony of a Russian An-2 painted in PanAm colors being used as Indy's airplane. IMHO it finishes ahead of 2, but behind 1 & 3.

(34y/o) I am embarrassed to even talk about amongst friends. This was a highly anticipated film for me since growing up and having extremly fawn memories of the past three films. I gave this film two thumbs down... I can't believe this is how the creators wish to leave the Indiana Jones film legacies. The film shares very similar elements as in the past films which makes the Jones films predictable but great. (I dig that punching sound effect...LOL! same as in all 4.. classic!) ie, car chases, fight scenes, dodging dangerous situations,etc.etc... The story line is intriguing and could have been adapted, IMO, 100% better. The first few minutes definately had me going and realy gave me a great since of establishing a time and era. Shortly after, I began loosing interests and was calling out the next scene. (way to predicatble). What I can not figure out for the life of me is why they chose to push Shai Leboeuf character. "Greaser"/Rebel (The Wild One) turn Errol Flynn turn Tarzan was a total joke IMO. I would definately NOT watch another film in the Jones saga featuring Shai Leboeuf. What's done is done and I am EXTEREMLY DISAPPOINTED! This will not change my views of the past three films which I will cherish forever. I just whish there were a way to sweep this film under the rug somehow.... Sincerely Sad, JEM MotorSports ;.(
