I hate to say it, but the film is disappointing. While it presents more intelligence than the Temple of Doom, it lacks the dignity of Raiders of the Lost Ark and The Last Crusade. The plot is trite and simple, action sequences are implausible, and supposedly dramatic moments are laughable. An interesting premise surrounding the Crystal Skull is never explored and ideas are reduced to the lowest common denominator. The resulting script is mediocre at best, utterly ridiculous at worst.

First off, Cate Blanchett is a total hottie. This is a great, great role for her. She chews the scenery like there's no tomorrow. As for the rest of the movie, it starts with a bang, keeps the pace up for a good long while, and gets quite silly at the end. About what I would expect for the summer's first Bombast-o-tainment. I had a blast, even though the plot made zero sense etc.

This is absolutely a great film! Indy's a little older, a little slower, but just as heroic as ever; it's great to see him reunited with Marion Ravenwood (there's a perfect couple if ever there was one), and the character of Mutt Williams is not only a great addition to the mythos but has lots of potential for a series of his own! Nice tributes to Indy's dad and Marcus Brody, plus several neat tips of the fedora to both the original "Raiders of the Lost Ark" and to the "Young Indy" TV series make this latest escapade all the more enjoyable. I suppose I really should not have been all that surprised by the reactions of some movie critics who have given less than stellar reviews for the movie; I'm convinced that those critics who feel otherwise wouldn't know a good movie if it reared up and bit them in the tuckuss! From where I sit, the problem some critics seem to have with the latest Indy adventure is the same problem some of them had with the "Star Wars" films, as well as more recent films like last year’s "Mr. Magorium's Wonder Emporium" or the current release "Speed Racer." Movies such as these invite the filmgoer to kick back, forget about the problems of the real world for a couple of hours and just have themselves a good time. And what self-important vainglorious critic of the arts is going to sit still for that? As for Indy's latest adventure - it's definitely worth the wait and the price of admission!

Not as exciting as Indiana Jones when I was a kid, kind of predictable some parts, but at least what you would expect, great action scenes, decent special effects, though you would expect that from any Lucas Film. This movie was okay, but not great. Although there were plenty of action scenes, they weren't original. Remember the swordsman twirling his sword and I.J. just shooting him? Remember when I.J. and his father were tied up back to back in a burning room? There wasn't as much creativity in this one. Also, the plot wasn't as clear cut as the others and it seemed like the producers couldn't decide what kind of plot they wanted. Okay but wait for the dvd.

Overall I liked the movie. It was non-stop action from start to finish which is what entertainment is about. I had a couple of problems with the movie, however. I thought it had a bit too much in the studio set action. It also made some leaps in faith on how he gets from one point to the next. Last, he seemed to figure things out a little too easy unlike some of the other movies where he had to work at it to find the clue. I would recommend the movie to friends, especially one with kids.

We are fans of Indi, but this was a let down. Special effects were awesome, but story was a hapless excuse for lack of a real solid plot. When you can't explain something, why not turn to ET? Save your money, and rent it at home. Not worth the trip to the theater.

I love Indiana Jones. The problem I had with this movie is that it was geared to very young people. The action scenes were too long and predictable. I almost fell asleep at certain points. The "Close Encounters..." ending felt like a desperation ending. I thought Harrison Ford was really good and Blanchett was a little too over the top. John Hurt's talent was really wasted in this movie. My 6 year old glrandson will love it!!

This movie was a pretty good entertainment for a Friday night. I loved the other Indiana Jones films. But I'm afraid that they made this one too late. I really missed the old young indy. But this was a cute nostalgia piece. I liked the stunts and specifal effects. I also liked Shia Labeof (sp). The story was OK. But the sci-fi element was a bit out of character. The ending was cute. (But I'm a sucker for a good sappy ending anyway) So, while it didn't quite live up to its predecessors, the Crystal Skull was OK. I'd recommend seeing it.

I was deeply dissapointed in the movie's plot. Loved to see Harrison Ford back as Indy, you still have it! Liked his son and wife, too. Great set up to continue series with Shia LB. I was not disappointed in this segment at all. I felt it was true to the series. I had doubts initially, considering Harrison Ford's age, but like Sean Connery, he just keeps getting better. I thought it had a good mix of action and humor, enjoyed the references to the previous segments and characters and really enjoyed how it tied together characters from Raiders and other installments. I would recommend it to anyone who likes action-adventure films, and especially recommend it to Indiana Jones fans.

Where someone would rate this a 4 out of 5 star movies must have been in a totally diffrent movie theater. This was worse than the second Indy movie. The action was beige at best. After the first "close call" I thought it was weak and predictable and the stunts that followed were just as bad. You really can tell Ford is Model A. The story line is as shallow as Obama's campaing promise of change. You don't know where it's coming from and you don't know where it really wants to go. As the movie progressed it made less sense than when it began. They used the "key" to unlock a door, but the "key" should not have worked because it was an essential part of something else inside the chamber they were going too...I won't give it up for those who're delusional to see a good movie, but you'll see. After seeing this miserable excuse for a movie, I was tempted to see Iron Man for a second time just so I wouldn't feel ripped off by paying what I did. If I could have rated this movie a half-star I would have...like giving a penny to a food server for bad service...horrible. In summary the movie is predicatable, shallow and boring. Nothing like the first or third.

My family enjoyed this movie. Some people are saying how disappointed it was but you have to remember, this movie was sent in the late 1950's and the elements touched on were during that time. The action was great, story line "wierd" but understandable(remember the 1950's theme) and I loved the ending...the hat.... I do not recommend young children, a couple of scenes were scary. Go and see it and have some fun..a great popcorn movie!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We thought that overall the movie was good but we were disappointed in the inacuracies in the movie. The locations noted in Peru are not close to each other and cheapened the theme of the movie for us. Overall, it was good that they poked fun at Indiana Jone's age. The Amazon "bugs" bothered my wife and daughter. The sequencing in the jungle scene was not believable. If you suspend your believe and don't analyze the movie, you will enjoy it.

Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull was ultimately disappointing. After seeing it, all I could think of was how good of a movie Raiders of the Lost Ark was, and how this movie was trying to be that (without much success).. I love the old Indiana Jones and this one was OK. Not quite sure I would recommend seeing it in the theatre, but definitely a good rental.

This ranks as number two in order of my favorite Indy movies. Raiders is the obvious number one. There were some great special effects and Harrison Ford did a great job of reprising his role. The 50's throw backs were fun, and the graveyard scene was downright spooky (I fact, I wish there were more scenes like that one). Only 3 complaints: 1) there were a few stunts where the double didn't look like, act like, or move like Ford; 2) thought the villianees deserved a more Raiders-like demise; 3) the "magnitism thing" seemed inconsistant and not well thought out. I want to stress that despite the above, I enjoyed the movie and would recommend it to friends and family.

Although I was skeptical in the beginning when it took place in the 1950's, it was still a great movie. It did not have the same ambiance as the older settings, but still good. The science fiction aspect did not help to keep in with the older versions. Some scenes were a bit far-fetched, such as the fighting on the moving vehicles, but, then again, it is Hollywood. Overall the story was very good and the action was very good and I liked the way the relationships were portrayed and the ending. I will definitely add it to our collection when it comes out on DVD.

This was a great film. It has been way over due for a new one but it came out at a great time. I have a 8 year son and I got to enjoy one of my all time favorite movies with my son and it was awesome that he is so into all four Indiana Jones movies as much as me. I feel like one of the coolest moms ever to be able to take my son to see movies that I enjoy as well!!!

I could not wait for this movie to make it to the theaters and I was not disappointed with the experience. Great movie, great special effects, great identity with the Indiana Jones franchise. Sean Connery should have made an in person cameo appearance since other characters from earlier Indiana Jones movies showed up but not a big minus. If you like Indiana Jones, you have to see this movie.

What couldn't be greater than continuing the adventure with Indiana Jones??? Harrison Ford is clever and seeing him once again as Indiana was fun and adventerous. A great fun family movie that can be appreciated by any age group!
