After enjoying the first 3 Indiana Jones films as a teen and young adult, it was great to see this movie with my son. It was action packed and I loved how they tied all the other movies in. Harrison Ford still is a great Indiana Jones, Cate Blanchett makes a great villian and I liked how Karen Allen returned after all those years.. If you love the other movies in this series, you will enjoy this movie. Way to go Indy!!

A fun and satisfying sequel to first Jones movie (they could have left out the middle 2 films). The only disappointment is Kate Blanchett who was totally one dimensional and robotic, without interest, not typical of her work at all. One doesn't have to play a villain like a cartoon, even within a far-fetched plot. (I.e., Toby Stephens' villain in "Die Another Day" ). Everyone else in the film is charming and bringing Karen Allen back for this was lovely.

Really like it. The action was great and fit with the series. It was sometime difficult to flow what was happening. A lot of complicated exposition going on at time. Ford was excellent, Kate Blanchett also very good. The subplot of Karen Allen and the son that Indy never knew he had was not needed to make this work. Still a fun way to pass two hours.

There are definitely many moments in this film that make you aware you are watching an Indiana Jones movie. Switching the setting to a more modern timeframe also made for some nicely skewed juxtapostions. Seeing the famous Indy sillhouette against a mushroom cloud was pretty cool. Unfortunately, this story needed more of a....story. The crystal skulls are a fitting plot device for Indy - they don't have quite the same punch as the Lost Ark or the Holy Grail but they are at least the equal of the Shankara Stones. They script just needed to do more with the skull than turn it into a shiny magnet that works like a compass. Same goes for some of the other characters in the movie: Mack, Oxley, and Marion are all not underused - they are just not used appropriately. Remember Raiders? Toht was not on screen very much, but was very effectively used when he did appear. Shia does a good job, though. He takes his role seriously and does stand toe to to with Harrison Ford. So, while there were some very great moments in the film, Indiana Jones 4 failed to measure up to the first three. This movie is lot of fun if you don't think about it too hard, but it is doesn't have the style to make it a film to remember.

Was great movie, but I am amazed how much CGI was used in the film. Felt not real at times to me. Action packed and great story. Nice to see the actors and their humor. Great new actors too. I think we have completed this run on Indiana Jones with Harrison Ford. Great 50's era of cars. But the kids in the soda shop had no idea how to act as a kid in the 50's they have been exposed to too much. We werent. The innocense wasnt there. Like I said I think MOST of it was CGI and people werent talking to each other as actors at time but CGI'd in later. But good movie.

Great stunts and action, but thoroughly disappointing plot and storyline. I was looking for something more believeable with an accurate historical basis as in what we've come to expect from previous Indiana Jones' movies. This was complete (and unbelievable) science fiction! Entertaining because of the action and seeing Indiana Jones character again, but science fiction.

I felt that this was a truly classic Indiana Jones movie. While it homaged 1950s Sci Fi films instead of the 1920s/30s adventure films of the previous ones in the series, it worked. Definitely a fun ride.

It's hard for this to be a bad movie, with Spielberg and Ford. Kingdom of the Crystal Skull had all the right components of excitement and characterization. Shia LaBeouf did a wonderful job as Mutt and we are looking forward to seeing him follow in his 'father's' footsteps. The only negative and it is minor is a bit of predictability, but that was easily overcome by the positives. Good job to all!

The storyline was pretty lame and venturing into the scifi arena was disappointing. However, the action was good, there were some fun moments and even the kids enjoyed it. If you're an Indy fan it was a nice way to catch up with the characters and resolve what happens to Indy. Fun but fluffy.

We enjoyed this movie from start to finish. The special effects were amazing and the story was well-written. We brought our two children (ages 4 and 7) to the movie as well, and it kept their attention through the movie's entirety. It was scary in a few parts, especially for the 4-year-old. Overall, though, we were thoroughly entertained.

ij4 is a lot of fun and satisfies the urge for another episode. as one reviewer already said, if you are a boomer, it will more enjoyable, i think. some of the things that we love about the series may seem dated by today's standards. (more on that later.) on the down side, a couple of the fisticuff scenes went about 30 seconds too long; karen allen, god love her, has lost that spunkiness we adored; while i love (LOVE) cate b., i think her role was a little beneath her (not really knocking hf or the movie, but, please, if have you had seen her in "i'm not there" you would know what i mean). lots of plusses tho! great, great chase scenes! impossible feats performed! death defying acts of bravery! for the boys at heart, lots of gooey, ickey scenes with bugs! and, of course, the old codger, harry ford himself. enter the surprise: shia lebeouf. this guy appears to be being groomed to take over the role, and if anyone can, he can. he proves it over and over again. he's got his own quirks distinct from hf and they work just as well. (for instance, when he's nervous, he combs his hair.) the one thing that bothers me is that the series, while groundbreaking in the 80's (my wife and I saw ij1 when it was a sneak preview), has been eclipsed by the current offering of action movies. spielberg has been a part of the evolution into the new mold, but he seemed to have chosen not to fold this series into the modern version of the genre. well, then again, maybe that isn't just a bad thing...

I thought this movie was okay. Not as good as some of the previous Indiana Jones movies, but not extremely boring either. The producers tried to make this one a little bit more serious, so if you are looking for the slapstick humor you will be a little disappointed. If you want my suggestion, go into it with an open mind and try NOT to compare it to the other Indy movies. My favorite Indy movie is still the Last Crusade.

I've been an Indy fan from day one and always hoped he'd have the good sense to find his way back to the fiesty Marion Ravenwood. My wish has been granted!
This film is a worthy addition to Indiana Jones legacy. Great action. A wacky story line with a out of this world ending. Lots of Indy quips, quirks, twists and turns.
There are few moments when I did feel a bit lost; but, hey, this is an adventure.
Harrison Ford continues to deliver the charm and crassness that makes the character so lovable. Karen Allen has not lost the edge she brought to the first film. Shia La whatshisname... please tell me he's not going to take over where Harrison Ford left off!
As for Cate Blanchett, other critics have blasted her for her Rooshian accent. I thoroughly enjoyed her performance. Yep, the accent is a little Saturday morning cartoonish, but, come on people, this is a cartoon! Get over it!

A friend of mine beat me to the punch of seeing this movie and he likened it to the Phantom Menace. There were certainly moments of exciting typical Indiana Jones action to be had, but they were interspersed with enough moments of sheer idiocy to really make you wonder what stuff they were on and where you can get some for yourself. Granted, some better editing would have taken care of most of those. The bigger problem comes with the last 15 minutes or so of the movie. You get hints at the climax of the movie throughout, but really...just an awful premise. It's not a problem of direction (Spielberg is fantastic throughout the movie), but maybe more with the writing.
Really, 3 stars would be generous if not for Harrison Ford and Steven Spielberg. Ford's performance is easy, comfortable, like he's coming home to the role.
It's a movie worth seeing, just don't expect anything on the same level as Raiders, even though you do get a sight of the Ark again.

The problem with this movie isn't the stunts or the acting or the directing. The problem is simply that the story is silly and unfaithful to the series. The first and last 15 minutes are a complete mess, and Shia LaBeouf's character is almost as ridiculous as his name.

I loved all the other Indiana movies but I was left disappointed with ths one. The story line was not as engaging as in the past. Though the action scenes were just as good as previous movies overall it lacked something. I walked away disappointed and wished that I would of just left well enough alone and relished the memory of all his other ones.

I grew up watching these films in the theatre, and although I figured this film would not be as great as the first three, I was really excited to see this one. I was disappointed with some of the stunts, and the myth arc at the end. The ensemble cast did a good job. All in all, I liked 50% of the film, and the other 50% completely bombed for me. It is still a fun, lighthearted film, and I would recommend it for those who like the National Treasure films.
