not the best movie ever....and it didnt really feel like an indiana jones movie. i'd say go see it for yourself tho. maybe i'm getting too old for some of the over the top stuff in the film.

My family and I agree- the movie was, as they say out west, "all hat and no cattle." We are avid IJ fans - we even liked Temple of Doom, including Kate Capshaw's performance (funny), but KoCS was a mess. The film begins with some pretty bad voiceover work by Harrison Ford - listen carefully, and you'll here the tenor of his voice change from sentence to sentence. The editing is slipshod, and the scenes are jumpy. The action sequences are not very creative - two jeeps through the jungle...a Duck falling down three waterfalls...a disappearing staircase that does no more than give Jones' party a little bath...SNORE! And poor Karen Allen - was the sum of Spielberg's directions, "Grin, Karen, grin!?" She was a wonderful anatgonist in Raiders - feisty, combative, and a clear match for Indy- but in this movie she is just along for the ride. A few scenes conjure up the old thrills of the series - the motorcycle chase is pretty good - but the whole film suffers from inflation - ego inflation, plot inflation, FX inflation - without any character inflation. The ending is warm and happy - the best part of the movie- but the rest is a sad conclusion to a great series of films. Thanks for the memories anyway, Indy.

This movie was pretty weak. I grew up on the first 3. It was better than the Temple of Doom. This movie ranks third in the series. They should not have brought Marion back. She acted horribly. Absolutely no surprises. I figured out who Shilo was before he spoke a word. At least they explained the puzzle mystery with extra terestrial powers this time. I'm sick of seeing movie with traps and gadgets that we couldn't do today let alone hudreds or thousands of years ago. National Treasure for instance. Stone locks that still work?

The first half of the movie was great, the action sequences with Harrison Ford and Shia LaBeouf had me thinking this was going to be as good as the Last Crusade. Unfortunatly, the second half of the movie had less to do with a good storyline and more to do with computer generated special effects. I was hoping Steven Spielberg would use real actors chasing Indiana around instead of using all the computer generated, totally unbelievable, special effects. I felt the movie lost the feeling of plausability that makes Indiana Jones such a great hero. Overall the movie is worth seeing but just above average.

I agree with what others have written. I pretty much liked it, but the psychic things and martian stuff is a little much. I don't mind if all of this was archaeologically accurate, but this went into sci-fi stuff that was far-fetched and weird! It didn't seem at all real. The special effects were cool, though. Overall, I enjoyed everything but the martian stuff. Also, the magnetism of the stuff was selective. Weird, but good.

This movie was simply excellent. I do not agree that the plot was bad, I do not agree that the characters were underdeveloped, and I do not agree that the first 3 Indiana Jones movies were better than this one. This movie was simply amazing. It was intriguing and kept you on the edge of your seat to the very end. It also has some amazing plot twists. I reccomend this movie to ANYONE who reads this review.

I liked this one. It has been a really long time since I saw any of the originals but this one was pretty good. There were a few points that made me groan a little, like at one point Harrison Ford says, "I got a bad feeling about this!" and he says it exactly the smae way he did in Star Wars, me and my friend were like tisk tisk George Lucas. But I still enjoyed it and would recomend it.

I loved this IJ movie. But, I would have liked almost anything they did because I was a huge fan as a kid. The plot was a total surprise but in keeping with the elements of the other three films. It had a good amount of action in it and I hope they make more with Shia LaBeouf starring.

Overall it was good to be back with Indy. However, I think Lucas and Speilberg missed an opportunity to make another really good if not remarkable sequel. The action sequences are spectacular and flawless and are the saving grace of the film. Otherwise, aside from I J, character development was lacking and very often became cliché. I was also displeased with the negative depiction of the FBI agents in the film. Overall it had no relevancy to the plot and seemed to present an unnecessary sinister portrayal of a US government agency possibly only serving the movie principal's political agenda.

Though it had it's moments, I found the film to be -- overall -- disappointing. The script was sloppy, the whole alien angle was trite (can't believe I'm saying this about a Lucas/Spielberg collaboration... but add snow and the final alien liftoff was right out of the X-Files movie) and there were too many times when the action jumped from one shot to another and I felt like something had been cut out. (Likely there was -- and I'm sufficiently knowledgeable about the filmmaking process to know how movies are edited and that not every scene makes it into the final cut -- but there were 3 or 4 times that I found myself wondering how the characters suddenly arrived at their new location.) HF proves what a great action star he is, it was great to see Karen Allen again, Shia LaBeouf may be a worthy successor and Cate Blanchett was fun, but Ray Winstone (one of my favorite Brit actors -- loved him in Sexy Beast) was wasted. Can't believe that after all this time this is the best that George and Steve could come up with. Best part of the evening (for me and much of the audience, which erupted in spontaneous applause at the end): the trailer for The Dark Knight...

My wife and I saw this together. She's a Harrison Ford fan and I liked every installment of the Indiana Jones series. We both got what we wanted. The action was vintage Indy stuff. And it was great seeing the old guy be a few steps slower but still do his thing.

I'm a big fan of the whole Indiana Jones stories, but this one was just plain awful!
Indiana Jones meets E.T. in Close Encounters of the Third Kind. That about sums it up.
There were some good moments, and it was good to see Marion Ravenwood back in the action. It would have been nice for a cameo with Short Round as well, but it didn't happen.
Save your money on this one and wait for the DVD.

Over all I thought this movie was the perfect end for the Indy series. Some parts of it were far fetched but even that was okay, as long as you go to see the movie with the knowledge that it is in fact just a movie and does not need to be realistic. I loved this movie and it kept my interest from beginning to end. The special effects are amazing and even though the characters did not have a lot of depth, they were perfect for this kind of movie. Loved it! It was very uplifting.

If you are a fan of Indiana Jones, you will find this movie really enjoyable. Dr. Jones returns to the big screen in all his glory. Don't try to compare him to National Teasure or Mummy. This is a definate must see. Once you hear John Williams Raiders March and Harrison puts on his famed fedora sit back and enjoy the ride that only Lucas and Spielburg can provide.

I think this movie really sucks.... cuz i found out it is no more than a combination of the Mummies, the Fifth Element and National Treasure... a lot of scenes are similar to those three... especailly that crystal skull... its design looks wired also... i was almost a time watcher in that 2 hours... Harrison Ford is going down... his movies in recent years like Firewall and this one... both suck...

Overall I'd say it was fun, enjoyable, and even "good". I have a hard time mixing Indiana Jones with extra-terrestrial concepts because although both are ficitional I always had Indy on a different end of the spectrum. The stunts were fun, the directing was solid, and Shia LeBouff will be a solid successor. I would recommend this to past fans, but would let them know there is some serious "cheese" involved. But it its fun cheese nonetheless.

Overall I found the movie very funny, action packed, and adventurous like the other Indiana Jones films. I thought the acting was good and "in character". I loved the previous three films and genuinely liked this film. I know some Indy purists had issues with the plot and that it was too "out-there" but I liked it. During the cold war the Russians actually were looking for physic warfare weapons, and I have always found the Nazca Indian and Nazca lines fascinating as well. I thought they did a good job with the fact that Indie was older and had not only gone through his earlier adventures but was a part of world war II. We have to remember that this movie takes place 15 - 20 years after the original movies so Indie is suppose to be older, slower, and a little rusty. Like the swinging whip scene in the beginning or the sand pit scene. There were some cheesy scenes, but the old films had cheesy scenes as well. Like what happens when they open the arc of the covenant or the scene where Indie and co. falls out of a plane in a raft down a mountain and survives. Also, the computer stuff doesn't bother me. That's modern day cinema. All in all I found this film very entertaining and thought provoking. Just like I found the original three films. I loved at and recommend it to anybody. Just keep an open mind.

I thought it fit well with the other Indiana Jones movies. The plot may have seemed too simple to some, but it was very entertaining. I would highly recommend it to others.
